We pride ourselves on quality and taking our time to get the job done right. We are honest and provide a great job for a good price. For example when we resod a home we take the extra steps of first killing of the old lawn to prevent weeds and unwanted grasses from returning. Then we remove the dead lawn, haul it away, and completely rototill the yard. After that we bring in the necessary topsoil to grade yard level and install the new sod.

As for our lawn care service we also pay attention to detail. We bag the clippings upon request or when the grass is just too long to mulch. We edge concrete borders, weed whip, and blow off all left over debris when finished.

Also at JQLS we make sure to work with the customer to solve any problems that may arise. We have an open line of communication between our customers and employees and with our customers and management/​owner.

History

Established in 1992.

JQLS Lawn and Landscape started out as a very local lawn care company in 1992. (And that is where JQLS came from. When the company first started it was John’s Quality Lawn Service.) From 1992 to 1997 JQLS expanded it’s lawn care services to a larger area. In 1997 when the owner chose to stop working other jobs (Ford Motor Co.) and concentrate on growing his business, he expanded into landscaping. He trained with a couple other companies to learn how to properly install brick pavers, lay retaining walls, and how to properly install new sod.

JQLS now has a full time lawn maintenance crew, a full time landscaping crew, and a flex crew to take care of all your outdoor needs. JQLS has chose not to expand beyond this and be small enough to be a neighborhood company, but larger enough to tackle landscaping projects.

It has been a long journey for JQLS from cutting lawns in the neighborhood, but it has all been worth it!

John B.

Business Owner

John was born and raised and still resides in Allen Park, MI. He enjoys running his business and taking care of the customer. He prides himself on his honesty and dedication to the customers. John graduated from Allen Park High School in 1994 and while running his business attained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 2005. While he doesn’t necessarily use his degree to run his business, the journey of getting it taught him discipline and perseverance.

When not working John enjoys to travel and spend time with family and friends. He is also a big Detroit Tigers fan, enjoys weekly softball games, and golfing when time permits.
