What! This Bistro just turned away two little girls with their dolls who had come for a birthday celebration because they were 13 min late for their reservation! They had even called to say they’d be 10 min late and been told that was ok. Are you kidding me?!! Had waited weeks and driven long distances. One girl had never been before! This is just unacceptable, especially since I had attended about a month ago with my daughter and invalid mother and been MADETOWAITOVER30MINBEYONDOURRESERVATIONTIME! They weren’t even nice about it. I will never go there again or pay for any of their overpriced stuff and I will tell everyone I know the same! Who treats sweet children like this?!

THEALLUREOFTHEAMERICANGIRLDOLL Although I have a daughter, I have never purchased as doll for her. Yet, I have always wondered why girls and adults seem to swarm around this particular store. I decide to go in and snoop around. This store is a little girl’s play land. It not only have little girl dolls, but infant and toddler dolls as well. The dolls represent a variety of cultures and ethnicity and each one has a personal story. The coolest thing about this collection is the endless accessories that are available for each doll and the fact that you can purchase coordinating outfits to wear with your doll. They have an indoor salon fo your doll to get her hair groomed and they also have a Bistro where you can book a party or have lunch. A menu is posted on the wall and lunch is $ 16.50 unless you are under seven years old, then it is only $ 7.50. When you walk into this store, you can just hear the sound of money being sucked out of wallets! It is a black hole that is never filled. I spoke with one grandmother whose grand-daughter has six of these dolls and she was in today purchasing accessories. Poor thing, she is absolutely hooked! You’ve been warned and if you haven’t gotten hooked yet, beware because this place is obviously addictive!

We booked a private room months ago for today to celebrate my daughters seventh birthday and it was horrible. They were 30 minutes late seating us to start off. The food and service was very slow with only one person to cover drinks, food and the craft. The girls did not have a good time and were not entertained. One of the girls had hair in her food. Do not waste your money or time with birthday parties here. The manager claimed that he could not discount my bill and acted like nothing was wrong. After I held firm my position, he did offer a discount but never did apologize. Stay away. Does not deserve one star at all.

We went to the bistro yesterday to celebrate my niece and daughter’s birthdays. After waiting over 30 minutes for the starter, we waited an additional 40 minutes for the main course, which we received only after flagging down our server and asking. No drinks were ever refilled and no one checked on us during the meal. Then the manager stopped by to tell us that even though we bought the additional birthday package, there would be no cake because«the delivery truck never came». She did offer a replacement dessert, but after waiting another 15 minutes and no one taking that order, we cut our losses and asked for the check. It was over 2 ½ hours to get salads and sandwiches and no dessert. The manager did take 50% off our bill which did compensate somewhat, but they need to get their act together. This is a special occasion restaurant and we were there for the experience, which unfortunately was not good at all.

Ok, so firstly let me say that this store was AWESOME! I took my almost 14 year old Addy doll to American Girl to get some MUCH needed pampering! She had been boxed up for about 8 years. She wasn’t in awful condition, but when we left she looked like I had just purchased her! I have never been to a store before(I purchased some of her books during a school book fair and fell in LOVE with Addy, so my Mother ordered her for my 9th birthday present). That being said I had only heard about how terribly expensive and busy this store was! While it was busy, the employees were very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have to wait around and nobody hit me with the, «I don’t know let me ask somebody» bit. Alexia did my doll’s hair BEAUTIFULLY. They gave her a bath also. Katherine helped us with the checkout process and was very patient, sweet, and informative. LOVED it! Though I have no reason to go on a regular basis, I highly recommend going into this American Girl store. Very organized, and very nice staff :)

We celebrated my daughters fifth birthday at the American Girl Bistro and absolutely LOVED our experience. Our server was Xanthe, she was fabulous and made my daughter feel extra special for her big celebration. Xanthe brought out an extra doll chair and cup/saucer for the doll my daughter was given during our meal and she is still talking about that! Xanthe also sang happy birthday with a sundae and that really added to the experience. The food was good, not what you would expect from an adult restaurant but good for what it is. We weren’t there for the cuisine, so I won’t dwell on that. I love that some of the meals come with fruit on the side — perfect for kids! My sister and I split a regular sized brownie sundae — it was enormous and soooo delicious. There is an even bigger one that serves 3−4…I can’t imagine how big that one is! All in all, this is such a sweet and fun experience for the kiddos. My daughter loved the«big girl» experience so much, I would take her again in a heartbeat!

Awesome experience for my daughters birthday. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. All wished her a happy birthday and helped her pick the perfect doll. We’ve been to several AG locations in the US and this was by far my favorite experience. Truly enjoyed our visit.

Took my daughter as a Christmas present. The store is smaller than the Chicago store. The staff is friendly and helpful. The meal 8th reasonably priced for an appetizer and entrée

Very nice store. It’s most definitely a little girl’s dream. We took our daughter two weeks before her forth birthday. We did the bistro birthday lunch, which for four of us cost $ 83. It included appetizers, entrée and drinks for all four of us. A special crown for my girl and her doll, and cake and ice cream at the end of the meal. The store is laid out nicely and everyone we dealt with was incredibly kind and helpful… Until we got to check out. It’s like a switch is flipped. They are completely rude and snooty. Other than those people, everyone else is amazing.

Two things you need to know about this review. 1. I hate dolls. 2. I really love my niece. So visiting the American Girl store and Café was an experience. A great experience. The café was excellent. They give the doll her own seat and place setting. The menu is geared to kids and adults. The service was so great and our waitress was super sweet. I am not sure what I was expecting but not this! The food was really good. Nothing crazy or cutting edge but I would stop by and order the artichoke did without a niece or doll. And I wouldn’t care who looked at me! It was also my niece’s birthday and the small package they do for that was great. Matching crowns. A really good cake and they really make the birthday girl feel special even if she is just with her silly old aunt. It wasn’t cheap but it was an experience not just a meal. So make a day of it. Enjoy it. And get the artichoke dip!

This is little girl paradise! Dolls, dress up, a cute bistro with great selections for kids and adults. I made a reservation online for the bistro for 3. We were running behind in traffic and had to call and reschedule. The receptionist quickly changed our reservation to a later time. When we arrived there was a mixup with the time but we were accomodated very quickly. We were seated at a pink table with flowers, place settings, and a colorful menu. Our server Mr. Kevin took our order and even provided menu suggestions. There are tons of things to do while you wait like play with dolls, take pictures in the larger than life chair, and play a game using questions provided. This is a great place to have a birthday party or just an afternoon spent with your favorite little girl.

My 12 year old granddaughter just celebrated her birthday here on July 21. It was everything she dreamed it would be and more. She had a party with her friends and family — 11 of us in all. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. I had the tomato bisque(delicious), salmon and dessert. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Make reservations and if your child is an American Girl fan be prepared to spend a lot of money. My only complaint is that everything is made in China.

We had a girls day at the american girls store and bistro. The food was super cute and my girls loves it. As apps we had pretzel bites. Tomato bisque, spinach artichoke dip and fruit fondue. All was delicious and great presentation. For entrees we had picnic time chicken sandwich mac and cheese and salad. It was so good. I highly recommend coming but be prepared to drop some serious coinage.

My daughter LOVES this store and franchise. I really like how organized the store is. Everything is always stocked and labeled well. They have a ton of staff on the floor at all times. No matter if it is a Monday or Saturday.(In my head that justifies paying those ridiculous prices) The staff is always super friendly and helpful. This location, and most AG locations, have several free events each week. We try to schedule our visits to the activities. We had reservations to eat at the Bistro for my daughter’s birthday in July. She decided she did not want to eat there 10 mins before our reservation and they cancelled them without any problem.

We first visit American Girl Store in 2009 for my daughters birthday. I was so impress to see everything so organize and so easy to find. Our personal shopper was very helpful and made sure my daughter was happy with her purchase. We had lunch at the Bistro to celebrate her day. The table was so pretty decorated and they provided my daughters a high chair for her doll. The food is sort of pricey but is very good. The waitress was very nice and provided us good service. She brought out the birthday cake we had ordered and they sang her happy birthday. After lunch we went to the doll salon for the doll ear piercing, If you purchase the earring the piercing is included. How cute is that! Great place for your daughters special occasions, just make sure your credit cards are in zero balance. Overall my daughter had an unforgettable day.

This is a frightening new obsession of mine/Claire’s. Where else can you get dolls to match you child and clothes so your child can match her doll. Actually the American Girl Dolls are a great product. The store was nice organized and clean. The Bistro was pretty good Claire and I had grilled salmon with Asparagus. The only things stopping 5 stars is the dolls start at 75 each and I made a lunch reservation a month ago, checked in 15 minutes before the actual reservation and informed the hostess that I would be making my purchases and be ready for lunch at 12. Well the little snot disregarded that seated the last open tables, made us wait, then after a ½ hour wait seated us next to the waitress station. But she was young and the store has only been open 2 weeks so they are still figuring things out. Still had a great time Clarie and I were there for over 2 hours of chick bonding.
