Boston Just Helpers

We just moved into our second floor apartment and could not have done it without the help of these lovely gentlemen!
The guy who was supposed to be helping my boyfriend and I move in these three humongous (they probably weigh about 200 pounds each) solid wood furniture pieces was a no show, so we were desperate to find someone last minute. I called up lots of moving services and no one could come out until the next day or later (and charging about 500 dollars minimum).
These two guys were so polite and nice, they showed up within 20 minutes of me calling and started to move the furniture pieces up the incredibly steep stairway. At one point I kind of feared for the guy at the bottom of the stairs life haha
They charged us 50/​hr at a 2hr minimum for each person. So the total was 200, which in my opinion was a really fair price considering the circumstances.
If you just need someone to help you move some heavy stuff, this is definitely the way to go — I would call them again in a heartbeat!

Worked really well with Amadeo — He has good guys and works quickly but does show up early (not a bad thing) and does charge a 3 hour minimum which is completely fair… if it takes an hour to move and an hour to get the truck to you, it’s really no big deal nor should there be many moves which take under this.
The price is extremely reasonable and he is very sweet. He charges if he wraps your stuff up (like a few bucks) — just say no if you don’t want it wrapped, or wrap your own stuff. My stuff arrived in my new house in great shape– they were very quick and VERY affordable.

These guys were AWESOME! They were super affordable, worked really hard (especially considering our move was from a 3^rd floor, teeny stairwell apartment), were kind, helpful, prompt… really, we just loved them! They wrapped the things we needed wrapped, took apart the things that needed to be taken apart, and made A LOT of things fit safely and securely (NOTHING broke on the drive up to Maine) into a 12 foot truck, with a few feet to spare even! I found them on Craigslist and was SO GLAD that we found them, because had we not I’m pretty sure our move would have been long and MISERABLE… thanks so much, guys! There were two of them, I believe it was Amadeo and Rich (?)… either way, I would hire them again, and it was a TWO hour minimum, as is standard with all of the affordable movers I saw on Craigslist, and it was $ 10 per item wrapped (ie huge tv and mattress). I would say highly worth it if you don’t want to rip hard working people off.

I just finished my move not more than 3 hours ago, and I just had to log on to tell how extremely happy I was with this company. Amadeo, I believe is the owner, was extremely professional, kind and honest and his helper was also. I needed to move from North of Boston into the East part of the city. I posted an ad on Craigslist to have someone help with my move (small apartment).
Amadeo contacted me and we setup a time and date. At the very last minute, something came up and I had to contact Amadeo and change my move date. This didn’t phase him one bit. He was happy to make the date change. Moving day came, and he was on time with his truck and helper. They quickly wrapped my things with blankets, wrap and tape. They were sure to take every extra precaution to be sure nothing was damaged. The move was done very quickly (I was surprised how quickly) and my things were moved into my new apartment.
Amadeo went over and beyond when my Queen-​sized mattress box-​spring wouldn’t fit in ANY door or window in my new place. Again, this didn’t phase him and he quickly offered different options to me that he could do to make it work. I was able to pay him a little extra to modify my box-​spring so I was able to fold it in half to fit in in my new place. All the while, he was just as happy, quick and efficient as he was when he first started. My particular move only had taken about 3 hours and I am EXTREMELY pleased with the entire process.
I’d recommend this company and Amadeo to ANY friends or family (which in my eyes says a lot if I send my family his way) for their moving needs.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! NOT EXPENSIVE either! Very fair!

This is my first review and I added the company on Unilocal!because they were so awful!
I was moving within the same building, and had already moved the majority of my stuff, just needed help with my big furniture (queen bed, entertainment center and couch). I explained my situation to the man on the phone and he said, «Okay! Yes! No problem! We can help! The charge will be $ 20/​per man/​per hour» I said, «Great sounds good I need you guys at 10am, and it will probably only take an hour». He said great, text me your address and we’ll see you then!
Moving day came, and the only good thing was they were friendly, and about 30 minutes early. Luckily I was ready for them, and they got started. They moved my bed fairly quickly, but then were really slow with the rest. They insisted on «wrapping» my stuff in saran wrap, even though they were moving within the same building, and they still managed to get greasy handprints on my couch. An hour and a half later, they bring over the last piece and he says, «Oh by the way, there’s a 3 hour minimum». He a) NEVER said that, b) wasn’t on their «website», and c) wasn’t on the contract I signed. Then he tried to finagle more money out of me for the «materials» (saran wrap and tape) that they had used! I threw a fit and said I’d pay him $ 60 for their time and $ 10 for the materials and then he needed to get out! I threatened to report him to the better business bureau.
Let’s just say DO NOT go with them!
