This place surprised me. The other reviews were good so I was initially pretty stoked to try them out, but after I found out that their office is located inside North Point Mall I became skeptical. First of all, google maps only gets you in the neighborhood, so you need to know where it is inside the mall. When I went I called them up and asked, they were very helpful and said, «We are located on the lower level, right by the entrance to Macy’s inside of the Lenscrafters». I found it with ease. When you walk into Lenscrafters their office is immediately to the left, the two businesses work together somewhat but are not affiliated or obligated. I told them I had an appointment and they gave me with one sheet of paper front and back to fill out, super easy. I approached the counter again and they took the paperwork from me and asked me to have a seat. I waited less that 3 minutes and one of the techs came to help me. They use sophisticated equipment to administer tests and readings. I was done in no time. They lead me over to another room where I again waited less than 3 minutes and met with Dr. Szirovecz. He is lightning fast, efficient, courteous, and seemed to be very experienced. For example, in my case I have family history of an extremely rare eye condition. I mentioned this to him and he responded without hesitation knowing exactly how to handle it. Due to this, we opted to use their fancy machine rather than do pupil dilation because it gives more details(also it doesn’t affect your vision temporarily like dilation does). He printed out my eyeglasses prescription, included one for sunglasses too, and handed it to me on the spot. I asked him to add my PD to it and he did so in about 5 seconds. He also gave me advice on preventing the development of the condition mentioned earlier. I was there from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. One hour and fifteen minutes. Not too shabby.

I’ve been visiting Alpharetta Eye Associates since moving to Atlanta in 2006. I’ve seen almost all the optometrists on staff and have no real preference; they’re all good. They have some neat things I haven’t seen at other doctors’ offices. Instead of having my eyes dilated(which I HATE), they offer a retinal scan. It costs extra, but not much. For me it’s worth it. Results are saved on the computer, so the doctor can look at past scans anytime they need to. The last time I visited, they had an additional test which actually goes all the way down to the molecular level! I probably won’t have that one done every single time I visit, but it’s another nice thing to have in your toolkit. When you have eyesight as horrible as mine, it’s good to have the doc take a thorough look once in a while. They’ve also been very patient with me and my sensitive eyes. I’m severely nearsighted and astigmatic, and always on the hunt for a better pair of contact lenses. They’ve been great at trying various different lenses with me. In fact, I’m trying a new pair right now, and we might finally have a winner!

These folks have never once made me regret driving all the way from Midtown to visit them. The reception team is always friendly and efficient — I never have to wait more than a couple minutes for my visit to begin. The doctors are always professional, courteous, and take the time to make me feel like my eyes are being very well looked after. They have a lot of contacts on hand so I almost always am able to leave with enough samples to last until my full order arrives. They’re inside the Lenscrafters at the mall, so the hours are very flexible as well.
