The service was great… by our waiter… That’s about it! I took my son there right after graduation, which was right across the street for dinner and the food was less than desirable, for sure. Then there were the gnats… yuk… flying over our food and in between our conversation the whole time we were there. Our waiter came over to ask us how things were going and we told him not so good and so he got the manager. Manager comes over, we explain and basically he had nothing to say… he appeared dumbfounded and said«I don’t know what to say» X3! I proceeded to tell our waiter we will never return here, that’s for sure. So their remedy… they took $ 75 off our bill… Sorry not impressed.

They need to add some more vegetarian selections to the menu. Food was very average for the price.

Girls behind the bar did not have a clue. I left after four minutes. Sorry, I expect silly service for a 30 $ dish. Get your staff in check to where they know what simple service is.

We had an absolutely amazing evening. The food was excellent. Salmon was perfect, oyster were very good and fresh. My wife had the steak. It was very good s little underdone, but it was promptly fixed. Cesar salad was very good also. Staff was amazing!!! They were very upset because the steak was right. They truly wanted to make us happy. Great job Victor. We will return

Hook is by far the WORSTRESTAURANTINALLENTOWN hands down I went in bought a drink she filled it half way and I asked why it was filled half way and she called me a Jew… I am a minority and as soon as I walked into this place I got weird looks, many of my friends that have been here, have been treated very bad! But I wanted to experience this first hand, I didn’t want to go off of word of mouth! The worst service ever and on top of this the food wasn’t great! I do not recommend anyone to go here if you are going to jack up prices for a good meal by all means but to have bad service and bad food you can kindly stick that«hook» where the sun don’t shine !!! Wish I can give it less than one star!!!

As soon as I saw Hook was one of the participants in the Hamilton district’s restaurant week I made a reservation. They were offering a 3-course meal for $ 38. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the host and shown to our table. The inside of the restaurant is decorated beautifully and the tables are not only classy, but super comfortable as well. Our waitress was helpful and accommodating throughout our entire visit and all the food was delicious. Out of everything I tried my favorite item was the New England Clam Chowder. By far, the best I’ve ever had!

Myself and 7 other friends had reservations last night. They were extremely accommodating with seating and the décor inside is absolutely stunning. We ordered appetizers and everything came out together, hot and delicious. Amazing selection of fresh fish and even a raw bar! Now, my boyfriend had the filet mignon and I even suggested he order fish, but let me tell you. This filet mignon was the best in the valley. You could cut it with a fork! So tender! Chef Bradley came to the front of house to greet us and he was so warm and welcoming. He most definately has a passion for cooking and it was evident last night. Our experience at Hook overall was excellent and I will be returning as well as sharing my experience with others.

Went here on Saturday night during restaurant week. It was maybe half full, which should have been our first clue. Our waiter was very eager, but terrible. Took forever to get our drinks(we saw them languishing on the bar for 20 minutes — a beer & glass of wine). Food came out slowly & blamed on the kitchen being«backed up» which made no sense since the restaurant was empty. Food was tasty, but service was so bad, we would never come back here. Overheard the table near us say their bill was incorrect 3 times; another table didn’t have anyone come over for at least 15 minutes after they were seated. There was no attention to detail like you would find at a high end place. We wanted to warn new guests who were coming in to get out before they got trapped into a terrible experience.

I started working here on a Thursday for my first training shift, let’s just say I left before it ended due to the bar manager! The bar was absolutely gross, fruit flys in bottles, dead fruit flys on glasses, spilled juices in the fridge and expired mixes! I brought it to the attention of my wonderful trainer that every bottle I picked up had MASS amount of DeAD fruit flys! He looked just as disgusted as me. He brought it to the bar managers attention who DiD Not Care! He ended up just filtering out the bugs and POURING the liquor BACK into the bottles!!! Not ONlY ILLEGALBUT repulsive! I than told him that it was completely disgusting and he had not a care in the world and walked away from me! Considering he had no respect for people who were paying to drink Alcohol with DEAD bugs in it made me leave because he obviously had no respect for anyone else! Very Disappointed in this«high class» establishment!

If I could give zero I would. Waiter kept complaining about his leg, didn’t know what liquors they had, took forever to get our drinks, poured a Manhattan on my colleague’s jacket, fired the entrees at different times, forgot my colleagues second drink entirely and apologized on three different occasions for forgetting and having been reminded of three different requests(drinks, utensils and the bill). If the service weren’t deplorable enough… the bread was cold, the ‘raw plate’ overlooked… yep you read that right :)

Beautiful renovation. Went on Valentine’s Day. My husband had scallops, said were good but there was sand in some. I had the seafood scampi, was good but again, a grain of sand in a shrimp!? Never had that happen with a shrimp. Spoke to the waiter about it and he said he told the manager. Manager never addressed it with us. Not even an apology.

I went here on a Saturday night February 13th for valentine day with my wife and kids. There are two negative things I experience the whole night. 1, was finding a parking spot which took 30 mins because of the phantom event which was to be expected but a bit too long. 2nd was the wait for the entrée which took about 50 – 55 mins. My overall experience was pleasant. The service was attentive to us and the kids. While the food was a long wait, it was worth it. The rack of lamb was delicious. My wife enjoy her salmon very much and presentation of the dish was nice. This place is a definite improvement from cosmopolitan and unlike Cosmos, we will come back again to eat.

New menu, still need a few glitches worked out. After reading previous reviews, I commented to my friend that there were references to service and dropping things. We counted several different servers dropping: wine bottle, silverware, almost tipping over a water glass. In terms of food, it is a new menu as of late January. Pros: Chorizo mussels, guys liked scallops, Wine and cocktail list, friendly(if a bit clumsy!) servers, décor, close parking. Cons: No specials(«too close to Valentines Day» which was 8 days away?), I ordered a crab cake appetizer and it came in entrée portion(hopefully charged for appetizer), husband never received salad(which he forgot about until end of his meal), crab cakes were loaded with crabmeat, but flavor a bit strong and not seasoned much. I’d give it a chance, but make sure you get what you ordered!

The food is amazing! The décor is spectacular and the service was perfect. It wasn’t busy which is a shame. More people should enjoy this place. I’ll be back for sure!

This place was pretty good. The people working there were so nice and very attentive. One thing I didn’t like was they were out of bread and all the desserts! That’s weird. And when you walked in it was a strong fishy smell. Yes I know it is a sea food place but it was pretty strong. The food we got was really good. Everyone liked what they got. The drinks were pretty great as well. They even made is fresh sangria! Overall, a good experience. Probably won’t go back but it was very good.

Truly delicious food, and great service. We started with one of each of the 3 oysters they had, and honestly they were the best oysters I’ve had since I’ve been in San Francisco. The vinegar appeared to be home-improved and was delicious as a little topper. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio(Ecco Domani) which was perfectly not too cold(some whites are served too cold to really taste, in my opinion). For dinner, I had the Downtown Salad(pictured) which was delicious. Organic lettuce, perfect amount of dressing, but the filet of salmon was cooked honestly perfectly. The lobster tail was slightly char-grilled, a little bit salted… it was a little hard to get out of the shell but worth the«work». My bf had the Seafood Platter(broiled) and it was a lot more food than it first looked like. The shrimp and scallops on that platter were perfect. We did not get dessert. The rolls were fine, but nothing to comment on. Would definitely go back!

First time here for lunch since becoming«Hook.» Besides some pictures, ship steering wheel, and some new pillows the place looks the same. Me and a colleague ordered the $ 15 express lunch option. The $ 15 lunch includes house or ceaser salad, choice if main dish(crab cake, fish fillet, fish & chips, short rib Burger, and more), and dessert(white chocolate cheesecake or gourmet choc chip cookie on that day). This is an awesome deal for this caliber of restaurant in this neighborhood. I typically spend $ 15 – 20 for just a lunch dish. I had the ceaser, crab cake served with a spicy Jamaican sauce and salad(?), coleslaw and cookie dessert. My food was excellent but I should have opted for the fries. The cookie was also delicious! My friend ordered the fillet served in a white whine caper sauce and liked it very much. Good job Hook! I will be back. You cannot beat this lunch special! Will take my team here for our Holiday lunch. Will try Hook for dinner before adding another star.

Beautiful building & décor. Great happy hour drinks and menu items. Starts at 4 pm which is good to get some of the downtown workers before they head elsewhere. The point others have made about Valet parking is correct, it should be available in a place this nice.

Dined here yesterday and arrived at the later end of the evening so parking was not an issue. As another reviewer wrote, it is definitely not an area you want to be walking around in late at night. That said, our waiter was great, everyone was friendly and the décor is beautiful. However, the food was good but not spectacular. I was surprised to know that the salmon they serve is farm raised and not wild. As the other reviewer stated, the portions are small and yes, there is no dessert menu. All in all, it is a new restaurant and as such may have to tweak things a bit to get it right. For now, there are other fantastic restaurants in the Lehigh Valley area that offer fresh seafood and are better than this one.

The food was delicious, I got the Butter Poached Lobster, a full tail and two claws on top of a yummy coconut milk curry sauce without the mess of shelling a whole lobster. He got salmon, cooked to perfection. Calamari to start and crème brûlée to finish, everything was very tasty with fresh and high quality ingredients. The interior still has a similar feeling to the elegance of the previous Cosmopolitan. I felt really comfortable and look forward to my next visit.
