I used to go to this place a lot and was a regular. Now they have new groomers working in the back. The quality is not as good as before. Also, they dont quote you a flat rate. They start at 50 then charge you an extra 30 for brushing. Isnt grooming including brushing already? I have a 10 lb maltepoo and the final price is 80 bucks. The new groomers cut his nails raw and started bleeding. He also got an ear infection.

I was a bit skeptical of this place due to the reviews left by the people who marked 1 – 2 stars, but my dogs smelled pretty bad so I wanted to give it a try.
I called before hand and the person I talked to was pretty nice and said he would be able to squeeze my dog, Dinner, in as long as I’m flexible with pickup time. Once I got there, the lady (presumably the owner?) said she would be able to fit both my dogs in for just a bath. So I got Lunch and Dinner ready. I was scared at first because there were so many scared looking dogs in the kennels. When time came, she took Lunch first and started working on him since we was the «naughty» one. Poor baby kept screaming and whimpering when she was grinding his nails, but he does that everywhere so I ignored it but kept an eye on him. Next was Dinner’s turn and he didn’t whine.
The lady even cleaned their ears and cut Lunch’s ear hair for him and explained to me that if we didn’t cut it, it could possibly get infected. Anyway, the bath and dry was really fast. Dinner couldn’t wait to get out of there. Total was $ 20 for Dinner (he’s a Pomeranian) and $ 18 for Lunch (Shih-​tzu/​Yorkie). An additional $ 5 each was paid for trimming their nails. I was a little annoyed that they didn’t tell us about that additional cost, but whatever, they got the job done in less than an hour. The staff was super friendly and fairly nice to my dogs. I would definitely come again.
However, my sister and I overheard the older man tell a dog to shut up because it kept whining while he was trimming its nails or something. That kind of made us wonder how they would have treated Lunch and Dinner if we weren’t there. (We stayed the whole time in view of our dogs because Dinner has severe separation anxiety) That was the main reason why they lost a star, but other than that, it’s great.

The staff was super friendly! I felt totally comfortable dropping my pup off with them! They asked me what cut i wanted for my dog, of course I had no idea! Lo told them to use their creativity and he tired out so cute! I could tell that they were really gentle with him and they even said they took some extra time since he seemed a little nervous. I will definitely come back for my future grooming needs! Thanks Moochi!

I’ve been coming to this place every since I got my puppy. Parking is very convenient since they have a pretty decent parking lot shared with dominos and etc. so you don’t have to worry about finding parking spaces.
I have to say they’ve do a pretty decent job on my toy poodle/​Bichon’s haircut. Since he is mix with a little poodle so his fur is curly therefore; it has a texture of a cotton ball so drying him and washing him can be a little more difficult. But the owner is very sweet, she always take her time to explain to me what she thinks is best for my dog, and also understands that I don’t get off work till 6:00pm so she doesn’t mind keeping him for an extra 30 mins just so I can rush there after work to pick him up.
I also like how they tell you if your dog has flees or if there’s anything that we need to focus on. From what I see they are very gentle with their work and try not to pull on the fur of the dogs. I have to say it is on the pricey side, when I get a whole body cut and my dog is about 11lbs it comes out to $ 50, but I kind of understand since he does have curly hair that takes a lot of work.
You definitely have to make an appointment because usually they are super booked so making an appointment would definitely be the right way to do so if you don’t want to wait too long.
Overall, 5 stars for service, 4 for décor, 4 for atmosphere, 4 for how clean they are. Will definitely come back again for more haircuts. My dog «Happy» is also very happy with your work.

I have a fluffy corgi who needs haircut monthly. I have taken him here to do the grooming several times. They always make him look good and the most important thing is I have not found there are cuts or wounds either on his skin or nails.

I have been here twice, but I always found fleas on my puppy’s body the 2^nd day after the grooming. In these 2 days, this dog salon was the only place my puppy went to. I guess it must be this dog salon that gave my puppy fleas. And I was here twice, and this issue happened twice.
I tried to discuss this issue with the owner, but the owner said «It was hard to say, because you didn’t found the fleas immediately after you left here.» But I still believe that this store is not clean enough. Does any one has the same issue with me? Can I trust the owner and come here again? I really don’t want my puppy go home with fleas after her grooming!!!

I’ve been taking my dog here since I have gotten him. A couple of times, when they were fully booked, I took him to other groomers, both to which were less than stellar, one in highland park and the other in Pasadena. They do a really great job. Boarding is great also.

Nice and clean! Looks like it’s family owned:) the cuts were nice but a bit pricey after additional fees. Unsure if I would go back…

Hate giving negative reviews, especially for places that I’ve grown to love.
Simply put, this groomer obviously injured my dog’s eye (it was sealed shut), arbitrarily speculated it might be related to a previous medical condition (really? and it decided to instantly surface after a grooming session?), and to add salt to the already oozing wound, they added an extra $ 50 to my bill because my dog was really «dirty.» Right… so why wasn’t that cost factored into the initial quote that I received in their store as they examined my pup in person?
Nice business model moochi. Good luck surviving with it.

I have been coming here many times to groom my mini schnauzers. On Saturday, I dropped off my dogs and when I came back to pick up my dogs my salt and pepper schnauzer had something wrong with her left eye. I know that when I dropped her off her eyes were normal. After picking her up, her left eye was half way open with light green and yellow discharge. They said it was due to her eye boogers. A staff there said the discharge may be due to glaucoma. She never had an eye problem and now your telling me that it can possibly be glaucoma and that it develop during the 6 hours she was there for grooming! Are you kidding me?!!
Throughout the day, it did not seem to get better and she had more discharge from her eye. She had a lot of discharge that it crusted around her eye and her left eye was shut closed. I was concerned for her eye so on Sunday I took her to a vet that was open. The Dr. did a eye stain test and said there was an injury to her eye with eye ulcer.
So the fact of the matter that my dog was fine when I dropped her off and when I came to pick her up her eye was half way open. So obviously something happened to her! I went back on Monday to speak to owner about what had happened to my dog while she was there being groomed and she reported that she was not aware of anything happening to my dog but acknowledged the condition of her eye when I came to pick her up. She also said it may be the soap getting into her eyes (mind you she has been there before and had no issues in the past) so I told her again what the Dr. had said which was an injury to the eye with ulcer and she was like I don’t know what to say.
They also overcharged me with my other schnauzer (with short hair, under 30 lbs) which usually cost $ 50 but for this visit I was charged $ 95 saying it took them a long time. And my salt and pepper schnauzer was $ 50 and on top of that ended up having a eye injury. I am disappointed in their care of my dog and sad for my dog who suffered an eye injury after her grooming there.

We’ve been coming here for a couple of years and this is the only place we trust with our Lhasa Apso mix. You can tell that the owners are very passionate about their work and its quality. They always asks to double check that what we want has not changed since the last visit (even if it was just a few months ago). They are very honest about how long it’ll take them to finish up and are very prompt at calling you to let you know when your dog is ready for pick up. The prices are great for what you end up getting!!!
I had to board my baby for one day (not over night) and they were able to accommodate him with just a ten minute notice. Even though he stayed in a cage all day (maybe they walked him a bit, I don’t know since I forgot to ask about it) he was well hydrated. The owner asked if he had been fed or if he needed any extra treats during his stay when I dropped him off. So they really do care that your doggie does not starve or anything just in case you are forgetful. The entire day of boarding was only $ 15 — not bad, huh?
I have recommended this place over and over again to many of my neighbors and friends and they have come back with great praise for Moochi. A few of them are even regular customers now. I will keep recommending this place for sure!

Small Mom n Pop shop with Good OLd Mom n Pop Care. I didn’t make an appointment but they still took me as a walk-​in.
My dog hasn’t been brushed in awhile so Mats had developed. Just FYI that means a lot of brushing is needed to get them out or they will clump up more bigger and nastier. After I took him here he looks n smells Great!

I took my dog here twice now.
I was very happy both times with the results. My miniature poodle looked and smelled great.
The prices are a little steep but worth it. I would much rather bring my dog here than a chain groomer.
I will be coming back!

I LOVE this place even more so than I did before. I have been coming here for yrs and recently my newest dog got a seizure while at Moochi. After I got the call I quickly went to pick up my dog, when I got there they called the groomer out who was with my dog at the time and he explained to me what happen and how he tried to calm my dog down. After talking to him I quickly realized that the dog groomer was very nice. I was so happy my dog was with him at the time of the seizures. Now my dog is on meds but when I do take in my dogs they are very quick and so nice, I feel like home when I’m there and they treat my dogs like family. This place is amazing! Take your babies here

We have finally found a place to get our dog’s haircut!
We used to frequent PetSmart, but the cuts were always so inconsistent. We finally tried this place, and we are now repeat customers. I love this place because they really listen to what you want for your dog, and they even keep records of what kind of cut you had done so they know what to do for the next time.
During our baby’s first cut, they left his ears kind of long. They were completely open to our request to cut the ear area more, and he looked as handsome as ever. They made note of this too. When we came back, they knew exactly what to do after looking at his file.
Prices are completely reasonable too. We don’t even live anywhere near this area, but we use it as an excuse to drop him off and get some good Chinese food (:*

This place has awesome service i called in to ask about appointments and the lady edith (not to sure how to spell her name) told me to come right in and she helped me right away! She is the best shes so nice and sweet !
I had just purchased a pomeranian which was in desperate need of a shampoo due to flea from previous owners and she told me the puppy was to young to use the flea shampoo so she manual hand picked majority of them off for me ! I went to pet smart grabbed some medication and she helped me applyed it.
I had also purchased a dog tag here for a reasonable pricr compared to pet smart it was $ 6.99 i believe and at pet smart they were asking for $ 19.99 for the engraved collars. I told all my friends to come here to get thier dogg collars as well and they loved it !
She did a great job on taking care of my puppy and grooming it will defiently come back here and tell all my friends as well!

Finding a great dog groomer is really difficult. After all, it’s not like your furry children can tell you if they like their groomer or not, let alone if they like their hairdo. I had taken my son, Charlie, to groomers across the Los Angeles area, but could not find the «just right» Goldilocks-​ish groomer.
There were groomers that failed to tell me that they nicked Charlie. There were groomers that did half-​assed uneven jobs. And there were groomers that treated Charlie like a lesser dog because he was a rescue and not purebred. I even think they were racist towards Charlie because he is black.
Thanks to Unilocal,I was able to find Moochi in Alhambra and I guess you can say the rest is history. While there are many closer places I could take Charlie, we trek out to Moochi because Alex, the younger groomer, always takes care of my son without prejudice and Charlie does not « Unilocal» or appear terrified when we drop him off.
You see, Moochi is a mom and pop business named after their four-​legged child and you can tell that the entire family is very affectionate towards dogs. Therefore, after 3 visits to Moochi, I can say with conviction that this will be the only dog salon where Charlie will be getting his hair «did».
Not only do they make him look adorable, they also listen to how you want the cut done and they keep notes about temperament, hair tangles, or any other thing you can think of.
On average, a cut takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, which means you can explore the «real Chinatown» of Los Angeles by grabbing some awesome and inexpensive Chinese food along Valley Boulevard or heading over to the amazing bars on Main Street.
Moochi makes my poochie a super cutie patootie. Yes I just wrote that… channeling my inner Eminem.
* Charlie is a medium-​sized dog and they charge a reasonable $ 45 for his cut.
