Impulse Dance Center

I can’t even comprehend the negative reviews on here as we have had nothing but an amazingly warm and positive experience with Alexa and Impulse Dance. While my daughter does not currently take classes, we hired Alexa to choreograph a dance for a group of seven 8 and 9 year old girls for a talent show. Alexa was amazing from start to finish — highly responsive, impeccable follow-​through and extremely kind and supportive of the girls. She even ordered their costumes and fit them each individually and then altered them herself! I contacted her separately to see if my daughter could schedule a few private lessons for extra practice and she responded immediately — and when she felt my daughter was in a good place and well-​prepared, she even suggested that we cut the last lesson to a half-​hour even though she was going to lose money by shortening the lesson.
Today was the day of the talent show and Alexa («Miss Alexa» to all of our girls) even surprised them and showed up backstage to wish them luck and then sat in the audience for almost 2 hours just to watch their 2 minute performance.
My daughter has never wanted to do more than the occasional talent show but is now asking to take a Jazz class with Miss Alexa. I’m so happy to have found Alexa and Impulse Dance, and I’m thrilled to enroll my daughter in a class and dance studio where she feels cared for and supported.

I came to check out the studio and the teacher that was supposed to be there called out sick. The instructor, Claire, was great and let my toddler stay but you could tells she wasn’t sure what the normal class structure was. Because Claire was so nice I decided to look past the apparent confusion and mis-​management and sign my daughter up for class. On her first day there was no one at the studio, just another irate mother who noted how poorly managed it is. I would not recommend this studio to anyone.

I showed up with my toddler for her first dance class and the studio was locked, no note or anything! No one answered the phones or has contacted me. Very disappointed, very unprofessional.

Run! Stay far away from this place. Instructors are rude and the service is horrible. My wife and I had set up for our little 2-​year old to come and join a class to see if she would like to sign up for classes. All week long our daughter was talking about «dancing like Sofia» (Once upon a princess) and was so excited when the day finally came.
We called in the morning to make sure she was set up to join the class, and her tryout was confirmed. When we get there, the snotty teacher says that she cannot be in the class, but has to stand outside and watch through a window! Do you know how that feels for a 2-​year old? How can someone who works with kids all day think it is ok to tell a 2-​year old that she cannot join but that she can watch through a window? How do they think that made her feel? All of her excitement that has been bubbeling inside her little body all week disappeared and she was so sad and disappointed.
I would never put my kids in a class where the teacher shuts the door in a face on a 2-​year old who is so excited she can’t hardly stand still, and I hope you don’t either.
Oh, I also called and left a few messages, asking for a call back, which of course I never got.

Alexa has really turned this into a rocking studio for dancers of all ages. Kids classes by day, adult Swing and Tango by night, gotta dig it :)

This is the most disorganized studio in the O.C. Their customer service is horrible and the owner treats people with no respect. They over charge and take money out of your account illegally. I am reporting them to the BBB. If you love your kids you will not take them to Impulse Dance Center.

My 3 ½ year old daughter goes to the giggles and wiggles class. She is learning how to dance ballet and tap. She loves going here. The owner/​dance instructor Miss Alexa is great with the kids. We really enjoyed their past recital and we are looking forward to the big event in June. Love to see their performance after all their months of hard work.

Yasmin has a passion for providing a welcoming, yet challenging environment for students to learn. The instructors are all so talented and bring out the best in the girls. They all clearly love children, but are equally committed to their craft.
We have twin 6 year olds and a 3 year old and all of them are thriving and learning so much in the few short months we have been here. They are challenged technically and mentally, but they love it and can’t wait to go back.

Great studio! The instructors are all very professional and the dance rooms are pretty big.
