Big T Mini Mart

The cigarettes are more expensive than most places but it’s really dope inside. The employees have a dope vibe, had a nice chat with Ed!

Can anyone help solve this mystery:
This was once the site of the beleaguered Cantonese restaurant Big 3. Now it is the shiny new mini mart Big T. Surely they must be the same owners… right? The kid behind the counter quickly denied it when I asked, but my friend and I believe there was an old Cantonese daai lo whispering in his earpiece that if he revealed the true identity of Big T’s owner, he and his family would be killed.
Are the same checkbooks and stacks of cash that years ago kept the old lazy susans full of tilapia and honey walnut shrimp at Big 3 now funding the immaculately lit rows of sports drinks and Japanese snacks at Big T?
Or is this just an incredible coincidence, to be dismissed and forgotten in the night, tossed like an old cigarette into a darkened parking lot? The SGV can be strange indeed…

Walking along Main Street, we stumbled across this new convenience store and decided to grab some snacks. The store was stocked from hot and cold food items, household necessities, huge cooler filled with variety of beverages, over a hundred different types of snacks, lottery tickets, medicine, cigarettes and even phone chargers. After walking through every isle, we noticed bacon jerkey. Who can say no to bacon? I loved how clean and well kept this store was and the people working there are so friendly! This is the place where you can grab fresh donuts and good quality coffee before heading to work or even those nights when you have late night cravings. They are open till midnight on the weekends!

Great addition to Alhambra, Stop by pretty often before work to get a water, soda or chips. Very clean store and friendly employees. I enjoy the variety of drink such as Mountain Dew (regular, code red, voltage. and another blue one). Plenty of options available for chips, and drinks.

This is a great little store with plenty of products but no beer. They sell Lottery tickets here which is the main reason I come here after going to the Farmer’s Market on Sundays. The employees are always friendly and helpful.

This store is immaculate and very well-​stocked. A nicer version of 7 – 11. Stopped in for lotto tickets recently and was impressed at the cleanliness of the store. Lots of parking out front. Friendly employees. This place used to be a Chinese restaurant but they gutted it and wow what a difference! With all of the recent developments along this stretch of Main Street, this is a nice addition. Heard that they are in the middle of some liquor license controversy. I hope that it can be resolved soon for both parties so that the store can survive. Will be back soon!

Been wanting to check out Big T Mini Mart since it opened a couple of months ago. The place still looks super clean and new, with a pretty good selection of snacks and drinks. Think 7-​Eleven or AM/​PM, but a much much nicer version of the two. The store also sells lottery tickets. I’ll probably get my lottery tickets here from now on. Yes, I know that the odds are almost impossible, but I can dream.
The Big T Mini Mart has it’s own parking at the front of the store, so there’s no need to look for street parking. Parking can be hard to find sometimes on Main Street in Alhambra. Will definitely be back!

In a bevy of 7 – 11 convenience stores in the area, is Big T Mini Mart. Big T Mini Mart seems to be a local mart aiming to be a little different, while hoping to be better than the big chains. They succeed in the outside look, and the design and layout of the inside. Also, the plentiful variety of snacks, including the Hapi brand are definitely enticing. Not to mention, the diverse selection of drinks, I had a tough time picking which one I liked the most. The selection definitely beats that of their competitors.
However, price-​wise it seems to me everything appears 20 to 50c more expensive. Also, their hot dog game needs work. Toppings, condiments, cheese, chili seems exactly identical to 7 – 11, but just did not look as appetizing and wasn’t completely replenished. Regular size hot dog did not taste good, which I attribute to the bread bun quality. Aside from these slight cons, I’ll go for whichever convenience store is closer and still open. So if around Main/​Garfield than Big T Mini Mart is the way to go.

This recently established convenience store is a welcome addition to the City of Alhambra! It is clean, well-​stocked with beverages, edibles and miscellaneous items of all sorts, and is staffed by a very friendly and helpful group of people. Unfortunately, the City of Alhambra’s «powers-​that-​be» have forestalled for too long this store’s ability to sell wine and beer, despite the fact that a liquor license has been granted to a not-​yet-​opened food market directly across the street from Big T. Here’s hoping (and urging) whomever is responsible for such decisions to do the fair and equitable thing!

Nice to have a mini mart on this side of Main St. Clean and fully stocked with a nice variety of ethnic snacks and foods. Couldn’t resist getting the Japanes Sesame Bits snack bag and an icee… kiddo got Pringles and a fruit punch. Friendly service too.

This convenience store is better than 7 – 11 and the staff is really friendly! There are a lot of drinks and snacks here, so if you’re in the area hungry or thirsty, you can stop by.

We frequent Alhambra and San Gabriel area twice a week and only by chance we came across Big «T» Mini-​Mart. I don’t normally post reviews on any social medias but this place truly deserves five-​plus stars. The store is well stocked and immaculately maintained, ample parking, easy in and out access — a convenience store in every sense of the phrase. The staff, I’ve probably met all the employees by now including the owner and they are great — all customer oriented and helpful. One of my personal favorites is the chili dogs.

Friendly service, clean well stocked with all my favorite stuff! The coolers are nice and cold. My drinks were refreshing and I loved the Bacon Jerky who knew?

Great selection of snacks, drinks and food (hot dogs, nachos, fruit, yogurt). Very clean and the staff behind the counter are friendly. They have their own parking lot which makes it easy to get in and out.

This is one of the nicest mini marts I’ve ever been inside. Very clean, has big screen TVs over the coolers, great drink selection. My favorite part of this place is how cold the cooler drinks are — super chilly!

This is a great little convenience store. More clean than 7 – 11 and great prices. The staff is friendly as well. They have everything you want in a convenience store and more. They also have their own parking lot which is rare for businesses in Alhambra.

My son really liked the Blue Raspberry Icee Slush, which has a lot of flavor and is similar in consistency to a Slush Puppie.
Chili cheese nachos and all-​beef hot dogs are yummy as well!

I was in the area meeting friends for an early dinner. We saw the Big T sign and weren’t sure what this mart was all about so we stopped in to check it out. This location used to be an old Chinese restaurant so it was nice to see the brightness of the renovated space. Big T is almost like a quaint 7 – 11 but perhaps a bit smaller.
They have hot dog franks on those hot roller thingies, icee (s), packaged sandwiches, lots of junk food, etc. Everything is nicely organized and the owner (Trent?) was friendly and genuinely excited about opening his own mini mart.
I noticed they currently do not have tobacco or liquor (there were empty tobacco dispensers behind the cash registers). Trent said that he’s hoping to carry those items soon.
They also carry brewed Boyd’s coffee which I think might the same amazing coffee that Original Pancake House serves? Plus they serve coke AND pepsi.
We noticed a cotton candy machine and inquired if they’ll be selling freshly spun cotton candy. A nice woman there said no it’s for their grand opening special and she could make us one right then and there! So that was really fun.
There was plenty of parking in the small parking lot that afternoon. Overall, Big T is a nice addition to this part of town and we’d come back if we’re in this part of town again.
