Never knew this placed existed until someone I follow on Instagram posted a photo of the pretty lake. Curious me and the love for nature walks I needed to explore it quick before the cold weather sets in. So glad I did! Easy peaceful trail that goes around the lake with lots of wildlife beauty. Picked up a pamphlet when entering the park …(oops they say it’s not a park but a natural area.) to map out the area. It’s not a long trail, but there’s so much beauty that you’ll be stopping in no time to take pictures or just enjoy the surroundings. It’s the middle of August and it was hot, but all the trees and the green tunnel path gives you a nice shade that you don’t mind the heat. On this day we encountered a mama deer and her baby which for me was a highlight. A little further down the path we we saw flock of wild turkeys… Another highlight ;-). Plenty of different species of birds and oh my gosh !!! The dragonflies are so beautiful!!! Can’t wait to go back in the fall and see how this magical place transforms. By the way… If you have never been here and want to visit, be aware that the parking lot is very small. We had to wait for someone to leave so we could park. It’s the only downfall of this wonderland, but I still give it 5 stars.

what a cool spot for a short walk! We had a nice, not too hot day and after gps– ing something that doesn’t really have an address, we saw a few cars parked on the side of the road and assumed that was the entrance. We parked in one of the nearby blocks and walked across the street. We picked up a little map at the entrance and away we went. We saw turtles, woodpeckers, herons, chipmunks and we came THISCLOSE to a momma deer and 3 babies. It was totally awesome. There are a few lookouts you can climb up and check out the view, so nice and romantic! :) I would definitely go back, it was quiet, serene and smelled so lovely, I loved walking the path and just really enjoying the sights and smells of everything. I don’t know what took me so long to get there, but I am glad I finally did!

A nice little nature preserve, this is a hidden gem(or I’m calling it that because I grew up within twenty minutes of this place and didn’t know about it till recently). There are marked trails, a few ponds, and if you walk around you’ll see turtles, fish, herons, chipmunks, deer. Maybe not all of them but some. There are benches here and there along the trails, and a couple of elevated platforms allowing for better views. Signs by the ponds warn you to skate at your own risk – I wasn’t sure what this meant until I realized people skate on them in winter. You’re never very far from a road here and you can see houses at the edges, but it’s very quiet and feels farther into nature than it really is.
