Awesome shop. Always friendly and very helpful. My fiancé who’s not into comics has gone in looking to by me something as a gift. She’s always helped with fast friendly service. Judgement free zone. The crew that work there are fantastic. I love this place

Selection is great and I get the impression that they would be able to get you anything you want, however the prices are pretty high… even for back issues that are only 2 – 3 months old the mark up seems to be at least 20%. But they do have a bit of everything and for that it’s at least worth checking out!

huge and awesome comics and collectibles shop! friendly staff, very impressive and varied selection of toys and memorabilia, and very, very well organized back issues and graphic novels sections; i found two back issues of a comic i’d had some difficulty locating even online, and both were reasonably priced. LOVE that there is a designated gaming area that still leaves plenty of space for customers to browse the surrounding shelves. a great place to shop for kids of any age!

This is such a cool store! So many fun things to look at! My husband and I make trips out here from Saline so he can add to his Transformers collection and we always walk out the store with something :) Very friendly staff!

If you are not a comic nerd, they are rude to you. And if you ask questions, they try to make you feel dumb when they answer. I would rather order online then five these people a penny.

One of my favorite comic book store’s. They have tons of back issues with some of the best prices I have seen. I have comic books store’s right around the corner from me. But I will drive 20 mins out of my way just to pick up books that I know are at my local comic store just because this place is so cool. I always see something new when I go there. You can spend hours just looking at there huge toy collection. Definitely in my top 3 shops to go to.

This is place is the bomb The action figure selection is amazing. With price ranges from $ 10 dollars into the $ 100s You do not have to spend the monthly rent to get cool stuff. (I am not a comic book guy but they have quite a wide selection) Customer service is what sells me. I have a special needs child who has no patience for small toys with loose parts. Those usually get thrown across the room. And I am certaintly not going to buy a vintage piece for everyday use. Staff was super friendly in pointing me out to the huge selection of Transformer toys that were big and sturdy that could take some abuse. It did not matter to him or me that the fiqures were missing a few small parts Only that it was cool and colorful and at $ 10 bucks each its a bargain. Typical comic book stores usually have some nerdy over weight college kid working behind the counter who has zero customer service skills At Bens they know thier products and are happy to tell you all about it.

My absolute favorite shop I have been to in Michigan! I have been going here for years and have become a weekly regular. The staff is nice, funny and are always helpful. Each week they have in new stuff including toys, figures, collectables and all sorts of other items. I have gone there with friends who aren’t really into comics and even they have found treasures. It’s a fairly large comic store and it is full of great merchandise. Even if you aren’t in the area it’s worth the drive to take a visit. The only bad thing about this place is that I always end up buying more than I mean to!

I love Big Ben’s and have been going since I was wee little lass(which also means that I’ve followed their multiple location changes). It seems to get better every time I go and I love the people who work there. I always feel welcome(which is a big plus for a girl in a comic shop) and can always find more then I’m looking for. I will always go back.

This is bar-none the one establishment I miss the most since I made my move from AP to Livonia. I have been going to Ben’s stores in all their various names and locations for over 15 years. Ben and Gary are still holding down the fort after all these years in the best location yet(«downtown» where the old Hallmark shop used to be, near the theater). You feel welcomed at Ben’s and I gladly make the drive down every Wednesday to get my pulls. This is the comic shop that all others in Michigan aspire to be like. The prices are low-to-fair, especially in comparison to other stores in the area(I’m looking at you Wonderworld. You fool no one with those prices). The books have a LOGICAL order(recent back issues against the wall to the left, all new books are on the back left wall, all other back issues are arranged A-Z in the middle of the store). They have a vast collection of comics, busts/statues, graphic novels, toys, movie memorabilia, card games, heroclix, etc etc. It is nerd heaven. In this age of dwindling comic sales it’s hard to find a store in Michigan that does EVERYTHING right. Some have the selection, but only because their prices are too high. Some have good prices but no customer service. Ben and Gary just know how to get it done on all levels. It’s not even a debate. I’ve gone to every comic book shop within 2 hours drive of Allen Park(Ohio included) and Ben’s is simply the best.

I feel because I have a vajayjay I might be able to give a little more insight into this place. Call me crazy, but I’ve found most slovenly men that live in their parent’s basement, wearing shorts in the winter, clearly needing a shower, and walking around looking at comics and toys with a 2-L pop bottle might but a little biased on their reviews. I also figure for you nerdy women out there, you need an honest review because let’s be honest — men have no idea what they are talking about. :-D ;-D This place is easily accessible with their own parking lot with two different main-road entrances. It’s also next door to a pizza place, so if none of your friends know about your closet love of nerdy things and they see your car, you can always say you were grabbing a pizza. The interior of the place is also very neat and clean. I really stress the importance of this because it’s run by dudes. Let’s be honest, I always find the words«organized by men» and«clean/neat/looks great» when used in the same sentence to be oxymorons. I really have to hand it to these guys, especially Gary, for keeping the place orderly. I also know what you are thinking — yes, I do know a few of the guys who work there by name. NOJUDGMENTPEOPLE!!! All of their comics are in alphabetical order which is supremely helpful. While they are mainly comic books, they also have a large selection of collectible figures ranging from Marvel and DC to Night of the Living Dead Dolls, horror, manga/animé, and even other neat collectibles like magnets, cups, lunchboxes, posters, and even Barbies. I know, random, right??? The really nice thing about this place is if you have a weekly comic pull with them, they give you 20% off your comics. It’s a really nice discount to have. Especially, since I have a new-found addiction to The Walking Dead series. If you are in the downriver area and looking for your comic book home make sure you make it Big Ben’s. They are a nice and helpful group of guys that run the place. To me, it’s the customer service and the willingness to help and order items for you that make a good business to me.

Oh Big Ben’s, you make me happy. This is by far one of the best comic book stores that downriver has to offer. The store recently relocated back to downtown Allen Park on the main street with alot more space than the previous store. You can find everything to fit you needs here. Tons of trades, golden age comics, figures, memorabilia, etc. There is always great finds in the dollar comic boxes as well. They have a loyalty card system that tracks your spending and gives out rewards when you hit a certain point. The service provided is A+ as well, everyone is very knowledgeable and always willing to help you out.

Great environment, whether local or visiting from out of town any person who appreciates comics will love this place. Employees are very friendly and helpful to any needs that you have. Many new and old comics, collectibles, figures, ect. By weekly, every Wednesday they get in new comics.

Big Ben’s… huh, what is that? ohh it’s the old comix oasis from allen rd. which is why I quite going until they relocated back to downtown Allen Park. I didn’t even know it was the same place. Either way it feels like I am back home now when I come in and spend way to much time browsing there huge selection of trades, throwbacks, and currents sections. Seriously, I used to think Green Brain was the greatest place for comics, but after seeing the selection they have at Comix Oasis, I will not be going back to Green Brain. The guy who owns this place is really nice, knows his comics, and will bend over backwards to get you what you need if he doesn’t have it. This is a serious shop for comic junkies. They also have a huge selection of swag. The front of the stroe is lined with aisles and cases filled with action figures, shot glasses, lunch boxes, a few racks of shirts, trading cards, just all the little junk the type of dorks you find in these places would love. I don’t know if kids in AP and Melvindale know how spoiled they are to have such a complete comic book experience right in their backyard!
