PopRock Academy provides high quality professional music lessons, acting and dance classes taught by working industry professionals with years of experience in the industry. Unlike many other performing arts schools who hire inexperienced teachers to keep cost down, we hire the very best working professionals with qualified educational backgrounds to teach all our courses.

We offer Voice, Singing, Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Violin, Cello, Saxophone, Clarinet, Woodwinds, Brass, Accordion and most other music instrumental lessons. We teach all genres including Classical, Jazz, Pop and Rock. We offer on camera acting classes for adults, youth and kids. We have various dances classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Freestyle, Pop & Lock and KPop at our studio.

We are a performance driven school and all our student perform at multiple recitals throughout the year. We also offer students opportunities to perform in the greater LA area at live venues and radio appearances.

History

Established in 2011.

PopRock Academy was founded by Paul, a working musician, actor and educator of over 15 years. Because of so many inquiries he has gotten about where to find a great music teachers and inquiries as to how to begin venturing into Hollywood, Paul decided it would be ideal to bring all these amazing teachers under one roof and provide students the highest of quality in performing arts education as possible.

But discontent with how many other performing arts schools are ran, Paul decidedly to create a school where students are not simply coming for a lesson. He believes in the idea of a performing arts community and has been working with other studios to create cross-​disciplinary exchanges and partnerships that will help students grow into well rounded performers. Furthermore, Paul believes in empowering students with information about the industry, on how it works by bringing working artists to teaching working knowledge of the industry.

Business Owner

A member of SAG-​AFTRA, ASCAP and MTAC, Paul works as an actor, music director, pianist, composer and educator.

Paul has worked on blockbuster hits such as Pacific Rim, Transformer 3, Thor 2, Resident Evil 6 and many more more, and was a lead actor in the mega-​hit God’s Not Dead. He has also performed under the batons of many major conductors., and with Yo-​Yo Ma and International singer Wei Wei. His music has won numerous awards nationwide. He has also directed various music and theater programs in the greater Los Angeles area.

Paul received his Master of Music degree in Music Composition and BM (Cum Laude) in Piano Performance with double minors in Theatre and Musical Theatre from USC. He currently resides in the San Gabriel Valley.
