History
Established in 2011.
I opened the doors of Strack’s Barber Shop in April of 2011 as a one chair, one man operation. Finding myself missing the beautiful Big Sky country and the Rocky Mountains, I modeled my Barber Shop off of the years I spent in the rugged mountains of Montana, Idaho, and Colorado. It is… my log home away from home. After I hit 2 years in business and with customers steadily growing, it came time to expand to a 2 chair, 2 Barber shop. And as of January 1st, 2014… per many customers requests… I added appointments available on Thursdays and Fridays in to the system.

Business Owner
While growing up right here in Algonquin, I began cutting hair when I was 14 years old in my parents basement. This developed out of wearing a flat-top (unfortunately, simultaneously worn with a mullet and racing stripes shaved into the sides) that nobody seemed to be able to do quite as well as I could do on myself. And there it began… cutting my friends, family, and girlfriends along the way. When my college degree from the University of Montana proved not to be as financially beneficial as I would have liked… off to Barber College I went in the shadows of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, CO in 1999. In the Fall of 2004, I moved back to Algonquin, and after several years of establishing a loyal following of clientele, I opened the doors of Strack’s Barber Shop in April of 2011. You will find that my shop is a comfortable blending of a traditional Barber Shop reminiscent of the late 1800’s to early 1900’s, and a Rocky Mountain log cabin.
