NTB – National Tire & Battery

Took Amber here for an oil change, they Found an oil leak so they didn’t proceed with the change. Instead they topped it up with oil at no charge!
I don’t trust those corner store shops, and something told me to take it to the shop I found a few weeks ago but I had an awesome coupon for a $ 20 oil change and tire rotation so I took a chance. I was very impressed with how they kept me informed of every detail of issue that was doing as well as how all three of the workers took the time out to show me where the leak originated from. Great job guys!
Customer Service goes a long way especially when there is bad news to report.

Have a tire rotation warranty with this business. Had an appointment last night at 5 pm. They said it would still be an 1 ½ hr wait. Rescheduled for tonight at 5 pm. After a 45 min wait our truck was still not touched. Finally gave up!

The best oils change experience ever. I had a coupon I got from grocery shopping at Kroger and thought I give this place a try. It’s $ 19.95 for oil change and tire rotations. Can’t beat that. This place is clean and offer wifi and coffee. The staff there are all friend and professional. There’s a waiting room with a big window and you can see them work on your car through it.
I would definitely come back again.

Great place to take your car, customer service was amazing! The guy didn’t try to sell me all kinds of stuff I didn’t ask for, they did exactly what I came for, gave me their recommendations and that’s it. They were not pushy like your typical mechanic shop, and being a woman I did not feel like they were trying to take advantage of me.

Picked up a nail on my way to Tulsa. Nail was close enough to the sidewall that the tire needed to be replaced… ended up going with 4 tires due to limited tread and dry rot on the fronts and the rears being close to replacement time as well… they stayed open late and got me back on the road in record time… thanks to these guys for their prompt service and help

Was very satisfied with an oil change and tire rotation for my truck. Being able to watch the work was appreciated as the last time it was performed at the dealership the tires were not rotated even though it was part of the package purchased.
Watching the tech (Paul) perform the work, I saw him double check the securement of a heat /​splash shield under the unit and he even torqued the lug nuts vs. just driving them on. The price was fair. Mike the Mgr. was also very helpful in resolving an issue discovered during the service.
Work took about an hour and for being a «walk in» I thought that was very good.

We took our Explorer in on Sunday to have a tire patched. It had a staple/​nail in the middle of the tire and looked to be patchable. We left the Explorer there for several ours only to be called over 2 hours later and told that it couldn’t be fixed because it was a «staple» and they couldn’t patch two holes. They offered instead to replace the tire for $ 308+tax! Even if we had gotten the OE tire, everywhere else it was $ 200 or thereabouts.
They hadn’t even taken the tire off (or even the rim), nor had they looked at the hole on the inside of the tire. It should be noted that the staple sides were pushed together and only one hole was present.
I picked up the Explorer and waited to take it to our normal store the next day (on Monday), which is the Goodyear on Main Street in Allen. They took the tire off, verified the hole was fairly small and singular (e.g. one hole, not two). They had us up and going in less than 40 minutes, even though they were busy.
I’ll never go to an NTB again, because they obviously only wanted to up sell a new tire (and an over-​priced at that) without even bothering to check the issue itself.

Still don’t earn five stars. Yesterday when I called for an appointment, the guy sounded like he was looking at the screen and even updated my name. Today I went and this guy says, «So your appointment is 9:30». They don’t look for anything other than what I asked for, oil change and tire rotation got done in one hour and Wifi kept me entertained, but again, I am not sure I will keep doing the business.

Don’t waste your gas. Hispanic male rescheduled my oil change 3 times, and after the third time of making me drive up there I did not reschedule. He didn’t even bother calling me ahead of time. I plan on calling corporate.

Went to NTB in Allen last month (⁵⁄₂₀₁₄) for an oil change special. Tire rotation was to be included, but the mechanic recommended I not do it because «your front tires are worn more & you want the most tread on the rear». WRONG — I’ve always heard you want your best tread up front, for control. I told him I did want the tires rotated & he said OK, but when I got home I realized it wasn’t done. I’ll never return to this store — not only because of this — they were also evidently training a new front person & spent more time with him than with their 4 customers. All 4 of us just looked at each other while the workers talked. Took my truck to Discount Tire & got free rotation. No stars here!
