History

Established in 1981.

Since 1981, Dojo instructors have been teaching metro Atlantans the most exciting and practical form mixed martial arts ever developed. Our instructors and school owners have promoted more than 1,000 students to black belt level.

5 stars is not nearly enough to describe the awesome community at The Dojo. From the instructors to the fellow students, I have loved everything about my experience in the adult class. The Dojo offers an amazing adult program and the instructors do an outstanding job. They create a friendly yet disciplined environment that makes learning fun even for the adults. But don’t get me wrong, it’s totally serious! :) I have truly enjoyed learning forms and combinations, and the instructors are really willing to help you. They really motivate me to try my hardest and I have learned so much. I am so happy to have found such a great exercise at an even better place with the best instructors. I wouldn’t want to work towards my black belt anywhere else!

The new location is so nice and clean and spacious. Instructors are great they don’t pressure your kids if they are having a hard time keeping up and make karate fun for kids. They don’t try high-​pressure sales like a lot of the other places highly recommend

Great for adults too! They have an evening program for adults. I highly recommend it. I haven’t practiced Karate in 20 years, but its awesome to be back doing it again. If you did it in college or never tried and want to try something to get in shape other than hanging out at the gym this is the place to have fun with others and learn some new skills. You laugh, get a killer work out and feel great at the end. I can’t wait to go tonight!
Update — still at it after a couple of months and have to say the group of people at this Dojo are really top notch. They spend a lot of one-​on-​one time. I’m also really impressed with how they focus on «respect» of everyone for all ages. Great place to be!

My kid tried t-​ball and soccer and was unable to follow the rules. Here the leadership is amazing. My kid follows every instruction here and is craving for more. All the tasks are simple at first which has built his confidence and self esteem. This is much more than exercise. He is learning respect, self esteem, confidence, and self control. My kid is high functioning on the autism spectrum. You would never know it in this class. His behaviors have improved after only 3 classes and his balance has improved as well. I took karate when I was kid and this is way better than what I had. The instructors are surprisingly patient and proficient with teaching kids. I highly recommend giving this place a chance. I normally don’t write positive reviews anywhere but this is the exception. He felt so proud after his white belt ceremony.
