J&M Towing is family-owned and has been in the towing and recovery business for over 40 years. The company started in East L.A. in 1970 and relocated to the City of Alhambra in 1990. The company is certified with the US Department of Transportation and the California Highway Patrol. The company is also registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. The company has also been a member with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for many years as an «A» rated company.

if your car is worth $ 2000 forget it! Mine is an old car that i needed for school thats why i was so eager to get it right away. Had I known they’re going to charge me that much? Forget it! When you call them over the phone they will just tell you the $ 32 fee per day which is already a lot for a car that is parked under the sun and dirt everywhere! They’re more expensive than LAX! If your car is with them for more than 72 hours, good luck to you! On top of the $ 32 charge, you pay them $ 70 more. Plus another «CITY CHARGE» that is $ 123. and a towing charge too. You just payed $ 139 at the Pasadena Police department and here you are standing at a small office telling you you still need to pay city charge and all that Sht! I was warned that they will get every penny from you but I never thought that these kind of people exist! Like how do they even sleep at night? For an honest mistake, I paid $ 450 and $ 139 to the PPD. It was the most horrible thing that anyone could ever experience!

Horrible horrible horrible. The guy was so rude to me on the phone and in person. I was about to hop over that counter and give him a piece of my mind. He told me all I needed was my license to take my stuff out of the car. Then I bussed it from Pasadena to here for him to say I needed more then that? What a fucken joke!

It’s hard to write a good review of a tow company, but these guys are pretty decent. They delayed closing for the day until after 5 to wait for me and another couple that got towed after 3 O’clock on Arroyo Parkway. And their charges are probably set by the city, but they were reasonable compared to other cities: it cost me $ 165 for towing and $ 120 to the city. In Philly it’s $ 350, in NY and Boston it’s well over $ 350 and in San Francisco it’s something astronomical like $ 700 by the time you get your car back. The guys at J & M were nice too. So 3 stars. I’d give em 4 stars if they gave me my car back for half price. Five stars if they gave me the car back for nothing.

I don’t know what to think — are these guys the ones who are the creeps, or is it the Pasadena Police Department? Or is it both? They’ve definitely got some kind of backroom deal going on with each other. I overparked by TWO MINUTES on Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena, and there was a tow truck there from J & M Towing there before I could blink. Seriously? Seriously.
Once I got my friend to drive me down to Alhambra to bail out my car, the actual experience with these guys was relatively quick and painless (unlike the dickheads at the PPD.) But the question remains, what’s the connection between the two organizations? And aren’t there better ways of raising money? Yes, I’m pissed.

When I had to take out a car from here, I found out that AAA does not have this place as a certified towing place. For some reason though, nearby cities use their towing services. It cost more than $ 400 to take out the car and the company charges $ 36/day to store the vehicle.

These guys are slouch-ass crooks! Watch Your ‘front’ because Lance has got Your ‘back.’
They cut some kind of crooked deal with the Alhambra and Monterey Park police departments, so in an unfortunate event that your car should get towed in this area– it will end up here in this shameful establishment.
You WILL end up paying outrageous prices just to get your car out. On top of that, I’ve had personal and valuable things appropriated from my compartments! When I confronted them, the morbidly obese man at the front desk just shrugged his shoulders — «we’re not responsible»
It’s not only my bad experience with them — many others, who I know personally, will concur as well.
J&M towing: you’ll ‘catch a case’ in due time.
