Impossible to find someone, let alone someone who knows what the hell they’re talking about.
They love to have huge signs strung up everywhere about having the lowest prices but you will have to fight them tooth and nail to actually guarantee it, AND it’s only if you catch them on it!
All their chemicals and cleaning supplies are about 30−80% more expensive than Menards or WalMart. Same thing with many of their rough electrical and plumbing supplies. They will only drop the price of you have a competitor’s ad. If you don’t then you’re just screwed and lied to about the prices. It’s blatant false advertising.
The limited selection they DO have it appears that they at least have that in stock. Better off going to Menards. Smarter people, better prices and way better selection.

I bought a product that I was not happy with. I went in kind of upset but didn’t want to be rude (I have a similar job where people can be pretty mean) and I was able to return what I bought without an issue. Danette was the one who helped me, and Mike B was the manager who approved my return. Thank you both so much. I was freaking out over this, but was relieved when I was helped by you both.

We bought a warranty plan with our dishwasher and Home Depot has not honored it at all. It has been a disaster one right after another. Never at all big from them. Go to ABT — they don’t have third party subcontractors working on your machine.

I am always amazed at the variety that they have started to get in. The employees are extremely knowledgable. I needed a particular tile and Robert at the tile department was more than happy to help bring down a couple of boxes so that I could get the exact grain. He answered all my questions thoroughly, explained pros /​cons of a product.
This is not the first instance. We have had this experience in other departments too. This store is an A +.

Undertook several projects at home on the past several months and every department I needed to interact with had staff that was willing to take time and answer my questions and assist with any help I needed finding the right tool or product for the project.

The young gentleman in the section where the garage doors were, was so helpful in the whole purchase. He knew it like the back of his hand and also got us all the hardware and things needed to get the whole job done. I wish we could remember his name but he really was great. Also friendly so it wasn’t like he made us feel stupid for not knowing about the product and what it would need.

Had to try several times to purchase a stove. Stove arrived damaged. Nice people bad process

EXCELLENT AND FRIENDLY STAFF! Thank you for the customer service! Too many times at Lowe’s and Menard’s the staff walls away to not have to interact with customers. I like that here they walk up to you and ask if we need assistance finding something etc. I usually have a toddler by me and would prefer being pointed the right direction vs having to look around! Thanks!

Bought a major appliance here, Salesperson interested in closing the sale and not building repeat business. I’d done my research and made my decision, so it didn’t matter. To someone walking in off the street, it would have. Got to the checkout and I had a question about the final price, clerk looked at me and said «don’t have an answer». It was $ 1.30, I didn’t want to take the time to press the issue. Do your homework before shopping here.

I used Home Depot to replace my kitchen countertops, sink, faucet and disposal. The first sales person didn’t calculate things correctly. The next sales person tried to be helpful, but couldn’t get the answers to all my questions (I never did hear back from her about something.)
Home Depot uses a 3^rd party for measuring and installation (A.E Smith). The guy who came out to measure was very nice, but he could not answer my questions about the finished edge I had ordered. Installation was a terrible experience — one of the guys had to rip out something that another guy had done (this was a guy who kept saying he normally just delivers things… I can see why). The overhang on every edge is different (sometimes by more than an inch.) They brought filthy drop cloths that didn’t cover most of my wood floors. The vacuum they brought to clean up spewed smoke and dirt all over the kitchen. I called to talk to the manager, but he seemed a little offended that I was upset.
Buyer beware — DO NOT use Home Depot for kitchen remodeling projects. You can find all these products anywhere (Kohler, Moen, Insinkerator) — go anywhere else but Home Depot (Algonquin).

The one in BG has a great staff but limited selections.

I do not care for «big box» stores. I do not care for endless searches of endless aisles walking past endless shelves of endless variations of the exact same items — only, of course, not the exact one I’m looking for — with no employees in sight (at least, none that work in or know the section I’m searching through).
That said, that endlessness of it all means you;ll find something that «fits,» that works, even if it’s not what you were looking for. Maybe, if I twist this there, or that there, or just change the whole danged thing so I can use what they carried at the Home Depot.
Man, I miss local hardware stores.
As for tools and such, rather than looking for things that fit or work in a project, and maybe other items like, oh, doors or such, the endless selection is an improvement over the old days. I’m still a guy, and endless aisles of tools has its attraction (at least a couple hours worth). So … there’s that.

My expectations are always met and exceeded at Home Depot on Randall Rd I Algonquin. I get good education and expert and timely advice. Staff never pushes products… perhaps Home Depot has taken this chapter from Apple stores.
I do a lot of my shopping on Amazon but even if have to pay a little more in taxes at Home Depot it’s worth it. I am quite happy with the help I just received from Jason who seemed to be off the clock but was happy to help me.

Wife and I bought a house in LITH and have been coming here to get our renovation needs. Just like we did in Hoffman, Schaumburg, and naperville. This place is THE WORST. From poor employee management to missed deadlines for our counter tops to having to replace ordered doors twice — there are other options in the area — use them. Very aggravating experience.

Since buying a house last year, this Home Depot has been a regular hangout.
While some customers are bothered when employees ask if they need help, I enjoy the constant barrage of «Are you finding everything okay?» I prefer to know that support is always around to answer questions. I felt like the employees we talked to had a great wealth of knowledge and contributed to me getting the proper equipment for my projects.
One thing I don’t enjoy… the constant push for the credit card application, at the cashier.

I’m remodeling my house, and I must be in this store at least 3 times a week. Sometimes 3 times in a night. The staff here is wonderful. I’ve never been in the store and not been asked if I could be helped by several people. The store is well laid out, everything is easy to find. And their return policy is great, never a hassle.

In the interest of full disclosure, a member of Home Depot ‘s Customer Care Dept. immediately contacted store management on my behalf. The assistant store manager then contacted me and asked that I bring the defective pressure washer back to the store for an even exchange, which I did. The exchange was a no-​hassle experience.
It is important to note, however, that a disconnect remains between the manufacturer warranty and the Home Depot store itself. When I called the manufacturer to inquire about a warranty repair, or just to send me the broken part and I would have been happy to install it myself, they informed me that the local Home Depot is actually the «authorized service center» for the Homelite pressure washer. When I called Home Depot to get service, they said that I would have to pay $ 35 to have a «diagnosis» done so that someone could tell me that a $ 16 part is broken.
So much for a two year warranty.
So all in all, I’m happy in that my pressure washer is no longer broken in two and the new one appears to be working just fine. In the back of my mind, however, I am still a bit uneasy because what happens if it breaks again?
Home Depot as a company should really sit down and have a chat with their vendors to outline exactly how warranty repairs are to be handled in the event that Home Depot is the «authorized service center» for the item. Charging a customer a $ 35 diagnosis fee to tell him that, indeed, a $ 16 part is broken and it will take 4 – 6 weeks to send the unit off for repair does not inspire confidence in their merchandise when it comes to my future purchasing decisions.

I’m waking up and rinsing off my dirty dishes in the sink and BA-​BOOM, the sprayer flies off and water is everywhere… I stumble upstairs, throw on some warm up pants and a hoodie and off to home depot I go. Oh shiiii, should get a new 5 gallon water bottle too, grabbed that.
This home depot is hit or miss, but if you go here look for a guy on the floor named SAL. He knows his shiii. He’s a buddy of mine who can help you with your needs. I asked SAL what the deal is, why does this thing fly off (this isn’t the first time). He told me to adjust the water underneath the sink and possible uprgrade to a higher GPM (gallons per minute) sprayer for the faucet.
Previously I was in here asking him about the furnace screens and he recommended the $ 7 compared to the $ 20 one I was going to buy. So far I can’t tell a difference.
SAL is the shiiii there, seriously find him if you go there. The check-​out ladies are past their prime, but I aint hatin’! Just takin a star away for the god awful attempt at make-​up this chic tried. Yikes!
Not sure why all the Hinkley bottles there seem beat to shiii, said something to the beat up old clown lady and she didn’t know either. Shoulda asked SAL, I’m sure he knew.
SAL you the shiiii bro, you’re underpaid… see ya soon.
