History

Established in 2001.

The original Havana House Cigars and Lounge opened its doors to a welcome public in July, 1996. Located in the heart of historic Uptown Whittier, Havana House offers up more than 200 different kinds of hand made cigars guaranteed to satisfy any taste. Our walk-​in humidor is stocked with flavorful choices for the novice and the aficionado alike. We also offer up a wide selection of premium beers and wines. Good, small, fun place with good music and always popping, drinks (mixed drinks) are a bit pricey for the small cups they serve but hey. If you cant stand the smell of smoke than I dont recommend you go here other than that I recommend this place to all my friends and family. I always have a good time here!

Came here on a Saturday night only because Azul next door charged a cover.
The music is horrible, and the music is horrible.
I regretted not paying the cover. Yikes.
The atmosphere, however, was pumped up.
It seemed like many people were enjoying themselves.

Where do I begin with this place? I’ve been here a few times. Usually early and then I go Sunday night and see a big fight. Big group against a couple. Bouncers do nothing and then the ones beating them up are allowed back inside. Once inside I tried getting a drink and it took forever. If you notice the volume of drinks going out you’ll see that they could care less. Constantly talking to each other or to regulars. Once again, the group of people that started a fight outside were back at it again. One guy slammed the stool down so hard the entire place went silent and you guessed it. Security didn’t do anything. Only one trying to stop it was the DJ saying we’re all just here to have fun. Tried to close my tab and that ALSO took a long time. Drinks aren’t that cheap (gin and tonic was $ 8) but the problem is, it’s the only bar open on Sunday night. Next time, I’ll just keep driving

The last time I was at this bar the bar tender sat down at the bar to eat a burrito for 45 min leaving customers unattended what a joke close your doors and let someone serious take over Alhambra deserves better

I used to like this place… but that was probably when it first opened. Stopped by for a smoke and drink. Drinks are not sophisticated at all. They cater to the beer crowd. And I’m not asking for fine bourbon or anything expensive, I mean they didn’t even have red wine. Service is less than stellar, the patio area was filthy, and the seating just not meant for lounging. It’s definitely just a club now, so don’t expect a cigar type lounge as the name implies.

I’m surprised I never reviewed this spot. I lived in Alhambra for a while and frequented this place as Alhambra really only has a few bars in general. I came to see friends recently and we ended up here for part of the night.
Major pluses– you can smoke inside, cigars and cigs. They sell both, beware I dropped $ 10 on a pack of cigs and their selection was limited to reds and lights. Drinks are good, decently priced and the DJ has never been horrible. Although it seems like the DJ is different every time, or just failed to make an impression, just saying.
I’ve never seen it crazy packed which could be a goos thing or bad thing depending upon what you’re trying to do. I can’t really speak on the cigar side if things but they do seem to attract a following as every time I am there people linger in and out to buy cigars or sit in the back and puff away.
All and all this place is just ‘okay’

This place is okay if you’re in the area and you’re a smoker. However, if you’re like me and you just got dragged along after Azul then it’s not a great time. Drinks are ehh, typical prices. But BEWARE 5 mins in this place and your hair will be penetrated with the smell of smoke. It’s overwhelming. Yes, I realize it’s a cigar lounge but it was too overwhelming to stay. For cigar smokers thumbs up, non-​smoker like me, stay away. Bathroom sucks too.

Good music, good drinks. You have to be a little on the tipsy side to handle all the cigar smell and smoke. Went there recently when I wasn’t tipsy and had to walk right back out because of the smoke.

Great local hangout. If you are a smoker like myself, you can smoke at the bar or at the patio since this is a cigar lounge. Drinks are good and staff is wonderful. Especially during the warmer weather, it’s a nice place to be to enjoy a drink, smoke a cigar and lounge in the ac. Jen, Manny and Nicole are the best bartenders there.

2nd. time here. Our evening started out really nice, drinks and a cigar. Just relaxing and having a great conversation. But in comes a obnoxious DJ and plays old school rap. Didn’t like the music request we made and proceeded to tell us to go somewhere else. Manager was just as rude. Wont be going back I like my $$$.

I’ve been going there for years every so often. The new manager is rude!!! He didn’t ask us if we wanted to roll over our tab he insisted! I have never been to establishment that did that in such an unprofessional rude manner and I travel all over the states!
The Dj was rude to my female companions. I must say I’m shocked and disappointed

The cigar selection is not the greatest for a cigar connoisseur.
They have comfortable seats with plenty of TV’S to watch the game.
The is friendly and really cares about your experience.
When I’m in the neighborhood it’s the spot for me to smoke a cigar.

Love this place it’s my go-​to spot to have a beer, full bar, lively atmosphere with a Dj and little dance floor and friendly staff and a decent selection of cigars. The friendly staff is what keeps me coming back. And the people i go with as well. There’s one in Whittier but that’s much smaller, no dance floor, and no full bar. I love it here. But to be honest, I will say it has been crowded and a personal preference is the men’s room has a hand dryer but id prefer if they continue to stock on paper towels instead they always run out. There is little seating but then again the place isn’t exactly that big. However the friendly staff and respectable prices on the service is what keeps me coming back. I just get that feeling «I’m home» haha

I heard there’s deep house music on Tuesdays so I went to check it out…
I can’t believe how awesome this place was! I usually drive to dtla or hollywood for real raw underground style music, but this place delivered. I saw dj big cee from deep there, if you want to see big time underground deejays in an intimate dim light setting… And for free. Go on Tuesday nights. Almost all other nights are hip hop I think.

This is the place to be if you like drinks. With cigars sports on TV. It’s got plenty off room. It’s got a long counter bar where you could at least have more then 20 people sitting. It’s got plenty of tables inside and plenty of TVs all the way around. it’s a great place to meet friends to have a drink to relax smoke a stogie. or you could have groups of people if you like. It’s got a back room with a couple couches and TVs so you can relax and enjoy smoking your cigar and watching sports on TV. It also has a patio out front so you have plenty of choices to choose from. But I guarantee when you come to this place you won’t be disappointed at all. Great atmosphere great bartenders and waitresses. Just all the way around great people hope you can make it.
