great place for take out! The eggplant dish is excellent, very fresh and flavorful. It’s served cold but I heated it and liked it even more that way. The labneh has dill which I’m not used to but it was very good.

These guys cursed to my friend because of not tipping them. before cooking and serving staff needs to learn how to behave as a person. anyway after they finish their meal they left the restaurant. one of the staff stopped my friend and asked why didn’t u tip? i personally always tip but if i encounter with rude behaviors i don’t.that’s body can judge me.right.

Found this place thanks to Unilocal! Was a little unsure when we drove up since it was dark and it looked like it was just a shop… but I’m so glad we went in! My husband and I shared a large salad as an appetizer and it was delicious. I also had a Turkish tea. For my entrée, I ordered the Iskender and it was amazing! It was not what i pictured in my head(but that’s ok). It had bread with yogurt on the bottom with meat with tomato sauce on top. I would definitely come back again and I might just have the same thing I had tonight!

Absolutely wonderful! I ate the kebab lunch, with lentil soup and I was impressed by the freshness of ingredients. The service was great as well. I will be coming here again, next time I am in the area.

Just one of those obscure places you drive by and barely notice. Someone suggests you try it. Amazing. Nice people, dishes come out looking very attractive. Then the delightful tastes. Really is worth a try. Becoming a regular. Meat dishes or vegetarian, they have you covered. This is not a fast food place. Slow down and relax.

While the food was excellent, I had three concerns with this restaurant. First and foremost is the location. It’s attached to a store and the ambiance inside the restaurant isn’t that great. Next, the wait time for the food was excessively long. We came in and there was only one couple in the restaurant and it took 20 minutes to get our food. Finally, the cost is high, especially given my other two concerns. Even though I liked the food, the restaurant definitely has some drawbacks.

We come to this restaurant often. Today was an ‘off’ day for them. The service was very good, they had two waiters working. We have gone on days when they only have one serving and you wait for everything. Now, about the food. My husband and I come here for the hummus alone. I think it is the best tasting hummus in the Lehigh Valley. We cannot find another Mid-East restaurant that has hummus that is this delicious. Well, today it was off. It did not have much flavor and was just middle of the road hummus. Maybe they had a new or different cook making the hummus; but, today it was not up to par. I had the chicken and lamb Kabob combo. The chicken was excellent; but, the lamb was really disappointing. It was extremely tough. That was the first time I got the lamb and will be the last. I usually get the beef and chicken combo and the beef has always been good. We will definitely return to this restaurant; it is our favorite Mid-Eastern restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. This was just a bit of an off day for the food quality.

First time and we had four different types of lamb kabobs. Excellent. The spicy veg dip? Wonderful. The coconut cake? Superbly sweet. The rice pudding? Absolutely divine! Definitely will return. Recommend reservations!

Amazing authentic Turkish cuisine with excellent service. Also has a small market attached so you can shop while you wait for your food! What more could you ask for?

Almost missed this one because it looks like a market from the outside. But the food was all delicious and the meat was perfectly cooked. Definitely glad we stopped here!

Don’t let the exterior fool you, there’s a gem awaiting inside. I haven’t had a bad meal yet and in fact it’s always been amazing. I haven’t shopped in the little store front yet but it’s on the«to do» list. Do yourself a favor and pop in for lunch some day. With all the lunch specials you get a soup and choice of beverage. I’ve had both the lentil and lamb soup which were both delicious. I also highly recommend the Turkish tea. Last tip: definitely order the Ezme dip, you won’t regret it!

My husband and I ate lunch here a couple weeks ago. It was good, but not as good as we have had. After reading through reviews, I would like to go back and try some different things to get a better idea of the food. For our meal he got the Donner kabob and a Turkish soda and I got the falafel sandwich and iced tea. This was his first sandwich like this, so he had nothing to compare it to. His opinion on it was«good, but prefer other sandwiches.» My falafel was good, but I found it difficult to eat. We had no napkins and nobody came around to check on us. I didn’t really enjoy having falafel on my face. It appeared that regulars got better service. This doesn’t happen at the middle eastern restaurant we usually eat at, so that is one big strike. The bread looked and and I really wanted to try it, so I might be back, probably for takeout.

Having travelled extensively throughout the middle east and Turkey, I often crave some good middle eastern cuisine here in the Lehigh Valley. For the 8 years I have been in the Lehigh Valley, Aci halal does well to satisfy my cravings. The waitstaff there is extremely friendly and offer great suggestions. My favorite items from their menu, which offers a nice variety of Turkish food, is the babagonoush(roasted eggplant pureed with tahini, lemon and spices) served with home made bread and the Iskender kebab. Iskender kebab is one of my favorite Turkish dishes and having sampled home made Iskender in Turkey as well as joints in several Turkish cities, I can safely say Aci halal ranks as one of the best I have had. Iskender kebab is a delectable dish consisting of layers of crispy, fresh pide bread, doner kebab(ground lamb kebab from a rotating rotisserie), butter, yoghurt and their incredible home made tomato sauce. The symphony of taste, textures and temperatures simply explode on our taste receptors. You need to try it to really feel that burst of foodgasm. Also for those trying iskender, bring your appetite, because the portion size is huge. I also like their Mercemek(pronounced Marjemek) kofte which is fine bulgur and red lentil balls. Squeeze on a little lemon and have it with some lettuce. Its fresh and a wonderful way to start your meal. Its a BYOB establishment, and if one is really looking for a Turkish experience, get some RakI(Turkish national drink) add some chilled water and enjoy! Their Doner kebab is quite decent as well. My only criticism would be the flavor of their other kebabs could be more flavorful. The cook on the meat is almost always perfect, but it could use a little more flavor. As a good accompaniment to the meal, order some Aryan(a salty yoghurt based drink) to wash down the succulent meats and subtle flavors. If one is looking for a nice wine to go with the meal, I suggest a Pinot with spicy tones. Enough of my blabberings, just go there and try their food and maybe buy yourself some Turkish goodies(from the grocery in the front of the restaurant) on your way out. Cheers!

Great service! Very generous in food quantities, and the food is delicious. They provide a variety of different dishes, and will change things up to meet your needs. Everything is freshly cooked. I love their soups, chicken kebabs, and the rice pudding is off the chain! The restaurant also has a small grocery/meat store attached to it which is convenient.

Just around the corner from Allentown’s Greyhound station, Aci Kebab will probably be my pre– and post-travel go-to. This first time, I got an Adana Pita — seasoned minced lamb with bell peppers, served with whatever the Turks call tzatziki sauce. The meat is ridiculously fresh, due to the attached Halal butcher shop. I also tried what the server called«Turkish Sprite,» which tastes just like bubble gum(without being nauseatingly sweet). What will keep me coming back, really, is probably the service even more than the food. The Turkish staff is friendly & more than happy to answer questions… even lots & lots of questions. About the food, the beverages, the items in the precious little grocery shop, the butchering, how long they’ve been in America, how many languages they speak, what they miss most there & appreciate most here. And they are pleased to make recommendations when asked! They have take-out, and they DO accept credit cards without a minimum purchase requirement.

This was such a delightful lunch I had today with a friend who suggested this restaurant and one I will always return to each time I’ll be visiting family from out the state. I’m not into rice but the pita bread is a great compliment to the appetizers we ordered and so many tasty choices. The food was delicious, the service was good and the atmosphere friendly!!!

Second time going to this place and it is really a hidden gem, Amazingly accommodating on both occasions for Vegans a lot of options. We had a little bit of everything; the Red Lentil rolls, shepard salad, falafels, Hummus with pita bread which is vegan(they showed us the bag of ingredients.), A eggplant dish with roasted peppers that tasted similar to eggplant parm not fried very delicious! I cannot recommend this place enough something for everyone one our meat eating family was equally as satisfied. Homemade very fresh super friendly 10 out of 10 ! *Only hop skip and a jump away from Vegan Treats Bakery to boot for a terrific finish of great desserts ;)

I guess I had higher expectations after seeing the high rating. Got there around 12 and there was only one table. After 10 – 15 minutes, the place was bustling! I guess we came in right before the crowd. The waiter was a bit slow given that we were the only table — granted there was a large party coming in but we were ready to order and he was still tending to the large party(maybe they are regulars?) and making two hungry people wait! We ordered a warm appetizer of falafel(4 very large balls), and a chicken gyro(comes with lettuce, tomato and onion) and a beef/lamb gyro. The pita bread that came before our gyro came out was so good! it was warm, and fluffy. I stuffed the falafel into the bread with some of the shredded lettuce that came with falafel to make my own sandwich. YUMMY with hot sauce(sriracha was the only thing they carried). I think I still prefer Marmoun’s in NY/NJ though. The chicken gyro was okay. it was a large portion, but chicken was a bit dry. Maybe we just didn’t order the right thing but it was very ‘meh’ for me.
