McBroom Heating and Air Conditioning Services

McBroom Heating and Air is the preferred heating and air conditioning service company of the condominiums I live in. When my air conditioner suddenly stopped cooling on Saturday morning, I went to McBroom’s web site and scheduled an appointment online. Within an hour or so, the owner, Houston McBroom, called me to confirm my appointment.
I requested a Sunday appointment since I wanted the problem fixed immediately, but Houston recommended I wait until Monday morning. One of the main reasons being the trip charge over the weekend is $ 150 when compared to $ 80 on weekdays. Another reason is if he needs a part, the parts supply stores are closed over the weekends, so I might have had to wait until Monday anyway.
McBroom schedules service appointments in 2-​hour time windows. I scheduled an appointment for Monday morning between 10am-​12pm and Houston showed up to my condo on time, shortly after 10am. Based on my initial phone call with him, he already had a hunch of what might be wrong with my unit. It turned out he was right. The dual capacitor on my rooftop unit failed, so he replaced it. The entire job took only 15 – 20 minutes and Houston knew exactly where to go and what to do since he was familiar with my building’s layout.
The total cost for the job was about $ 170 ($ 90 for the capacitor alone). I thought this was a reasonable price and frankly, was expecting worse (I’ve had my fair share of air conditioning problems in the past). Houston was professional, honest, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend his company’s services if you need any heating or air work done in your own home. Our condominium’s heating and cooling are in good hands as long as he’s around.
