Family owned and operated, we have been repairing and servicing brakes for automobile owners in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding cities for over 50 years.

At the same location in Alhambra, California since 1956, we specialize in brake repair on automobiles, cars, light trucks and other vehicles. Whether you need brake repair on front and rear disc brakes, or brake repair on front and rear drum brakes, we are highly trusted with return customers from as far away as Oceanside and even Arizona.

We service brakes on both foreign and domestic cars and trucks, and we also specialize in repairing and diagnosing ABS (Anti-​Lock) brake systems. We offer 4 wheel computerized alignment. As well as installation of shocks and struts, front end and suspension repair.

These guys are honest and dependable. The first time I came here to change my brake fluid, as recommended by my car guide, they tested the brake fluid and told me it was still good. They didn’t charge me anything for testing the fluid, and told me an approximate time to come back and get it tested/​changed. Checked my brake pads too. Have been coming back here ever since. There is a Costco and Souplantation nearby, and they call me when my car is ready. Efficient and courteous. Well deserved 5 stars!

I’ve been putting off getting my brakes replaced. I called here today to inquire about the wait, since they work on a first come, first served basis (read: no appointments!) and brought my car in immediately. The men who work here are very friendly and professional. It took less than an hour and only cost me $ 163 for my front brakes, and they also tightened my back brakes without me asking. Amazing service today, I’m a very happy girl.

Rear brakes on truck were making a horrible noise after it was installed at BIG O Tires. Not trusting BIG O Tires, came to Carroll’s on a referral from a friend. A diagnosis showed that the BIG O Tires did an improper installation using lowest quality parts. Carroll’s worked on the rear brakes using better parts. Almost a week now and no more noise from the rear! Thank you Carrolls !!! Would definitely recommend this shop to others. Go to Carrolls Brake Service!!! Do NOT have Big O Tires work on your brakes!!!

Great family owned brake shop with excellent customer service. I have a ’14 Lexus RX350 and the dealer quoted $ 450 for rear brakes. Carrolls did it for $ 163 and in less than 2 hours. Nice, friendly, and do great work. Definitely a 5 star shop.

First visit, the dealership said I had a leaky strut and needed to repair it. Jeremiah took a look at it and said nope!
Second time, another dealership said I had to flush my brake fluid. Came over and Jeremiah says nope again!
I can tell this business is run by honest people and not trying to make a quick buck by selling unneeded things.
This visit, I’m getting my rear brakes done.

This local, family owned business provides excellent service at a very good price.
My family and I have been bringing our cars here for decades. Leo and his sons provide excellent service. If you get a chance, have a chat with Leo. He’s a great man; I enjoy speaking with him and hearing about his days in the NFL.
Besides brakes, this shop does shocks /​struts and other services. Highly recommended!

Called and asked for an appointment. The guy told me to bring the car in 30 minutes. When I arrived, it turned out there are three cars ahead of us, and they are not going to honor the schedule they promised. What a waste of time!

My brakes weren’t working right so I took my car in for a check up. Turned out my brakes just needed a minor adjustment. I wasn’t charged a dime for the diagnosis and brake adjustment. Very friendly and honest folks over at the shop. I will definitely bring my car back for future problems. Will recommend this place to my friends and family.

I swung by several days ago to get an alignment for my 2015 Audi S3. Good and knowledgeable people there. They use a hydraulic type lift so if your car is lowered there shouldn’t be any problem. It felt like my car got the «pit crew» treatment when they pulled it in. Also, all their equipment looked modern and I received a data sheet that showed the «before and after» of the alignment process. Highly recommended.

Once you get your brakes serviced here, you’ll never go anyplace else. Clean shop, it’s family owned and operated for many years, they know what they’re doing. I highly recommend this place for excellent brake and customer service. I called and they were able to get me in the same day. My brake pads were replaced in less than 45 minutes and they offer shuttle service if you don’t want to wait. If you do decide to wait there, the outdoor patio seating is comfortable and covered so it’s the perfect place to sit and read a book or magazine. Come here for honest and reasonably priced brake service!

These guys made my car happy again! I dont know anything about cars except how to put gas in them. So after I paid a sham artist to fix my brakes a few months back and he did NOTHING apparently I had to get them fixed again. Luckily I found Carrolls on Unilocal and couldnt be more satisfied. They even repaired a messed up joint thingy that sounded awful. My car came back sounding healthy again and my brakes feel like they belong on a new car. I still dont know about car junk, but my car is much better after my visit to Carroll. Lesson is, go to Carrolls yo!

Yet again these guys rock! Took ‘da boss lady’s car in as there was something wrong with the parking brake. The guys at Carroll’s adjusted the brake and it works perfectly again. To top it all off they didn’t even charge me.
Every single time in the past when I’ve taken in our cars to get the brakes checked they always say to hold off until it really needs it. When they finally have to change the brakes they always do an excellent job and at a very fair price.
No surprise that generations of families have taken their cars for brake service at Carroll’s.

I had a hard time finding a shop that just specialized in brakes so when I saw the great reviews about this place I called them and they told me to drop on by. The brake service which included front and back brakes plus free tire air pressure check and rotation for around $ 320 + tax, was very reasonable. They were fast and friendly, so I would highly recommend when looking for someone who specializes in brake service.
PS-​They also service classic cars as well. :-)

Just left the shop right now! This is my first review ever and I felt I had to come out and say how awesome of an experience I had here. Cane in early when the opened„ turned out I needed both front and back brakes replaced since both were pretty bad.
Turned out to only be $ 320 for front and back brake replacementand literally only took an hour and twenty minutes of wait time! The guys were great and friendly. Definitely bringing all my cars here in the future.

My brand new brakes was giving me issues, yes brand new brakes because some idiot mechanic Mickey Mouse my brakes on my poor car.
These guys handle it, gave me advice on what I needed to do, got my 10 dollars off by checking in.
Drop off car, called and gave me details and update and viola it’s done and now my kitten is happy. No squeaks, no noise, no complaints and a happy customer!

Excellent Service!
It’s tough to find an honest mechanic who is conscientious about their work and the safety of their customers. This is a family owned business and it appears that there are three generations working there. My car died in their driveway and they diagnosed it right away and gave me an accurate estimate of the time it would take to repair. They were up front about the repairs and cost and connected with me during the day to ask about repair options and the impacts to expenses. Great communication with me and among each other. When I went to pay, he even took money off the top… and he didn’t have to do that! They really seem like nice sincere people… and my car has been running MUCH better! I will continue to go to them, and for more than just brakes.
