Main Street Barbers

Definitely the best barber shop around here. Very friendly atmosphere and personal approach to every customer! All barbers are skilled professionals with a lot of experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

«I have been trying to find the right barbershop for the past couple of months. I recently went to the Infamous barber shop, and was not impressed at all. After coming to the Main Street Barbers, I am definitely going to come back (and I go to school all the way in Riverside).
First off, if you like sports, you will love the decorations that they have on their walls. It really is like an old school barbershop. The barbers are very welcoming and have such kind and honest personalities. If you ask most barbers for a hairstyle, they will do it even if they know your hair isn’t right for it. Right when I walked into the barbershop and told them that I wanted an undercut, they were honest with me and said that my hair isn’t long enough. Being the only one there at that time, the barbers discussed with me what possible things they could do with my hair while it was still growing. They cleaned my sides up and it didn’t look messy at all. Irene, the woman working on me, spent a lot of time working on my hair to undo the damage from the previous barbershop. There was uneven hair everywhere and sticking out at random places, but she helped it look nice again. During my haircut, other people came in and all the barbers converse with those waiting. Being new, I didn’t really have much to say, but Irene told me that I could join in anytime in their conversation, and that honestly made me feel really welcomed. Most barbershops just get you cut and you leave, but this barbershop actually makes you feel at home. They put in a great amount of effort into your hair and they will show you what it looks like throughout the process so you know what is happening step by step. They won’t let you leave without you loving your hair. I don’t think I’ve ever left a barbershop or haircut place as happy as I did today. The haircuts are reasonably priced at $ 13 as well (cash only). I recommend this place for anyone, whether you want a simple or complicated cut. You won’t find a place like this often and once you go here, I’m sure you will love it too. I hope they remember me when I come back in, as they did with other customers. Easiest ⁵⁄₅ stars I will ever give.»
6÷17÷16: Now that I’m back in Riverside for school, I hardly get a chance to go back home and get a haircut from this place. Irene is still my go-​to-​person when I get a haircut though, as I can trust her with my hair. Once I have some free time, I do intend to go back. The people there are so great and they show great hospitality. I truly do miss going to them for my haircuts! Their haircuts are affordable too.

Even though I stated clearly what kind of haircut I wanted each time, I got a bowl cut in two cases and a horrible combover at my last visit, which I most definitely never asked for and which I don’t need since I have no hair loss to cover. Save for the presumptive lady of the house (who doesn’t work there anymore, it sounds like), the other barbers didn’t spend much time listening to what I wanted, instead talking loudly to each other or some waiting patrons and giving me terrible cuts. Had my hair fixed up somewhere else after the last visit and won’t be back.

Been here only a handful of times. I like it, overall. Good people, who are genuine. And want to engage in conversation with you, which is always a plus. They are fast and efficient too which is a plus cause I usually can only spare a half hour or so outta my schedule for a haircut.
Got my hair cut by James this time… good guy. Great with kids too cause the customer before me brought in his kid and he was in and out of his chair in about 10 – 15 minutes. Decent haircut.
$ 15 dollars for guys haircuts, and they only accept cash, or else they take one of your shoes as ransom till you come back with the cash lol, which I honestly think is hilarious.
I usually just give the 20 for the tip as well. Happy with this place.

I come here every 4 – 6 weeks to have Diana scissor cut my hair. I just have a simple side part style, but she takes her time and it always looks tight, clean and professional.
There is almost always a wait, but everyone in the shop is so friendly (both barbers and customers) that it’s actually a treat to just sit around and hear what is going on in the neighborhood.

This place has by far the chillest barbers you would ever have cutting your hair! They would take their time perfecting every single detail, not missing one random long strand of hair. Mario, who cut my hair, kept checking and cutting until it looked perfect. The barbers will also always keep you smiling and create conversations with you which makes the experience way less boring. This place cost 15 bucks which is the most i have ever paid for a hair cut, but giving 20 bucks each time (including tip) is worth every dollar. This place is my go to spot ever since i found it on Unilocal.Give it a try if you are ever around Alhambra :)

Main Street Barbers is the last barber shop I will ever need to go. I’ve been about 5 times now and each time I’m %100 satisfied. No matter the barber, be it Dianne, Mario, or any other, they always do an excellent job. I’m glad that I don’t have to listen to people yell in foreign languages like other local barbers. I know they offer an excellent straight razor shave with high quality products and I am very excited about growing out my beard just to come back for the shave. Unlike a common chore that is a haircut, I find myself wanting with anticipation to return.

Finally found a barber shop where they are great at their profession. Reasonable prices and great skilled people. I highly recommend this place.

The lady I got was quick and professional. Did exactly what I wanted. Atmosphere was casual and they had all the right equipment. First time here but have walked by this place in hs years ago. $ 12 Price for a regular dudes haircut is fair for this area. This isn’t valley blvd with the $ 8 cuts, more white/​latinos. Plenty of parking spaces.

These barbers are very chill individuals and know their stuff… Will definitely come back again for another haircut…

Cool local shop, in an area central to a lot of other businesses. Shout out to Patrick, he gives clean cuts and will line you up real quick.

Came in today (12-​24-​2015) for a shave, last client to be treated. First time customer, shaved by Mario. One of the most amazing shaves I have ever received. I can see why this is business has 5 stars, great high quality service. Thank you Mario for a great shave. Happy holidays

Been here twice, and I have to say it’s by far the friendliest and most fun barber shop I’ve ever been to. Just real down to earth good people working there. Great haircut, and even better people. It’s definitely my new go to haircut spot since I now live in South Pasadena.
Highly recommend them to anyone in the area, they will treat you like family.

I’m always iffy trying out a new barber decided to come here because of the 5 star reviews. And I’m glad I did.
This place has a very «homely» vibe and they make you feel like family in a way. They talk to you and try to get to know you.
Only been here twice and both times I walked out very satisfied. Mario and Diana did an amazing job cutting my hair. They both took their time and even did a straight razor shave at the end. Something most barbers don’t do anymore.
It’s sad that I live in San Diego and I won’t be coming around Alhambra when my wife finishes school at usc. Heck, maybe I’ll make the 2 hour drive

Walked into this barber shop with high hopes and stars in my eyes. I have never seen a place with 5 star reputation with 100+ reviews. I know it is all about perspective with the stars and everything and I try to go in places with an open mind and lowered expectations.
In this case I was happily rewarded for walking through the main street barbers doors. I came out looking like a boss.
As I entered I was welcomed with smiles and greetings from strangers. This was my first time here. I thought it to be unusual to be so friendly… but customer after customer (or just former patrons or family members) I noticed it was not just a business but a family.
The haircut was very meticulous. I was very impressed how much she cared for my hair… I’m used to barbers just hacking away at my thick horse hair month after month. I didn’t know there were different kinds of zeros!
This place is a no brainer for me and I will come back to this place whenever I have the chance.

Gotta let you know that this barber shop rocks! Irene cut my hair and I absolutely loved it. I got great compliments from people and so I decided to bring my 2 year old son last week.
Mario gave my boy a lollipop while he was getting his hair cut with Diane then while we were trying to entertain my son, we sang some nursery rhymes, guess what, the entire barber shop sang with us and that was something that I don’t normally see in real life, only in the movies. I wish I had recorded it. It’s nice to know that there are still real barbers out there who provides great service. Kudos to Main Street Barbers.
