History

Established in 1982.

Established in 1982, the Pacific Ballet Conservatory is a professional dance school devoted to providing dance instruction of the highest caliber in ballet, pointe, pas de deux, modern, jazz, tap, musical theater, pilates, and contemporary dance styles including hip hop. The Pacific Ballet Conservatory is proud of her students’ success over the years, with many students becoming professional dancers in major ballet companies such as the San Francisco Ballet and other professional dance organizations such as Universal Studios and Disneyland. This is realized through a tremendously talented staff of professional dance instructors with national and international résumés and a realistic plan for each student in order to help them progress.

Business Owner

Maryann Bayless, Artistic Director and Owner of Pacific Ballet Conservatory, started her studies at MercerArt with Camille Chrysler in Mercer Island, Washington, continuing on to Cornish University in Seattle, Washington. At the age of ten, she was selected to perform with the Bolshoi Ballet’s «Dance Class» in its Seattle visit. She studied with Robert Joffrey of the Joffrey Ballet for three consecutive summers, and was fortunate to pursue her studies in other scholarship programs with Richard Englund (Royal Ballet), Lew Christensen (San Francisco Ballet), Janet Reed and Kay Mazzo (New York City Ballet) and many others. Mrs. Bayless performed with Pacific Northwest Ballet and Seattle Opera Ballet. She also attended the University of Washington where she majored in Dance.
