I love Dr. Douangphila. Great experience — I got my exam there last year and walked away with a prescription in hand and sent it right into Warby Parker. When I told her I was going to send it into Warby Parker to buy glasses she did indeed scowl me a little but it was in a very sister-​like way. I thought it was hilarious and went on to tell her it was cheaper and that I was sorry. LOL. Great optometrist, cute office, and next year, I’ll support her small office by purchasing a pair of glasses in-​house even if it is a little more. #supportsmallbusinesses

My experience at OptimEyes Optometry was just wonderful. Dr. Douangphila is top notch. She is very thorough, doesn’t rush, and personable when examining your eyes. The staff is also so friendly and positive.

In December of 2014 I went to Dr. Douangphila for an exam. She was able to get me an appointment quickly and during the exam she was very friendly. However, following my exam I asked for my pupilary distance, which I needed in order to fill my eyeglass prescription online through Warby Parker and Zenni Optical. Dr. D refused to give me the PD measurement stating that she cannot guarantee that the online sellers will get the prescription correct and went on to inform me that the online sellers use inferior frames and lenses. I decided not to fight it at the time and just went to the Warby Parker store in Dallas where the measured the PD for me, allowing me to purchase my glasses. Of note, I ordered a pair from Warby Parker ($ 95) and a rimless pair from Zenni Optical ($ 34). Both pairs look great and I see perfectly out of both of them.
Fast forward to today. I had ordered another pair of prescription glasses to exhaust this year’s FSS account, this time through
. After I had sent in my order, they needed a copy of my prescription in order to start the glasses. I called Dr. D’s office and was told my prescription had expired a week ago and they would need me to come in for a new exam. When I told them that I had already ordered my glasses prior to the expiration date, they begrudgingly emailed me the prescription, writing a big X through the prescription with «do not fill, prescription expired» in huge letters.
I normally let these kinds of things roll off my back, but judging from my experience with Dr. D’s office, it appears this is a regular practice. See Rachel C’s review below. I understand protecting your bottom line Dr. D, but when as a consumer I do my homework and find that I can get comparable glasses at 50% to 75% lower cost than what you charge in your store, I feel like I should have the right to save myself some cash.

is accepting the prescription since I ordered the glasses prior to it expiring. I’m getting a pair of Rayban eyeglasses with Trivex lenses featuring an anti-​glare and anti-​reflective coating. All for just over $ 200. I’d give you no stars if I could.

Dr. D was very thorough with my eye exam. she is very knowledgable and accommodating. They also had a great variety of frames, such as Tom Ford! I had a great experience and will definitely be returning yearly! Thanks!

Great eye clinic! I am new to the area and once I called, Dr. D got me in right away! She made my visit very affordable and easy! They offered a reasonable deal to purchase eye glasses (along with the Contact Lens Exam.) My glasses were ready for pickup in less than a week and the office help that was there was extremely welcoming.
I would highly recommend this business for anyone in need of a reasonably priced and quality eye exam!

They charged me $ 50 more for 2 boxes of contacts than I could have bought them for almost anywhere! Then (as I always do) I ripped, dropped, or otherwise mucked off several in a short period of time. So when I went online to buy more THEY DENIED MY PRESCRIPTION! Saying they’d only allow me to buy 12 pair a year. Then after NOT LISTENING TO ME, INTERRUPTING REPEATEDLY, AND SPEAKING TO ME IN A VERY CONDESCENDING MANNER, the woman from the office tells me «Dr D is willing to make a „one time“ exception and allow you to renew the prescription» mind you I’d paid their office over $ 450 for contacts and an exam less than 2 months prior.
The office has very little business and the doctor did not even offer to fit me in a new kind of contacts even though I knew that new kinds had been made since I’d last gotten an eye exam. She simply renewed my old prescription and she was so eager to over charge me for my contacts that she insisted i commit to and pay for them the same day as the exam. Bc she knew she was scamming me and didn’t want me to go home and look at the prices online.
As far as I’m concerned this is a business that doesn’t treat customers right and I wouldn’t patronize them if my life depended on it. Check out Eyes of Starwood in Frisco. They are awesome. It’s a bit of a trek from Allen but well worth it when you get the pleasure of a doctor who actually cares about her patients. Instead of one who spends her time ripping off single moms like me!!!

Service was very good. We made an appointment and had no wait. No wait with the follow up appointment either. The doctor was very thorough, informative, and friendly. I chose this optometrist because of the reviews and I needed to make an appointment on a Saturday. I was very happy with my choice.

Dr. D is great, she’s super friendly and really knows her stuff. Office is super clean. Getting an appointment is never a problem. Definitely recommend her for anyone looking for an eye exam/​glasses/​contacts.

I highly recommend Dr. Douangphila especially if you have bad astigmatism and your eyesight continually gets worse. The thing that amazed me about her was that she was able to tweak my right eye contact by 10 more axis digits and give me clearer vision than what I was seeing through my contacts already. It’s been several years since somebody readjusted the right axis. Recently, my friend got an eye infection and he went to a doctor who gave him some drops that didn’t help at all. We decided to travel from Fort Worth to Allen to see her. She recommended steroid drops and wrote him a prescription with written instructions. It cleared it right away; we should have gone to her in the first place.

I had been noticing a slight change in vision, so I called OptimEyes to schedule an eye exam. I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, they exceeded my expectations. Dr. Douangphila was great. She examined me and diagnosed what I was experiencing, sun damage. We were find the right lense and coatings for my glasses. Dr. D also gave me other recommendations to help my condition. Best of all, Dr. D did not try to sell me on things that I did not need.
In addition to Dr D, her staff was very knowledgeable and professional. I am extremely happy that I went to OptimEyes instead of one of the big chains. The attention to detail and level of personal service is unmatched. I highly recommend OptimEyes.

Excellent clinic! We happened to pick this dr from a list on insurance website and glad we did. We called for an appt and got in 2 hours later, it was great! Both she and the receptionist are really nice. We had questions about the forms and the recep’t. was very patient. After my husband’s exam, we were looking at different glasses. He must have tried on about 10 pairs. The recep’t. was so nice and she also gave opinions of how she thought each pair looked on him. There was a bit of going back and forth deciding which one looked and felt better. They never rushed us, told us to take our time, and were very helpful with the whole process. They also didn’t mind regular conversation. We complimented their holiday décor and a funny mug on the desk. Both took the time to really connect even though they were closing about 30 min later. We recommend this clinic to anyone.

I had to get glasses and contact lenses for the first time in my life and was very nervous about the whole experience. Dr. D at OptimEyes made me feel much better about everything. She was very friendly and professional and got everything handled for me in just one quick visit. She even showed me how to put my new contacts in without poking out my eyes! This is a great place to do business and I’ll definitely be coming here for future eye visits.

I went in for an eye exam because I needed a stronger prescription for my contact lenses; Dr. D was extremely sweet and patient throughout the procedure. I ended up getting a better brand of contacts at an affordable price and it has made such a huge difference!

I had LASIK three years ago and just recently noticed that my vision was suffering. I called Optimeyes and scheduled an appointment since they took my vision insurance. I mentioned to the lady on the phone that I’d had them worked on so they’d have all the information before I went in. Little did I know that I had been speaking directly with Dr. Douangphila.
When I went in, the doctor’s assistant took my measurements, then got me in with the doctor. There was no wait time and she (Dr. D) was quite wonderful. She examined me, told me that upon initial examination, it appeared I had cataracts. She advised a more thorough examination, which I took her up on. She did indeed determine that I have cataracts. She was wonderful and explained that because I’d had LASIK, I was not a candidate for contact lenses due to the increased risk for infection.
Dr. D helped me select a new pair of frames, made recommendations on the coatings/​lenses, etc. She was extremely helpful, courteous and made me feel right at home. I have already had her examine my daughter and will be referring my husband and son to her as well.

My father and I went in for an eye exam and we had a pretty good experience with Dr. Douangphila. My father had eyeglasses, the frame selection was pretty good and the price was pretty fair. The exam was very thorough and we felt very comfortable there.
I had contact lens exam and very happy with the lens I have now.
We will bring the rest of our family back here. We did not feel rush with the exam or selection of eyeglasses and the prescription works great.

My eyes had gotten really bad since I had my daughter, and my Chanel glasses were beat up from having a 1 year old. I was in the Allen area visiting family and my glasses finally gave out on me. I didn’t have contacts or backups and I’m ridiculously blind so I decided it was time to get a new pair.
Optimeyes carries awesome name brand frames like William Rast, and Gucci. I really liked my old frames so I found a pair made by Fysh that looked almost like my Chanel ones, for a lot less! I ended up getting glasses and contacts, Dr. D gave me a trial pair of contacts to wear until my order came in.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The Dr was sweet and patient, I tried on almost every pair because I’m picky like that lol. Also her office is really nice and new and clean! .Which is good because I had my 1 yr old with me and she was putting toys in her mouth and rolling around on the floor!

So i never even heard of Allen Tx, until my friend recently moved out here. I came to visit for a few days and one day my friend ended up having some eye issues and needed to see an eye doc ASAP. My friend also being new to the city herself took a chance and went to Optimeyes optometry and met with Dr. D. Turns out Dr. D recently opened her office as well. She was soooo nice and sooo funny and super welcoming! We all felt like long lost buddies! My friend was seen right away and while she was in the exam room, i ended up browsing and saw a super cute pair of Juicy couture sunglasses. I thought the sunglasses were very reasonably priced, loved them and bought them. As for my friend, although she didnt get to buy any cute glasses, Dr. D took great care of her and she felt better as soon as she used that «magical» eye drop Dr. D prescribed.
