I haven’t been to Cracker Barrel since college when I was attending Baylor. Therefore I was kind of rusty on their signature dishes or their must-haves. I got the southwest hash and eggs as I wanted to go kind of safe but also a bit daring. The service was kind of off, but it could be because it was a post New Years weekend. The store within the restaurant was a great way to kill time for the table wait.

We were surprised at the level of service here on a Saturday morning. We were seated promotly, waitress came over immediately, and EVERY person we came in contact with was very pleasant. The food is great, I had mama’s french breakfast and it was delicious! The coffee is really good too. My biggest compliment would be for our waitress, Sonique(probably spelled that wrong!). She was such a breath of fresh air. She was happy, friendly, attentive, and even made suggestions for our meals. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to try lunch or dinner.

Sorry Allen(hometown) Cracker Barrel, your food and service is just bad. Server was in his own little world and couldn’t answer a simple question about sugar. Oatmeal was cold and full of lumpy globs of hard uncooked oatmeal. Hubby’s eggs and hash brown casserole were only slightly warm so he chowed them down fast before they cooled even more. When the cashier asked how it was, I was honest but she just shrugged me off and told me I should have taken that up with the server. I’ve had great experiences at other Cracker Barrels so I’ll just steer clear of this one.

Great service, friendly informal folks and good food. This is what Cracker Barrel is supposed to be like! We will be back!

The worst ever. Our waiter told us that the food would not be good. «It’s just a Cracker Barrel, man». Chewy steak, nasty ribs, cold mashed potatoes, greasy/salty greens. The only thing good was the green salad and the slaw. Abysmal service and not even a «thank you«from the cashier. Never again.

I ate here last night(allen location) under protest and I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great meal.(years ago I had a boring bland meal and didn’t want to come back) This time that was not the case. Thank goodness! The store was nice to browse through while waiting a our table. We found a lot of cute items & picked up a few birthday cards. The staff is all well trained and very friendly. Good service overall. We have been watching this being built for a while and my husband insists the Apple dumpling here is the best apple dessert. The main reason for coming here was to have it because I LOVE apple pie. I ordered trout, green beans & hash brown casserole. It was a wonderful combination. Little lemon on the fish & hash brown together, YUM! Good green beans too. From my husband’s plate, oh the hush puppies were AWESOME. Fresh warm fluffy cloud-like biscuits and cornbread are really good. OKay, the Apple Dumpling is DELicious. I still have another favorite but this dessert is right up there with the best. If you are on the fence about checking this place out, go for it. I enjoyed it. It was a good experience at a reasonable price. Next time, I won’t have to be tricked. I’ll go willingly. Enjoy!
