Went for dinner a few nights ago. We had their queso, fajita, and taco salad. Everything was wonderful, fresh, and had tons of flavor. Service was quick, and friendly.

Very cute little spot, came here twice with my family and was impressed both times– the queso cheese dip was sooo good! My brothers loved the burritos! It’s nice to have Mexican food so close to home, gives a different option.

I’m ALWAYS on a mission to find a good SHRIMP burrito, which is practically impossible to find in inland central jersey without going so far as toSurf Taco or Bubbakoos. I saw my friends check in on Facebook a few times and randomly stopped in to see what they had to offer, order, and take home to eat. I was disappointed that shrimp burritos weren’t on the menu, but the guy at the desk suggested the build-your-own fish burrito. I was hesitant, but SWEETBABYJESUS it was quite possibly the best burrito I’ve had in a very long time. From now on, I promise myself one of those burritos every time I drive thru Allentown. …and if they happen to put shrimp on the menu, LOOKOUT! :)

Great service Food just ok Steak taco had large chunks of steak, too large, steak not very seasoned not great but not terrible either. They don’t offer corn tortilla, big minus. Build your own burrito was nice option

We should have known better. We were the only patrons on a Friday night. This was my first experience with tasteless Mexican food. Someone needs to tell the chef that there are ways to make your creations taste better than cardboard. And BROWN Guacamole… really! No Chips or salsa on the table, but you can buy some chips only for $ 4.99 after you buy the tiny $ 3.00 brown guacamole. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, even people I dislike. Three thumbs down.

This place is ok if you have no where else to go. We didn’t die from the food-colored green, red, and blue corn chips. We know they were dyed because the green ones turned the chicken green. The pico was old and the salsa was bland. The staff were sweet and attentive but the food needs a makeover.

Server was very nice and attentive. This was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the steak tacos. The tacos consisted of(3) flour tortillas with giant cubes of steak. The steak was tough, overcooked and definitely was previously frozen. There was absolutely ZERO seasoning on the steak. Needless to say, I ate one taco, paid the bill and left. I would not recommend this place.

Stopped after a baseball game. I got the veggie burrito — not a great value, flavor ok but literally a tsp of black beans a few green peppers, little lettuce, no rice. Not enough food for the size of wrap. Friend said fish burrito was good. My sons chicken strips were greasy. Next time I’ll drive an extra half hour to Belmar to 10th ave burrito. Where the burritos are worth it!

The lousy food didn’t match the decent service or the ok ambiance of this little tex mex eatery. The waitress was very nice and attentive; however, the chicken burrito was terrible! It was not only cold to the touch, it lacked anything that would even remotely resemble flavoring of any sort whatsoever. Outside if my norm, I asked for it to be removed from my bill, which the waitress kindly obliged. This place has great potential with a little kitchen facelift. I also had to dock another star for no chips or salsa provided, or even offered.

I was headed to a different restaurant but I saw this place and thought it looked cute. My 5 year old liked the look of it too so we decided to try it. My five year old loved it, there were chips and cheese dip… I thought it was ok. I did not like the dip as much as my child did. The guacamole was a little brown. I did not like the sauce of the fish taco, it had an irritating sweetness. I feel like this is a case of them not having enough business. The food is not cycling through fast enough. The waitress was great, she was attentive and super awesome to my sweet child. Bottom line: the food is ok. You will eat and be satisfied. They are very kid friendly, this is a huge bonus in my book.

Less than thrilled with the food! The waitress was very nice but that’s where the nice ended. The cheese dip was cold and had a film on top where they had attempted to heat it in the microwave but had failed. The chips were not fresh, but stale. Our fajitas were sizzling hot and the onions and peppers were good as were the beans… my husband had steak fajitas and honestly the meat tasted sour… the guacamole was brown and tasted awful. My chicken fajitas were bland and looked like a heated up chicken breast that you could buy from the frozen section of the market… not worth the $ 50 bucks!!!

Mac’s Tex Mex is an oasis of fresh, yummy food. I love building my own burrito! Fresh ingredients, great food, and a super-friendly staff is what you should expect from this wonderful family-owned business.

Bland and uninspired food. Everything lacked proper seasoning. Their food was fresh, however. I wanted to love Mac’s, as I live nearby. My husband’s fish burrito consisted mostly of rice and beans, hardly any fish at all. Our wings were missing the described bleu cheese and celery. The nachos were bland and void of even a whisper of heat. My steak tacos contained only little nubs of unflavored beef and a smidge of lettuce and tomato. The girl at the register was completely unaware of any of the specials advertised via an email that both my husband and I received. I had to give her my phone so she could view the email, then she showed someone else…

I’m not normally a fan of Tex-Mex, instead preferring many of the other styles of Mexican food, but I appreciated that this place was straight up about the type of food it was serving. This is actually some of the best Tex-Mex I’ve ever had outside of Texas. I did a build-your-own burrito, and one bite into it, I was wowed. The flavors were balanced, the ingredients fresh, and there were some novel flavors in there too. This place showed care and skill put into the food – whoever is in the kitchen seems to care a lot about quality. My girlfriend ordered a taco salad, and it was also very good. I heartily recommend this place. I don’t normally like Tex-Mex all that much because it can sometimes be greasy, salty, and otherwise bland, but this place had food that was fresh and flavorful and not too heavy.

I love tex mex. My favorite is the veggie burrito and usually get food from here at least 3 times a month.

I drive an hour to work each day and pass this place both ways. I saw when it opened and have been wanting to go in for a long time now. I finally stopped in today. Nice little place, very friendly people. But that’s where the good stuff ends. Typical Tex Mex type food, except for 99 cents more you can add french fries and chili to your burritos. I had to mention this to the cashier. She should have tried to up sell me on it. You do that 10 times a day x 30 days a month that’s an extra $ 300 in revenue to help your new business. But anyway back to the food. I ordered a Steak Fajita Burrito. Like reviewer Jennifer J said about the chicken burrito. the meat was not seasoned. Mine was just some skirt steak I can buy in the supermarket. Was very bland tasting. Did they even season the meat with salt at least? I definitely wouldn’t call it fajita. When I think fajita I think steak strips with seasoning of some sort. or marinated. It’s got black beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, bell peppers, onions, and shredded cheese also in the burrito. There was plenty of everything except steak. I told you I also added french fries and chili to my burrito. Lots of fries in there, but if there was chili in there I really couldn’t tell. It didn’t really help the burrito. The burrito was very dry and could have used some kind of sauce. Maybe you should make up some sauces. a verde, a hot one, etc. Or maybe I should have been told to order a side of salsa. Not worth $ 9.99 I paid. I also agree with the other reviewer Jennifer where she said she could get a tastier burrito at Taco Bell(and cheaper too). I also ordered the Queso Dip. It’s tasty, but more like soup than a cheese dip. This would have been GREAT on top of the burrito, but I don’t think the portion was worth the $ 6.99 price tag.

The food was typical Mexican(tacos, burritos, fajitas) but it was flavorful and fresh, and came out very fast. The steak tacos came with all the toppings you could want, and the fried ice cream was to die for! Definitely will return, and will try take out too.

This location has changed hands quite a few times. Maybe it’s the small town. It could even be that the businesses were a poor fit. Got a good feeling about this one. The new guy is Mac’s Tex Mex and the food is awesome. I was understandably cautious so I thought to try something simple. I ordered nachos and boy were they loaded. Just the right amount of everything. Friendly ownership and great service. If you stop by, try the chili cheese fries as well… Good eatin in a great town.
