Barney’s Bar And Grille

Barney’s is my «go-​to» for lunch at least 2 days a week. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal there and the service is always great. The daily specials are fresh and the rotating tap is always in season. I would recommend the chicken or steak salads, any one of the specialty burgers and especially the pepperoni balls!

I like to go there for lunch when I’m in town, the food is average for pub food, I’ve only tried a couple menu items but I can say the cheese sticks are off the hook!

Barneys is a place my boo frequents often and I’ve been to once or twice. The food is delicious, not your average tasting pub food it’s just better than most places. I’ve had unpleasant experiences here before but today was somewhat of an exception… We walked into to a dark, silent bar with a few patrons nursing hangovers with beers (1 pm) which was sad and depressing but we sat in the restaurant area with no one in it so the solace was pleasant lol. Server seemed new and a bit shaky but really a dear and very accommodating … I mean there was no one there but Yanno how it is. I had a grilled chicken salad. Very yummy and their ranch is on point. Boo got a Pgh steak Sammy, he devoured it lol. Also I had a coupon so the whole shebang cost me like $ 20! I dig it. I’ll be back for the food and because we can walk from his house. Lol

I want to like this place cause it’s close, and probably the nicest looking bar in Aliquippa but the service is so unbelievably horrible that I can’t bring myself to spend my money here. All the servers are young and care more about their cellphones and each other to wait on anyone. There’s literally only two bartenders/​servers that I will actually go here if they are working. Anyone else, I have to get takeout.
Also, my biggest complaint, and the straw that broke the camel’s back for me:
I ordered «a double gray goose with water and a splash of cran» the server looked at me and asked «do you want that all in the same glass?» Seriously?! I bartended and worked in restaurants my whole life so I understand being young and not knowing how to make every drink, but come on!!! When I said yes. I waited about 17 minutes for my drink. I’m not exaggerating. 17 minutes. It was ridiculous. Then when my bill came, it looked like this:

Are you kidding me? I questioned why I had to pay $.50 twice for a splash and she met me with the response of because it was a double. It’s a double of vodka!!! If anything they used less cranberry… Just ridiculous. I’m sorry, but $ 15 for one drink I had to wait almost 20 minutes for is outrageous.
We only go here when forced to by others and luckily, others are starting to feel the same way. Hope things change because it really is a nice bar with good food and a beautiful patio which is a rarity in the area.

Food is Good, beer is cold, but has the worst service anywhere. I like the outdoor patio but again, service counts number 1 in my book and it’s really really bad!

Last night (11÷28÷14) friends and I met up at Barney’s. Usually the service is not too bad but the girl who was working the bar last night was more concerned with socializing than doing her actual job. There were only four of us and every time we asked for another round she would only bring half the order! We would have to then wait another 15 min to get her attention to get the other half. The only one that was helpful and working hard was Terry while she ignored the entire bar. We eventually left and went elsewhere.

ALWAYS a great time. The owners are wonderful, the fish is terrific and always a nice friendly environment. No jerky people here.

This bar has changed over the years. My mom used to work here when I was a kid. At the time it seemed like an old man bar.
Now I hear it caters to the younger generations.
It’s a nice bar with a nice outside area. Something rare in Aliquippa. Most bars in the area are pretty dump and depressing.
Decent beer selection. Since i’ve not eaten here in 20 years, I can’t comment on the food. I just like the outside bar area.

…typical Pittsburgh bar food. Good selection of beers on tap. I have to mention how much of a pain in the ass the barmaid was this evening. Bossy brunette with a bad attitude. All kind of rules to suit her needs.

Incredible, the chicken tortellini. Juicy chicken, perfect pasta. The pepperoni rolls were a good appetizer. I will call ahead to see if Kelly is cooking. I am not sure how the other cooks are but this girl is a chef.

We’ve eaten at Barney’s on several occasions and two things are consistent … The food is always delicious, and the cigarette smoke in the outdoor seating area ruins our visit. If they could enforce a no smoking policy, the place would be perfect, and we would go more often.

Started going to Barney’s this summer and I’m glad that I did. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a small parking lot.
They have your typical bar menu but the food is pretty good. We have had the piergoies, buffalo wings, white buffalo chicken sandwich, salads, etc.. Never had any complaints and there is usually enough for leftovers for the next day.
They have a decent amount of beers on tap and their prices are reasonable. They have Kareoke once a week and some entertainment.
Updating. I find the service to be slow so I changed my review to 3 stars.
