I’d love to say I even know what this place is like on the inside. However, when I parked close to the door in the very nearly empty lot, the valet guy walked up and gave us serious attitude. We were apparently self parking in the VIP section. Again, there were maybe 5 cars in the entire lot and he wanted us to move around to the side lot. Apparently making a point was more important than our party of 6 going in and spending money in the almost empty restaurant. We went to Sage, had a great time, and tipped well. There’s no way they’re getting a second chance from me. I can only imagine the customer focus once you get into Chill.

This place may be destined for a quick closing. Food is average but expensive, service is good but almost overwhelming, building is entirely too massive to be profitable long-term, valet parking and its designated«lots» are a joke, upstairs dance club allows smoke to filter down into the main dining area. Expanding on some of these points … There are so many servers and other dining staff that they are bored and underused, even on a Friday night. We came with a large group of 15+ and had a private room that was swarmed with servers, bus staff, etc. It was almost too much, and at times felt a bit smothering. I never thought I’d complain about too MUCH service. The food is just … average. I had a wasabi grouper with bok choy that was decent, but at $ 27 it wasn’t worth it. Teriyaki chicken tasted like the meat was frozen. Servers brought only the«reserve» wine list with roughly 10 items, all at least $ 90/bottle. I had to ask for the«regular» wine list. I understand that Chill has been open for about 2 months now, but the menu has a limited selection. The kicker though, was the Caesar salad. Others in my party who ordered a Caesar salad were instructed — get ready for this — to EATTHESALADWITHTHEIRHANDS. Who the heck eats a Caesar salad with their hands? It was $ 10, and literally looked like a few large pieces of romaine sprinkled with croutons and some dressing. Awful presentation regardless of your choice to use silverware or not. Valet parking was amusing. There’s a huge lot of at least 2 acres, maybe more, and most of it is roped off as «valet only» despite being virtually empty. Meanwhile they park cars about 20 feet from the front door. Absolutely not worth it and a joke. I can’t imagine how much patronage Chill is going to attract when they advertise cigar smoking available in their facility. Unless they want it to turn into the old version of Bones steakhouse with lawyers, politicians and other bigwigs hob-knobbing around the bar with cigars, driving away most other people, they need to rethink this. By the time we left the restaurant at 10pm, quite a bit of smoke had come downstairs. If not for the private room, I would have left long before the meal was over. For a Friday night, this place was dead. There were only a few other parties in what is a massive space for a restaurant. It’s difficult to imagine why the building was constructed as a restaurant originally(as Rainwater café), it looks more like a hotel. I don’t see how Chill is going to stay in business much longer without doing a Groupon, Living Social deal, etc. AND changing a few things, starting with the menu and silly valet parking nonsense.

I know this will be a four star soon! I happened upon Chill this evening and I am glad I did. They have a dining area downstairs and a DJ and dance floor upstairs. There weren’t very many people, but the space is perfect for hanging out and getting your dance on. The DJ played a mix of new and old school tunes and the staff was friendly and energetic. I’d love to see this place get some local love. We didn’t get here until late, but I checked out the dining area. It’s so pretty! Very white and elegant. The menu looks great, I can’t wait to come back and try some of their menu items.
