Baby Safe Homes is a professional baby and child proofing service. We provide in home baby safety evaluations and professionally install top quality baby safety products not available in most stores. We specialize in custom baby gates, cabinet and drawer latches, furniture & TV straps, electrical, bathroom, door and other baby safety while minimizing damage to your home. Baby Safe Homes is referred by dozens of pediatricians, Hoag Hospital, dulas, lactation consultants, and other family and baby professionals. We are certified installers and trainers for Family Safety Association and the International Association for Child Safety. With over 15 years of experience, 5 children of my own and thousands of homes babyproofed, we have the experience you can trust. If we can’t baby proof it, it can’t be done. I am direct and straight forward when performing my safety evaluations (which may at times come off as blunt or abrasive) but I call it like I see it. If a room is a safety nightmare for your baby, I will tell you. I will not recommend or install products that won’t work, are poor quality or provide a false sense of security. I will not rig anything (though I’ve been asked). If it can’t be done within my strict safety guidelines, I won’t do it. History

Established in 1997.

About six months after the birth of our first child in 1997, I set out to childproof my home and did what most parents do – head to the local retail store to purchase child safety devices. To my surprise, the employees lacked expertise, the selection of products poor, and quality of the merchandise mediocre. Returning home disappointed, I searched the Internet and browsed through catalogs. I ordered what I needed, and ten days later the items arrived. Though most of the products were good quality, many did not fit correctly or required some extensive know-​how to install. In addition, I spent a small fortune on shipping costs. I wondered…“Who has time for all this!?” A few weeks later, after my home was «baby safe», my concern grew for other families who may not have the time to find the best products nor the technical knowledge to properly install them. I had the desire to help families so their babies and toddlers could explore, learn and grow safely. Baby Safe Homes was Born.

Business Owner

Founder of Baby Safe Home, Inc. and Baby Safe Homes Franchise Corporation. Grew up near Los Angeles, CA and enjoyed building custom cars and working as an aircraft machinist through high school which helped to develop my mechanical skills and attention to detail. After moving to San Diego and earning a Marketing Degree from San Diego State University, I held several outside sales and management positions before being recruited as a sales trainer for a Fortune 25 company.

I met my wife Kim soon after graduating college and we have now been married for twenty years. We are the proud parents of four young boys ages, seven, ten, fifteen & seveteen, AND our newest arrival (a girl) born in January, 2013! Our mission to create safer environments for children was embarked upon following the birth of our first son, Erik. My frustration with inferior store bought products and concern for the safety of my first born son began my passion for child safety and the birth of Baby Safe Homes.
