I loved this place, but their quality slid down fast. They had a decent frozen patty burger, and clean beerlines. They had a wait staff of heavily tattooed waitresses and hipster bar tenders, and they were all very sincere and sweet. I hope they all find good work elsewhere as this bar is now closed. Good luck to the workers of capers, you guys did the best you could with what you had. I will miss it. Another downriver establishment dead.

I loved coming to capers occasionally for Myron’s Monstrosity or one of their other delicious sandwiches. I just went by there today though and they’re closed :(

Me and my mom both odered reubens from here and they were the worst we ever had. The meat was so fatty that most of it had to be thrown away. The service was also poor. We were the only ones in the restaurant and it took quite a while for our food to come out.

Went to Capers on the advice of friends and got a «Hangover Special». No donkeys or lost babies here! It was just what the Doctor ordered. Sliders piled high with greasy fries. Oh YUM!!! I thought I’d died and gone to heart attack heaven. The food was excellent!!! Decent drink prices and a nice waitstaff rounded out a very good experience. In the words of Arnold…“I’ll be back”.

Allows smoking. Even waitresses are smoking. Hope they close!

This place loses a star for the crappy mope rock bands that randomly perform here. I have been forced to leave by their«performances» more than once. Otherwise, its a decent place to eat and have a drink. Beer selection could be better.

Very first impression: they didn’t bring me a menu. Not because of poor customer service but because I came in with a recognized regular. Instead they walked up with two sodas before realizing that I was not the ‘other’ regular. It became evident very quickly that Capers is the kind of place that several call home, but not in that creepy«you ain’t from around here» kinda way; newcomers feel welcome too. I came for the $ 1.09 coney dogs, but really loved the Chicken Tortilla soup. The waitress told me it was great, and then later proclaimed, «they don’t pay me enough to lie!» She didn’t. The atmosphere seems like a cross between a darkened wood paneled bar with the comfort of a your own man-cave. Service was quick and incredibly friendly, food was great, and the prices were excellent. I’ll be adding this place to my go-to lunch list.
