When a bad parallel parker knocked the license plate off our bumper, the Brighton Autozone came to the rescue on short notice and at the end of the day. Very helpful getting the replacement parts and reattaching the license plate so we could be on our way again.

Great customer service from Sabino. Very very helpful with any questions I had and generous with his advice. The older guy that worked there was a jerk… not helpful at all and did not respond to questions… But 4 stars because of Sabino’s help.

I went to Allston Autozone to test my dead battery. They told me the battery was fine, and offered to recharge it for free. They even allowed me to pick up my battery after store hours when I got stuck in traffic. Great customer service, Thanks!

Worst customer service ever! Manager and employees only care about selling parts and not the customer. Go to advanced auto down the street for A+ service, and better pricing!

I went to Allston AUTOZONE on October 20, 2011 to buy a Battery and head light for my wife’s car.
the guy who was at the front desk is a Very polite young guy that speaks Spanish as a second language.
He checked the computer and did not rush showing me the different prices and battery quality. Also, he explained about rebates on head lights and how to get money back for the old battery.
The five star is for «him» and the other «young» guy that works there, but ere \s a third person over there that is always unhappy. If you go there, you will notice right away, try to avoid being seen by him if you want to have a good day.

I went in for a quick CEL, got their computer and hooked it up. I was surprised they didn’t bring an attendant out to check on me. But I hooked up the computer, they happily printed out the stuff and I was on my way in 10 minutes. Not bad. I think it was pretty standard and easy, so 3 stars.
If on a later date, I am blown away by anything here… I’ll post it up here, but this is pretty standard business.
*To note the «front door» with the grafitti is the «emergency exit door» and it is alarmed and locked, hence why the guy didn’t open it up for the previous Unilocaler.*

Having previously purchased a gag air freshener (peach scented Ed Hardy complete with cheese-​tacular art) here I though I ought to drop in to see if I could hit oil twice. I left with a manly air freshener from the line «Driven» (think Axe) for Dad (I can’t be the only girl to get Dad an air freshener for Father’s day) & a set of cotton candy scented little trees. Though the customer service was lackluster I thoroughly enjoyed the wall of air fresheners complete with scratch & sniff stickers.

This review isn’t so much for the business itself, but for one of its employees, Erol.
I came to Autozone a few weeks ago after getting a hefty scrape on my car. Those cement barricades can sure be pesky. Erol really took the time to explain the different types of waxes and products to me. After selling me the products, he came out to my car and tried them! When he realized one of the products wasn’t getting the job done, he went in and exchanged the product with one that worked really well. Based on the other reviews of this place, it sounds like Erol may be a diamond in the rough. If you need car supplies and are heading to Autozone, definitely ask for him.

So when I got back into town after four months, my car’s battery was predictably dead. I checked online to figure out where I could buy a battery charger, and found an Auto Zone within a few blocks of the Packard’s Corner stop on the B-​line. I hopped on the train and headed in, and found the place without any trouble. Hitch number one: I was there within business hours, and the lights inside were on, but the glass door facing the street was locked (and covered with graffiti). I knocked when I saw an employee walk by, but they just glanced at me and kept moving. I almost gave up, but saw that there was an opening in the chain link fence so I walked around and found another door off of the sketchy parking lot.
I walked in and wandered around, eventually finding the charger I needed. This was the best part of my experience there. When I walked up to the check-​out counter the two staff members there (a young woman and an older man) continued a conversation in Spanish without even acknowledging my presence, completely ignoring me for about five minutes. There was nobody else there, patron or staff, but they just chatted as if I was the least important thing in the world. When they finished up the man wandered off and the young woman grabbed the charger and walked down to another register without saying a word to me. I followed her down the counter, smiled, and said hello. She looked up for a moment, saying nothing and without a change in expression, and looked back down to her screen.
She rang me up without a word, shoved the receipt my way, and then turned to leave. I thanked her in Spanish, and asked if I could please have a bag for my purchase. She looked very put out, and huffily handed me a plastic bag (not bagging my purchase for me), and then walked away again.
I’d give them one star, but they did have the charger I needed, and it was fairly inexpensive. Incredibly, awfully horribly terrible service.

This place is just a big ball of sadness. There were two employees staffing the place today. Employee number one was angry, rude, and impatient. Employee number two was tired, depressed, and slow.
They were treating customers badly, and customers seemed to reciprocate the attitude, thus causing them to treat other customers even worse, so on and so forth. The place was like a whirlpool of bad feelings.
Not a happy place. I highly doubt I’ll return.
Plus these guys never shovel the sidewalk in front of their shop. Having now met their employees — I’m not the least bit surprised.

In a way, Unilocal has changed how I see my world. Everything, be it supermarket, restaurant, clothing store, park, statue, presidential candidate or crack in the sidewalk, starts out with three stars. Any number of factors may increase or decrease those stars but everything starts with three.
I needed a tire pump for my bicycle. I went to two bike stores, one sporting goods store, and Target. The pumps I found suitable cost between thirty and forty dollars, more than I wanted to spend. Yesterday, I went to AutoZone. I wandered the aisles and saw nothing. I saw air pressure gauges, cans of sealant, and tire inflating accessories for air compressors but no old-​fashioned, hand-​operated tire pumps.
I’m a guy: I don’t ask for directions if I can help it and I don’t like asking for help finding something in a store, but I asked the guy behind the counter. «Aisle Two, on your left,» he said. «Green box.» I went back to Aisle Two, l looked on the left, I found the green boxes. For $ 9.99, I walked out of AutoZone with a foot-​operated air pump, with pressure gauge. There you have it: Helpful staff, more or less the item I wanted, decent price. Three stars.
I don’t own a car so I probably won’t be back anytime soon to see whether those stars hold but if I needed anything auto-​related, AutoZone would be on my list.
