Boston Green Building

I recently purchased a condo from Boston Green Building. Originally, I wasn’t looking for a green home but once I started learning about all of the environment and money saving benefits, I was hooked. The team is really friendly and helpful– even after the deal was closed they have been available for questions. They do great work. Even my father, a mechanical engineer who specializes in HVAC was impressed. They offered me some really great upgrades. They really know what they’re talking about with the whole retro-​fitting homes and how to save energy. Our solar panels provide all the electricity we need. My home is nice and warm all the time and uses hardly any energy. It’s worth the investment because you’ll save money on your heating and electric bills (plus your home will be a lot prettier and environmentally-​friendly!).

What’s most notably green in Boston Green Building is their inexperience. This young company is well intentioned and well positioned in the marketplace. They have a clever concept and cute trucks. Unfortunately, it’s a job in itself to figure out just who is behind the wheel. The vast majority of work is farmed out to subcontractors, many of whom lack adequate training or are simply unfamiliar with the project. These day workers are given limited supervision. Think of the stress of an ordinary renovation and double it. Boston Green Building is stretched thin delivering builder grade construction at top dollar prices. For my money, that’s flushing a lot of green straight down the low flow toilet.
