terrible experience. receptionist was rude and did not even know how to look up my insurance information. the doctor himself was no better. i had made an appt ahead of time, but he had to cancel. i had to schedule for a week later. the second time around, he had to leave early, although he knew i had an appointment. he was rude, barely checked on me, gave me a generic answer, and basically pushed me out the door with some samples. how is he even practicing. i came here based on the Unilocal reviews too, very disappointed.

Tried to schedule an appt and the lady said ok hold on let me get the book to check the available times, I was put on hold for 10 mins and finally just hung the phone up! Ridiculous!

Brought my son in with a severe case of eczema on his scalp and body. Dr Schall was really great. He explained everything very thoroughly and even gave us samples while we got the prescription. His condition improved greatly… I highly recommend Dr. Schall.

So far so good! I also chose to see him for a few skin issues I’ve been having based on the reviews on here. I called his office and I was able to make an appointment that same day. Dr. Schall was professional, knowledgeable, nice and funny. I wish people in healthcare were more like him. He listened to all my concerns and made sure he addressed all of them. He even brought out this book and reviewed with me what he thought was going on with my skin. He didn’t make me feel dumb for asking a lot of questions or that he had to explain certain things. I like that he took the time to be attentive and helpful. He also gave me several samples of products he recommended for my sensitive skin and he even put in a coupon so that I can wouldn’t pay anything for one of the medicines he prescribed. I’ll be seeing him again for a follow-​up but until then I am very satisfied client!

For starters, Dr. Schall is a nice guy. I had gone to 2 other dermatologists beforehand but Dr. Schall is by far the is most caring and considerate of the 3. In my honest opinion however, he did not have the solution for my mild cystic acne.
Despite suggesting my interest in accutane, Dr. Schall prescribed me 100 mg of Doxycycline twice a day for a month. By the end of the month, the improvement in my face was barely noticeable, but noticeable. The only downside was that my chest and back which had always been clear, was now breaking out. So Dr. Schall switched me to Monocycle 100 mg twice a day for a month.
The night following my first Minocycline pill, I immediately felt like something was different with my face. The best way I can describe it is that I for once felt like my skin was more immune to acne. My current breakouts began to subside with Minocycline but I would still break out over the course of the month. Overall, I would say Minocycline was a temporary solution and would have only cleared my face to about 85−90%. Unfortunately over the course of the month on Minocycline however, the acne on my chest go SO MUCH WORSE. I had the clearest chest and back but Minocycline I suspect led to a bunch of small zits all over my chest and back that have since scarred. I was upset, and upon my next appointment, I told Dr. Schall who prior to my chest/​back acne reveal had explained that he wanted to put me on a second month of Minocycline. Instead, he switched me to Bactrim.
Bactrim was as if I was taking nothing at all for my face. My acne returned to normal in the ensuing week prior to first seeing Dr. Schall. I tried to set up an appointment to see him ASAP, but his schedule is — for a lack of words — wonky at Monday-​Thursday 8:30am-4pm ish?
Anyways, my acne was getting really out of hand again and I had no other choice but to see another dermatologist who after hearing all the antibiotics I had taken, prescribed me accutane.
Overall, I have nothing against Dr. Schall. He is a good doctor, but just like his office — he is old school. Again, this is my opinion at only 3 appointments, but to me he is a trial and error doctor. I’m sure Dr. Schall would have found something that would have helped my acne, but as a college student, I do not have all the time in the world for trial and error treatments, especially with how much acne has emotionally drained me.

I was skeptical about going to a dermatologist for my keloid scars from my surgery dated back in 2012 because one, it’s been 3 years, two, I’ve tried tea tree oil, silicon pads, and everything else just to minimize the scar and nothing worked, three, I was losing hope. My wedding date is coming closer and closer so I decided to try one last time to fix these scars. I went on Unilocal,searched keloid scars, and see what/​who pops up. Luckily, I found Dr. Schall! My keloid scar was protruding about 3 mm out and after two sessions with Dr. Schall they are nearly flat now! The color of the scar will not go away but the size of the protrusion definitely shrunk dramatically. You are in and out of Dr. Schall’s in 30 minutes. He’s a very sweet gentleman that will explain to you what you’ve got, give you a few shots in the scar, and you’re out and about. I highly recommend Dr. Schall!

So I was desperately looking for a dermatologist and I came across this while searching on Unilocal.I seen that every single review was 5stars and everyone had nothing, but good things to say so I was a little iffy thinking «it was too good to be true» anyways I had an consultation this morning for a removal on my face. I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon, but Dr. Schall is amazing!!! He answered all my questions, extremely nice, very knowledgeable, calmed me down when it was time to num my face with shots lol he even knew I didn’t have insurance and did a removal and sent to the lab for only $ 190 (that was including the consolation fee so I only had to pay $ 20 more) my appointment was at 10:30 and I was leaving home by 10:40!!! I will come back for all my dermatologist needs!!! I even recommend my mom and sister to go in next week. I highly highly recommend this place. The receptionist is such a sweetheart as well :)

I love this doctor. He is knowledgeable and really put me at ease. I went to another derm regarding a mole on my back. He told me it could be cancer and that he will scrap off PART of my tiny mole for biopsy and that I could return for entire mole removal later as it would require stitches.
Dr SCHALL was so nonchalant. He said my mole has a ¹⁄₁₀₀ chance of becoming cancer and that he can remove it right now during visit. He gave me a quick shot and took all of it out. That was it! It was so easy. Done and done. No bs about scrap half then return and stitch the rest. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. I waited 5 minutes and was done with the entire visit in 21 minutes !!!

Clean and old school looking office. Dr Schall has gentle hands and works pretty fast and painless. I asked him to remove a Seborrheic keratosis on my chest and he ordered a lab exam for it which I found out to be benign after 2 weeks. I was there for 30 mins from signing in to getting my next schedule. He is thorough and quick. He doesn’t have time for chit chats and goes directly to work. If you are lookinh for a pro derma, consider this clinic. Takes PPO. Parking is provided at the back office. A little bit hard to find even if it is located in the main Garfield street since most offices beside this clinic looks just like it and being in the main Garfield street makes it hard to slow down because of the busy traffic. I always get lost or drive by past it. But it’s no big deal. I think it’s just me. Front desk always makes sure they call a day prior for an appointment reminder.

Again, this man is amazing. This is my yearly check up and the receptionist was more than kind, Dr. Schall handled my check up like a pro. He even brought in a picture book to explain to me when I should be concerned. He spoke to me like someone who was knowledgable in healthcare (which I am), and that was highly appreciated.

Please get a new person to answer your phone Dr. Schall. I called today to try and make an appointment and got a very rude lady with a very bad attitude, so much so I’ll just take my business elsewhere. New patients shouldn’t have to put up with that BS.

If you don’t have insurance than DO NOT COME HERE!!! They will lie to you to get more money. I first called the office to see how much the office visit and removal of two moles would cost. The lady told me $ 175 for the visit and treatment. I came to see Dr. Lawrence to get two moles removed and they charged me $ 250 WTF!!! That’s not even the worst part. Dr. Lawrence and his staff named Grace told me the lab fee for the biopsy would cost around $ 40 to $ 50 max. The bill came up to $ 258.50. So the total cost is $ 508.5. DON’T COME HERE, I’m doing you a favor by looking elsewhere. I made a terrible mistake coming here. You can email me for more information, I still have my receipt as well as the lab fee if you don’t believe me. Please for your sake STAY AWAY from this place.

After years of foot problems, getting worse and worse, they are finally on the way to being gone! GP’s, and in one case, a dermatologist who I was referred to, never did more than treat the symptoms. Some of them actually spelled out that I could expect this problem for life. My only remedy was to treat the symptoms.
Not Dr. Schall. He took one look at the atrocious condition of my feet, and announced that we needed to eliminate the cause of the problem. Without asking me how long the problem had been going on, he stated that, since this problem had been going on for a long time, it wouldn’t clear up immediately, but we were going to get it. I had trotted in all the remedies I’d been using — prescription and over the counter. He pronounced them all worthless except one. Of course, because they were all only for the symptoms, except that one. But that one had not worked, so he gave me a prescription that he said was better. 3 DAYS LATER, my feet are better than they have been in years! Yes, the prescription cost me — $ 41. But is that worth it for a difference of night and day? You bet!
Several reviewers have mentioned the difficulty of getting through on the phone. I myself experienced that, getting no answer on my only attempt. I live pretty close by Dr. Schall’s office, so I just went there. Got the appointment scheduled for two days later. As for the office? Are you kidding me? Who cares whether the furniture looks like what a friend of mine once called «Early Garage»? I’m not there for the interior decorating! If you are — then go elsewhere. Good luck with your treatment!

Came to see Dr. Schall as a referral from my MD. I’ve been wanting a mole removed from in between my eyebrows for a long time but never worked up the courage for fear of scaring my face. Long story short, my family encouraged me to follow through with the referral – Dr.Schall is punctual, had a loud voice but is not intimidating, he listened to me… even tried to tell me I look beautiful and that the mole wasn’t noticeable and that since it was benign – just leave it alone! All honest & profession medical opinions but I still wanted it gone. He laid down the law and told me up front – I’ll do it for you, it’ll be painless and I don’t think it will grow back BUT it may leave a tiny scar and take up to 6 months for the pink scar tissue to fade. With all that, I still proceeded… makeup works wonders! Needless to say, I had my mole removed (PAINLESSLY) 4 months ago, it healed in 5 weeks! And, I have NO scar! I’ve seen dr. Schall twice since then and I couldn’t be happier! He’s a down to earth guy, who hears you out and actually has a great sense of humor! His front desk lady, Grace, she works so hard to give you the most accommodating appointment time – which is tough cause Dr’s schedule is always booked! ;) good job Gracie :) parking: street or in the private lot in the back.

Dr. Schall is AMAZING!!! The reviews aren’t lies. I felt just a tad skeptic when originally walking into the office but Dr. Schall is literally the nicest most endearing dermatologist I’ve ever met. He is so honest and straightforward with you that I immediately fell in love with his tactics.
I came to see him with my boyfriend because he needed a small cyst removal done. Now my boyfriend has no insurance so we were paying out of pocket. Upon a quick and thorough examination Dr. Schall told us a surgery would have to be done but if he were to do it he would leave a scar and instead recommended us to two other options of dermatologists who could do it without a scar. He then proceeded to say he wouldn’t charge us for this consultation and asked if we wanted free flu shots just for the heck of it. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Fastest, most proficient, and honest doctor out there. Make him your regular dermatologist!!!
P. S. I really appreciate the lady at the front desk for squeezing us in for an appointment despite Dr. Schall was already fully booked for the week. Your a life saver!!!

No one ever picks up the phone

I thought all these 5 star reviews were be too good to be true. But after my appointment with Dr. Schall last Monday…
folks, HE IS THE REAL DEAL.
Within 5 minutes, he gave me a prognosis on my skin irritation. He whipped up a prescription and some sample Rx for me faster than you can pronounce «dermatologist».
He answered all my questions carefully and gave me clear & precise instrutions regarding my medicine. I can’t believe I am saying this… I am excited to see him in two months for my follow up appointment.

After reading all of Schall’s glowing reviews, I’ll admit I was still skeptical. I’ve been burned by popular dermatologists before, so I didn’t expect such a pleasant visit.
My appointment was at 9am, and Dr Schall walked in at 9am on the dot — ready to see his patients. He called in his own patients two at a time, and he greeted both of us with a smile. As I waited, it was clear that the man had a loud, booming voice but it wasn’t offensive. When it was my turn, he seemed very eager to listen to my problems and help in any way he could. I adored his eccentricity, too! I will not disclose what kind of issues it is that I walked in for, but I will say that Dr Schall addressed them all and proved to be very knowledgable and informative. At the end of my appointment, he handed me a bag full of samples and gave me a couple of prescriptions along with some vouchers/​coupons to get them at discounted rates. Through all the seriousness, I even had a few laughs with the man.
By 930am, I had scheduled my follow-​up and was already back in my car.
It’s a world of difference compared to my latest dermatologist who used to have my brother and I wait an hour in the waiting room before calling us into a patient room to wait some more only to send his troupe of interns to address our concerns instead of answering the questions himself! But we kept going back because we assumed it to be the norm and he was a well-​known professional. NOPE, never again!
Thank goodness for Dr Schall! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an efficient, straightforward dermatologist. If you have trouble reaching the office, don’t give up! It took me a week of calling to finally catch a receptionist to schedule an appointment for a few weeks later, but it was completely worth the wait.

Quick, helpful, and (more or less) painless!
My boyfriend picked this place because not only did it have five stars, but a reviewer said he never had to wait over ten minutes to be seen. I was a little hesitant, because this place may have earned five stars, but it was out of only seven reviews. Could these reviewers be family members, friends, neighbors? Well, might as well give it a shot.
The office is small but cozy, and the decorations may be out dated but it was comfortable and welcoming. My boyfriend looked over and signed the paperwork and sat down. There were to women waiting, both were seen in about fifteen minutes and my boyfriend was seen after. After another thirty minutes, my boyfriend came out. Super painless! The doctor also sent a prescription to a nearby pharmacy that was not even half a mile away, and the doc said that the prescription will be ready by the time we get there.
The boyfriend said the doctor examined him and said his skin was reacting to stress, gave him a shot (in the face? Yikes!) and sent over a prescription. After the shot, the boyfriend says, «Wow, I can see a difference!» The doctor thundered, «No you can’t! It doesn’t work that fast, you crazy?!» I was laughing! The doctor sounds like quite the character!
As the boyfriend and I left, I said, «You know, I would give this place five stars.»
It was a pleasant visit!
