La Befana Pizzeria specializes in gourmet pizzas and services the Allston — Brighton — Cambridge neighborhoods of Boston. We offer free delivery and curbside pickup.

Our reputation for producing gourmet pizza rests squarely on our ingredients. Poor ingredients in — bad food out! So we only best the freshest and best, and make our dough daily and on premise.

Our tomatoes are packaged whole and shipped to use without any processing — when we open the cans they practically burst out of the top. The cheese is lovingly bought and prepared.

Our special ovens heat your pizza to 650 degrees to fire in all the goodness and flavor.

History

Established in 2011.

La Befana Pizzeria was born on Cape Cod where the owner ran a pizza place in Dennisport. Since leaving the Cape opening a pizzeria serving gourmet pizzas at reasonable prices has been the dream. In March 2011 this dream became a reality. The desire to bring good pizza to Allston and other nearby Boston neighborhoods.

LC is an entrepreneur but loves the pizza business and making gourmet pizza. To LC Pizza is an art and he oversees the making of the dough each morning. LC loves to talk to customers and so when you see him in the kitchen say hello and he’ll probably take a minute out and explain why he is so passionate about making pizza. Be careful though LC loves to talk and just remember you started the conversation!

I used to love the pasta an pizza here, but the last two times I ordered through Foodler my order was not up to par. This time, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and got spaghetti and ONE meatball with no cheese on top like usual. I’m done ordering through them.

Really solid pizza place! Boston pizza is kind of. underwhelming, but La Befana actually makes some sizable and delicious slices. The prices are excellent as well. Staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere there is surprisingly rustic and cozy — you can watch the cooks tossing dough and making pizzas right in front of you. By-​the-​slice is good but if you want a lot of pizza the x-​larges come with free garlic knots & marinara sauce as well! Really happy to have given this place a shot — I’m a regular already.

The first time we ate here, we ordered two slices. Happily surprised that 1 slice = 2 slices here and we walked away with four slices. Great pizza, almost like New York… almost.

Garlic Knots is bomb and I could bath in it all day. They’re practically giving it away with the small price and hug portion. So good and marinara sauce was awesome. I added sriracha to the sauce though because I’m special like that. So good!
PIzza was ok. Got the Italiano pizza. Was interesting in the shape of the pizza, very cool. Didn’t taste anything special though. But do feel like maybe it taste healthier than other similar type of pizza elsewhere. Will try again with another type to see if they’re for me because I’m not sure they would deliver just the garlic knot… Unless I order like… 8 order of garlic knots… which I might…

These folks dont know how to make a margherita pizza, like a lot of other places in Boston.
But this margherita was the worst– waaaaaay to much sauce and it’s a sweet sauce which it so wrong for pizza in general. Also there was hardly any cheese on it.
It was disgusting, I had to scrape off the sauce and take the cheese from another slice just to make one slice halfway edible.
They also sent a box of burnt garlic knots that we did not order, thanks, now we can throw them out instead of you.
We did take out. Was ready in 20 min. but that doesn’t make up for the horrible food.
I don’t think these folks are Italian. I’m going to stay away in the future.

My fave pie in Allston. We order delivery from here once or twice a month. The garlic knots are BANANAS. Try the prosciutto and caramelized onion pizza. :drool:

This is the best pizza delivery in the Brighton/​Allston area, to my knowledge. I’ve tried many with dismal results. They’ve given me free garlic knots each time as well!

I really enjoyed the food, it was fantastic, especially the garlic knots, the pizzas are big but you need to eat the ones with caramelized onions right away as they dont last well overnight. Anyhow I ate here often.
The only trouble was online I paid for the Drivers tip one night, some young Asian kid showed up at the door and gave my girlfriend the food, upon her leaving he said «hey, what no tip?». She was outside for a bit so I went to see what was up. She was going inside as I was coming out, I told him We already gave him a tip online (he was late btw) and he started complaining. My girlfriend also informed me that he literally told her to «go inside and get tip money», My presence alone had him leave. Apparently she did tip him when outside when he said «hey, no tip?» But demanded more… We had a similar experience with another driver from La Befana months ago, a different Asian kid that even after tipping online said he didn’t get a tip. In which my girlfriend payed him again by accident not knowing I already tipped him online…
I like their food but they are a headache to buy from, train your drivers on common courtesy a bit better. Just dont use their tip online apparently. Since this experience we have found Rock City Pizza in Allston are much happier with the service and the food their is amazing as well.

After 10 years of eating pizza in Boston, this is the only place that I will drive/​bike halfway across the city for. I used to live a block away for a couple years, now I live 7 miles away, its a bummer. I always stop in here for a slice if I am ever passing through Allston, it is that good and I miss it that much.
The pizza is cheap (considering what you are getting), the toppings are fresh and plentiful and EVENLY DISTRIBUTED across the pie… this is a detail that is so often overlooked by other lesser pizzerias. Ive been eating at La Befana for 4 years now and they have never done wrong by me, ever.
Try their cannoli as well, very tasty ;)

The pizza is delicious, inexpensice, and high quality!
I ordered the Gourmet 5 Cheese Pizza (XL) and it did not disappoint! The slices and pizza itself are enormous and it only cost $ 13.95. Every gourmet pizza also comes with freshly made Garlic Knots which are awesome!!! For the price, size and taste, I think this pizza is definately worth it!
I’m a cheese fanatic so I HAD to try the 5 cheese (ricotta, gorgonzola, cheddar, feta and mozzerella), and I’m so happy that I did. However, I wasn’t a fan of the gorgonzola cheese but that’s just my personal preference.
I also tried the Gourmet Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was pretty interesting. The chicken is shredded which is different, but I could have done without the red peppers, onions, and gorgonzola cheese. Next time I’ll stick to a classic Buffalo Chicken with blue cheese.

Wow… Gourmet Pizza at a great price. My brother and I have ordered from La Bafana at least twice a week since we stopped going to another Pizzeria in town. We have tried regular pizza’s and I have tried their Buffalo Chicken Pizza (which is out of this world good) and their BBQ Chicken Pizza. From what I can tell all of their ingredients are of the highest quality down to their mozzarella sticks. The pricing is more than reasonable and the delivery staff is quick and extremely nice. Whether you are looking for a simple pizza or a specialty pizza La Bafana is excellent. I can’t wait to try their calzones which I’ve heard are amazing as well.

I ate here one night. I called in to order for pick-​up. It’s close to where I live and I heard the garlic knots were delicious. The personal cheese pizza was ok. Nothing special but the knots were amazing! One order of knots is about 10 – 12 plus you get 2 pizza sauce on the side, so it’s a good amount for why you pay for.
To add, the service was nice. The ladies are very friendly.

I’ve eaten here plenty before and can’t believe why I haven’t wrote a review yet. The salads and pizza are excellent! I can’t say this enough.
I want to include a story or shall I say an incident that happened recently. Me and a couple or girlfriends were walking home and these guys off the street in their car were harassing us. I felt so unsafe! The closest place we ran to was la befanas. The staff here were so nice to have the guys working at the time make sure the guys had left and put us at ease that we were okay to stay with them at the pizza place. I really can’t express how nice it is to have such great people working here at such a scary time. I literally ran in and locked their door and they didn’t yell at us what we’re doing, I feel like most people these days would say to get out. They were more concerned for our safety, couldn’t thank you enough befanas! As if you didn’t have a returning customer already, you have one for life! Thank you so much! :D

This place has one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Im a huge fan of thin crust pizza with tons of toppings and thats exactly what this was. Not to mention if you order something over $ 15 you get free garlic knots!

This place has the freshest and most plentiful toppings out of all the pizza joints I’ve tried in the area. The veggie pizza (see pics) is loaded with sooooooo many different veggies and so much of it. The chicken/​sausage/​meat you can tell is also fresh and doesn’t taste like it’s been frozen for ages. The sauce is also seasoned well and has basil pieces in it. It’s def not sauce straight poured out of some can. Also it doesn’t hurt that one slice/​one order is actually 2 slices!!! This makes them not only the freshest pizza around but also some of the most affordable. Definitely a hidden gem. Inside there is colorful décor, though smallish, and an explanation of what exactly a befana is.
