Collet French Pastry & Cafe

Good food, great pastries and desserts. Hard to find this place and parking is not good. Small place. Not a lot of seating. Friendly service.

The pasties here are absolutely delicious! I got the key lime pie and apple Danish. Also got some tea but I don’t remember the names. The key lime was perfect. It was not too sweet or too sour, had a very nice balance. The apple Danish was sweet and the apple were thinly sliced and layered. It had a nice crunch to it. Both pastries were about 3 – 4 inches and cost about $ 5 I believe. They also had Christmas log cakes at the time pricing at about $ 30 and were 6 inches. You could also pre order it too. The atmosphere was quiet and intimate with cute and casual interior. Service was also nice. The bakery is located on Old Milton road in Alpharetta. It is attached to a jewelry store on the side so it is easy to miss if you don’t really look around. I would come definitely come back and order a cake this time to try!

Due to so many good reviews on Unilocal,My bf and I decided to try this place out. We got three different pastries. The pastries were very fluffy and just melted in your mouth as you bite into it. Moreover, pastry filling were so delicious and sweet but not overpowering. I wish there were more selection though. I would recommend it to anyone that like pastry to try this place out

The owner’s attitude is the worst I have ever had in Atlanta, and she is racist and arrogant! Watch out if you are Asians. (1. She kicked us out saying other people are waiting. 2. our salad was so small compared to other Caucasian customers’. We ordered the same stuff. It’s favoritism? Racist)
The other staff were wonderful and the foods were excellent, no doubt. I give A. However, if u got kicked out like us, U won’t go again. Because it’s your pride, not your stomach that matters.
At first, a lady was so eager to take away our plates. My friend didn’t finish her last bite of salad. We were there for only 30 minutes and a staff just came to take away all the plates??? But shouldn’t u ask if she wanted the last bite or not??? Later we found that one of the drink order was wrong, so I went up to tell the staff and the owner happened to be there, too. She didn’t say anything, didn’t even looked at me and said sorry that she will fix it. Instead, she just grabbed my mug and walked away. It was a sweet staff that apologized and said she will fix it. Ok, I was shocked by the owner’s attitude but I tried to ignore it.
Then, finally the drama came. The owner came to us with a super stern and mean face, not kidding you, saying that out of the blue, «If you guys are not eating, there are so many people waiting and why don’t u go outside? The weather is nice. » she was basically kicking us out and use the weather as an excuse. It was a windy and cloudy morning.
WHAT ??? Is this the way u treat customers? We ate fast so we shouldn’t sit and enjoy coffee and have be kicked out??? We wanted to order some desserts to go but gave up for we got kicked out!!! If the weather had been nice, I am sure other customers can go out to find their seats. Then who took away our plates so fast in the first place? Who said we didn’t want to order more foods while we chatted? You lose big business!!!
If you say it nicely to your customers with, «Excuse me there are other people waiting» and we would get it and might leave. But the fact is there are no customers with plates in their hands waiting next to us!!! There are people in a line to order but does any customer need to stand up and leave??? I will never visit here again, ever. We came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday because of so many good reviews, and this is the treatment we got. So rude!!!
The way she only approached to us made us feel she was deliberately aiming at us, discriminating us, not to other people who came about the same time (both in front of us and behind us) Why didn’t the owner tell other people to get out?
The store should appreciate customers who like your food, atmosphere and want to spend special time at your store. This owner was just plainly rude and mean, and didn’t mind at all to kick customers out!!! Yeah, she probably won’t mind for there are so many good reviews, however, check the bad reviews, too, especially if you are Asians and u will know what I mean. The owner is simply racist.
This is not the way to do business in AMERICA. I have been to Café de Flore in Paris, and even the most famous café in Paris didn’t treat tourists in their busiest hours like the way here did. Different levels.
Let’s not change the subject, either. Just face the fact that this store doesn’t respect customers. We love and support small business. No one even mention anything about not supporting small business. It’s the WAY, the ATTITUDE of a owner that shapes its business. No matter how good your food is, if you don’t have a humble and open minded attitude to welcome comments, forget about it. All we need is a sincere apology. And yet, the answer from the owner was on the defense side, not a single word showing her regrets for what she has done.
And also, we only stayed from 11:14 until 12:40. Not 2 hours. If you don’t welcome clients to stay over an hour, just write a big poster and stick it on the wall next time. We won’t go again. Whether u mind it or not, just a sincere reminder that having a smiling face will earn you more business.
The owner at Georgia French Bakery (Duluth area, on Satellite Boulevard) is so amicable and so welcoming. I highly recommend!

I LOVE THIS BAKERY!!! Once you have a Latte and croissant here, you will never want any another! The staff and atmosphere are warm and inviting. A few moments chatting with Catherine Taylor will make you feel you’ve been whisked away to the sweetest French café! I kept asking questions just to hear her pronounce various pasty offerings. Get here, but look out for the enormous pothole in the rear driveway.

Perfect place for brunch for friends, family, and also a nice date! I went here with my boyfriend because he loves the chicken pot pie here and the variety of yummy desserts. I enjoy their desserts and coffee, the décor inside fits perfectly with what they serve! Parking here can be a little tight!

J’adore cet boulangerie! Love this place! The pastries are superb. My favorite? Impossible to say since the moment I settle on one, I think about the apricot Danish… Or the almond croissant. I could go on. Service is very good — the young ladies behind the counter are attentive, sweet and friendly. They make good coffees, too!
The jewel in this crown is Collette. She is serious about her French pastries and it shows. Each is made to perfection. This is as authentic as it gets. — being in Paris isn’t any closer. Vous pouvez pratiquer votre Français ici, aussi!

I found this little place by using the Unilocal app and I am so glad I gave this place a try.
The first time I went there I got the chicken pot pie in puff pastry and a small salad. The chicken and mushroom filling was excellent! You can’t go wrong with this choice. The pastry was light and flaky and just melted I my mouth.
I went back two days later and got a ham and cheese croissant to go — mmmmm mmmmm good! Again, tender and flaky croissant that just melted in my mouth.
I went back the next day and got the ham and cheese croquet sandwich — omg it was delicious!
Needless to say, this place is now one of my favorite little lunch spots.
The ONLY complaint I have is its location access. It sits on the corner of Haynes Bridge and Old Milton Parkway and has only one entrance/​exit to the parking lot and not conveniently accessible. This won’t prevent me from frequently patronizing this cute establishment, but it is a PITA if you are coming in from the wrong direction or leaving and have to go right out of the parking lot when you red to go left.
I haven’t even tried the dessert pastries yet BUT
This little bakery café gets all possible stars from me!

This place is AWESOME! Very French like atmosphere. High ceilings, double French entry doors with a small sitting/​waiting area along with about 9 café tables and chairs. We went in December and didn’t see any outdoor seating.
The customer service is outstanding! Such lovely, kind people. Even the owner came out and talked with the customers.
On our first visit we bought the leek soup, spinach quiche, croissants, fresh brewed coffee, Napoleon éclair, and a vanilla yule log.
And a few croissants to go.
We will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a great french pastries in this area — this maybe the only one who will offer it to you. A big a variety of desserts and types of coffee. Very clean and neat. A pleasant stuff.
Also has a pleasant outside sitting.

I generally try to let at least a year go by before re-​reviewing a place, but in having visited this place more times than I care to admit in the past few months, I have to update on some of the amazing things, mostly in order on the Grimm Delicious Scale:
1.) The absolute best thing I’ve had here is the matignon. We were hooked on the raspberry chocolate mousse cake for a while, but in trying several mini cakes for my birthday we discovered the matignon (flourless chocolate cake) is basically the best thing you could ever think to put in your mouth. Ever.
2.) Fountaines — I have on at least five occasions bought out their entire stock of both strawberry and blueberry fountaines. I’m not saying «the last one or two,» but the «entire stock,» the most being five blueberry and three strawberry at once. My mother-​in-​law and I went nuts over these things this summer when they were here, and I was delighted to see that they were still making and selling them last weekend. If you’re not into chocolate, this is the second best thing you could ever put in your mouth. I prefer the blueberry since it’s not quite as sugary sweet, and just for good measure I did let my five month old daughter have a smidge of the pastry crème in the car since she was giving me alternating sad and dirty looks for eating one in front of her in her car seat.
3.) Salads. Yes, I said salads. If you buy the pies, quiches, or sandwiches, you have an option of a salad as a side. I thought it would be an afterthought like most side salads, but here it was beautifully fresh greens with a refreshing dressing made in house.
4.) Anything else. No, seriously, I’ve had danishes, croissants, pockets, meat pies, quiches, meringues, bear claws, turnovers, brioche, Napoleans, tarts, cakes, and anything else I could justify stuffing into my face. There are a lot of options in that little display case, and I’m bound and determined to try each of them at some point.
I mentioned before that we tried several minis for my birthday, which raises two final points. First, if you can’t decide on one go this route. It was great for each of us to have a taste of eight different cakes and tarts! We each quickly found and claimed our favorites, which made it almost competitive desserting, which was oddly enjoyable. A perfect Columbus Day celebration, perhaps: I declare this cake in the name of Charles and Grimmland!
Second, we got one of the full-​size cakes for almost every other occasion thus far. When my daughter was born, when we’ve had birthdays, anniversaries, or going-​away parties, we’ve made every excuse to come here to celebrate. You can call an order in, but if you call to say you can’t get it that day just expect that the moment they put it (and I do mean this vaguely because each thing is that good!) back in the case up for grabs, it will be sold. In a storm of indecisiveness, we decided we couldn’t pick up our large matignon one evening before deciding literally five minutes later that we could. It took five minutes at 5:40 pm for that delicious hunk of chocolate to sell out from our grasp. We arranged for another cake instead and were just as satisfied — it’s hard to find this kind of quality.
Having written all of this, I’m going to have to go buy more fountaines tomorrow.

The pastry selection is to die for, so my wife had the croissant w jam and it was delicious. I’m more of the savory style so I had the bacon lettuce tomato on a croissant and it was amazing! I could not believe the flavor of the tomatoes and combination. I know it’s just a BLT right but it’s better than that! Go here enjoy!

Hell yes I’m so glad I finally went. Delicious macarons and a crème brûlée tart that’ll make you want to fight with your boyfriend because no sharesies.
Will be coming back for their breakfast options one of these weekends.

Amazing pastries and soups. Everything is baked fresh daily. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Only thing I wished is they had larger tables to accommodate crowds but it’s more of a bistro type place.

Such a cute little french bakery near the Avalon. It’s easy to miss located in the corner of a small shopping plaza next to a jewelry store.
Mushroom and chicken pot pie is where it’s at. The flakiness of the pastry with the creamy soup is perfection. If you come here for lunch, this is the thing to get!
For pastries, I’ve had the éclair (chocolate and plain), tart, and macarons. Stick with the éclair and you can’t go wrong!
The service and ordering system is a bit unorganized and not the most friendliest. This place gets super busy with older ladies coming in for lunch.

I have visited this place a few times now since it first opened because I heard that it is owned by one of the pastry chefs that left the bakery Jolie Kobe located in Sandy Springs. I was heartbroken when I heard I found out that Jolie Kobe was permanently closed. I thought maybe Collet would be the new Jolie Kobe. Nope, it is not. Collet has some of the pastries Jolie Kobe had, but is no where in comparison to Jolie Kobe’s extensive variety of pastries.
Collet focuses more on simplicity. Their main sweets consists of various tarts, croissants, danishes, eclairs, and macaroons. I am a huge fan of their fruit tarts and key lime pie tart, but beware these disappear fast! I have not tried their croissants yet. It is def on my to eat list though :) I recently just tried their mushroom and chicken quiche with their ginger carrot soup. Angela M is absolutely correct when she states that their food is simple and elegant. It truly is. I enjoyed my meal, but the prices can start to add up. For 3 pastries, a quiche, and soup, it was about $ 22. Then a few extra dollars for tip. It does add up when you don’t realize it.
However, I am a still a fan of Collet. I’ll stop by when I am in the area. Excited to try more items on the menu! It is a cute quaint french pastry & café. One of the first.
FYI: It is also located in a small shopping plaza. It is very easy to miss and U turns might be necessary. Parking is also limited. No wifi either.

I never got to review this place. When my friend got ROTD for it, I was reminded to post a quick review! My friends and I came here after we walked around Avalon. We were looking for somewhere new and this French place sounded interesting. We didn’t get to try a lot of their stuff, but the sweets we did have were okay. Their italian sodas were nicely priced after we had just gotten italian sodas from another place that were smaller and more expensive. We were able to charge our phones here and the music was nice and soft. There are a lot of tables here available too. I would try this place again.

The best French bakery i ever been to. Their pastry tasted so good. I had a spinach cheese croissant and its to die for. If i ever come back to Alpharetta i will def revisit.

This was such a cute place to visit after Avalon, My friends and I were craving for some pastries and this seemed like the perfect place to visit, all the pastries displayed looked so delicious and the smell from both the coffee and the pastries were so good. The staff was super friendly and the place looked so nice and warm, there was also some art displayed that looks great. I got a chocolate croissant and it was very good, can’t remember the name of the one my friends got but it was also great, didn’t get a chance to try their coffee but going by impressions it looks just as good, next time I visit I’ll give I a try.

This was an adorable place. The service was sweet and cordial even during my brief interaction since I had to to-​go my lunch. Yeah. Seating unfortunately was limited along with parking spaces.
The salmon sandwich was delish! I can’t remember what it’s officially called since there was only a small sign with like five food items on there. You get either a salad or soup (small cup) of the day as a side item. Today’s soup was chicken and broccoli. The soup was so creamy with the mini chicken bits adding to the texture and flavor. T
The sandwich was crazily creamy. The cream cheese looking spread with herbs was super messy, but it gave the sandwich lots of moisture. Not to mention the melted cheese atop the sandwich just gave my cheese loving crave a delight. The bread was just plain sandwich bread, but it was pressed (Panini style) with so much goodness. The salmon was only a thin slice so it was a disappoint, but it can be tasted among the gooiness of the cheese.
Parking was somewhat limited. It pretty much wrapped around the building, but the number of spaces aren’t many. Collet is right at the corner complex. You’ll see the jewelry place first since it is the largest business there. Collet is next to this jewelry place.

Nous sommes francais et tellement contents d’avoir une patisserie pas trop loin de chez nous et tellement bonne. Tout est excellent ainsi que le service ideal.
