BUYER BEWARE! My husband purchased a diamond ring at this store for me for Christmas. It needed sizing so I brought it in after Christmas to have it sized. I was told their jeweler didn’t show up for work that day so I left the ring and was told to return three days later. I did and the jeweler had still not shown up for work. I inquired as to when he would be there and the owner told me she didn’t know, so I picked up my ring and told her I wanted to wear my new ring and would take it to another jeweler to have it sized. She told me to make sure whoever sized it used a laser machine. So the store I took it to had a laser machine right there and I had them size my ring. Within a week, a diamond fell out of the setting. I took the ring back to West Coast Jewelers and the owner took the ring and said she would only replace it this one time and that if it happened again, she would charge me for any more lost diamonds. I left the ring with her and didn’t hear back from her for almost two weeks. When I was able to pick it up, she told me that they had to take it to someone at the Jewelry Mart in LA and that they «almost had to send it to Hong Kong» for repair. I have worn my ring for less than three months and now two different diamonds have fallen out of the setting. I decided to get a second opinion from a certified gemologist. What I found out made me cry. Apparently, when West Coast Jewelers sent my ring for replacement of the first diamond, they badly damaged the ring by cutting away what was already very thin metal to replace the lost diamond. The gemologist showed me under a microscope that the ring is actually a used ring and had extremely thin gold in the setting surrounding the diamonds and called the ring «a disaster» from a workmanship perspective. In one place, you could see the side of a diamond at the edge of the setting «through the metal.» I was shocked, especially when he told me the ring was basically only worth «scrap» for trade-​in value. This is the second piece of jewelry my husband has purchased from this store and both have had gems fall out of the setting. Needless to say, we’re considering legal action and not going back.

Honest people working here. Belated review. I visited the shop to get a repair done on my ROOTS watch. I thought the battery had gone dead and wasn’t working because I needed to replace it. So we replaced the battery here.
Guess what? My hypothesis was incorrect. It wasn’t the battery of the watch. So I told the lady working here that since it wasn’t working, she could have the battery back. She smiled and said I could have the battery for free. She explained that it wasn’t worth the time and labor to take it out. How nice. I plan to return here someday.
