Okay, that’s cool, just don’t pick me up.
From Chicago O’Hare, I was told to wait 30 – 45 minutes because they were backed up, which was fine. The same woman who picked me up at the airport and dropped me off at the hotel then promised that she’d be back at the hotel in the morning. But she never came back… I ended up calling an Über, otherwise I would’ve missed my flight.
The only decent part of my experience was that the dispatcher was friendly. She tried to get a cab out as soon as possible for me when I told her the situation.

Upon arrival at O’Hare, driver demanded $ 42
Called to complain, office manager said they had no record of pickup,

Cab#60 is wonderful! I have taken a few rides to both Chicago airports with Cab#60 and have always had a pleasant ride. Great service! I will only try to take rides with All Star Cab when I am in the Chicagoland area.

It seems like they really don’t need customers by the way their dispatcher treats them. I called to book a cab as an airport pickup and was greeted by nothing but rudeness. Inquiring about their rate seemed like a huge burden just like picking up the phone to respond to my call must have been too. I was surprised that she only noted my name — no flight details — like others do to be able to track the flights status in case of delays.
After a nights sleep and talking to some colleagues and hearing nothing but bad feedback I decided to cancel my booking and take my business elsewhere. I called again, said I had called the day before to arrange pick-​up. I didn’t even make it to the end of my sentence before the lovely dispatcher interrupted me asking if I was at the airport. I said no, but that I wanted to cancel my previous booking, to which she replied «let me take care of that» and hung up. No «good bye» or «let me make sure I have the correct one» or anything. So I called back to reconfirm that she had indeed cancelled it. When I mentioned her hanging up, she ‘apologized’ (ever hear someone apologize who definitely did not mean it? that was her! like a 4 year old who’s asked to apologize for stealing someone else’s lollipop) and said she thought we were done. Oh well — we definitely are now. Thanks a lot!
Can’t comment on the cabs or drivers but I sure hope they’re friendlier and more helpful then the dispatcher…
PS: Following the comment from Brian from All Star Cab I appreciate that they followed up on my post. I hope that future customers will benefit from this.

Extremely rude dispatchers. We had one nice driver but he couldn’t help us get home from our destination. Definitely will never use them again.

I don’t think I’ve ever been this anxious to write a review in my life! I’m dying to warn ANYONE looking to book this cab service to pick another service. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had utilizing a «services» company of any kind!
My wife and I were coming to Chicago for business, and the conference recommended using All Star because they’re cheaper than anyone else apparently. We called when we landed, and waited for our cab. We were told 20 minutes, but the wait was closer to an hour.
The cab driver pulls up in a cruddy old looking mini van. My wife jumps in the van as I’m putting the stuff in the trunk. I go to get in the cab, and my wife has the most sour face in the world on, looking at me like she just saw someone murdered right in front of her. I look around, coast is clear. I get in looking at her wondering what the hell is going on, and then I finally understand.
This cab… literally. Ok… wait a minute, seriously. I’m not exaggerating this in the slightest. The smell in this cab was a mixture of the body odor of a person who had not showered in days after jogging 10 miles a day, urine, and the smell of a NYC subway. It was awful. It really seemed like this driver lived in this van and had no access to a shower for months.
So I had a choice. I could either deal with it since this cab was $ 40 cheaper to the hotel than any other service, or I could pay the money to another service and be on my way. I should have chosen the latter, because it was about a 25 minute ride to the hotel.
My wife literally… ok, here we go again, I’m being serious. My wife literally gagged, sound and all, a few times. If this guy wasn’t playing the radio, he would have probably been thinking «what’s going on?».
I’m not wearing the clothes I wore in that cab ever again because I never want to remember that this ride even took place, or that I was a part of it. We could have ridden a bicycle to the hotel which was 15 miles away, after a 4 hour flight, which we worked 10 hour shifts before that flight… and would have smelled better.
I apologize if our driver has some sort of condition, but as a responsible company you need to check your cabs out everyday for this kind of thing. This was awful.
I sincerely hope that people read this review and understand that nothing is exaggerated, and I hope that I save you from one of the worst experiences you’ll ever encounter.

This is the first time I wrote a review. If there was a 0 star, I would give them 0 star.
Before my trip, I made a reservation with them for my coming back flight. So when we flew back to ORD, I called All-​star, and was told that my reservation was not available. That’s fine, so I booked a new one, and was told that it would take 30 – 45 mins. Ok. So I waited for 45 mins, and called back to find out where my cab was. I was surprised to know that my cab was not even dispatched. They would dispatch ‘ASAP’.
After 30 mins, I called back and was told that my cab was not even dispatched. Called back again, the same — ‘not dispatched’.
That’s enough, So I called another cab company, I got my cab in about 10 mins, although I paid a little more.
I don’t understand why this company stays in the business, because they don’t seem to care. Stay away from this company folks!

Booked a cab exactly at midnight on new year’s eve! I was told that the waiting time would be 30 mins. We requested for a 1am pickup instead. Called back at 105am and the dispatcher told me that the wait time would be another 1.5 hours to 2 hrs. The guy on the phone vehemently denied that we were not informed about the wait time during the first call. What an absolute nightmare! Avoid these guys!

This is the worst cab service in the world! I came back from a trip from overseas and was picked up from O’Hare airport brought back into the suburbs around Schaumburg area. My cab fee came up to $ 51 because that was agreed upon prior to my trip. So that was fine. I used my credit card to pay for the cab fee and come to find out weeks later the taxi cab driver took it upon himself to add a 5 dollar tip without my consent!
I found this out when my credit card bill came in mail and then when i tried to fix it by calling the All-​Star company the lady asked if I had any proof and I said yes, I have the receipt in which I signed stating payment of $ 51 ONLY and my credit card statement. I told her by no means did I approve of adding a 5 dollar tip onto my credit card payment. Anyway, nothing was fixed and I eventually gave up trying to fix it and I got screwed over for 5 dollars extra. I notified the company so that they are aware that their cab drivers are ripping the customers off by adding their OWN tips on credit card transactions but they didn’t seem to be surprise nor care much.
Don’t use this company! if you don’t want cheating cab drivers to add their own tips onto your card payments. I suggest you pay with cash!

BEWARE FRAUDULENT CREDIT CARD CHARGES — All Star Cab charged my card 4 months after I visited Chicago for a conference and used their services. Problem is I live in San Diego so there is no way I could being using their cab company. I called the «company» directly (some guy just picked up and said hello like I had called him at home) to let them know what happened. They said they could not help me unless I gave them my credit card information over the phone. Why would I do that when you have already fraudulently charged me once? No thanks. Currently in dispute resolution with my credit card company.

I was headed to Elk Grove Village for an interview. I called All Star from the Metra, asking them to meet me at the Metra station at the time I was supposed to arrive. No problem. When I was three minutes away, they called, asking when I was due, and I told them I would be there in a few minutes.
I got off the train, saw a cab driver, asked him if he was waiting for me, he said yes, I got in, and off we went. 10 minutes into the drive, I got a call from All Star, asking where I was. Turned out I had gotten into a Universal cab (which I have things to say about as well)! I apologized profusely to the dispatcher, he seemed to understand, he said it was okay, and we moved on.
After the interview, I called All Star again, because I wanted to make it up to them by giving them my business. A different dispatcher picked up, and when I told him where I was going, he launched into a tirade, saying that his driver was still waiting for me at the train station (which was surely a lie). I told him that I spoke to a dispatcher earlier, and that I had accidentally gotten into the wrong cab. He didn’t even listen to me, he scolded me for «not having the common courtesy to call and let them know,» and then he said «sorry, I don’t have any cabs for you» and he HUNG UP.
WHAT!!! That is absolutely not how business is done. You don’t act like a bratty school girl and whine about your customer not having courtesy and then deny your customer service. That’s how you lose business. Absolutely unprofessional, and not something I needed to deal with right after an interview. AVOID ALL STAR.
I ended up calling Flash Cab and had a perfectly lovely experience.

I could have been beaten.
I could have been murdered.
My lifeless body could have been dumped in the rock quarry near my drop off location.
But it wasn’t. Not even close. I never felt even the slightest urge to reach for my rape whistle. –yes, I carry a rape whistle.
What I got was actually a pleasant and relaxing cab ride from the only cab company that would pick little olé me up from the mean streets of a suburban country club wedding venue at midnight.
You see, after a series of unfortunate events that led to me being the sad dateless bridesmaid at one of my best friend’s weddings, I knew I was going to be in the market for a cab on the night of the wedding but I had underestimated just how insanely difficult it would be to get one to pick me up from a country/​golf club that’s less than 10 minutes from the Midwest’s largest airport. Whodathunkit? I called 11 cab companies that either didn’t answer, were no longer in business, or just plain refused to drive to the fine city of Bensenville to pick my orphan bridesmaid ass up.
All Star Cab was my 12^th call and the last listing for cabs on the yellow pages online ( Unilocal didn’t have any cab listings in that area, otherwise I obvi would have used that). I was thinking All Star probably wouldn’t take me in being that they’re based out of Elgin, a city that’s no where near my pick up or drop off location, but they did– maybe because they had sensed that I had totally been balling in the bride’s bathroom prior to dialing their number wallowing in the fact that not only am I dateless for the first time in 10 years but also that NO ONE, not even people who’s sole job it is, would be there to pick me up and make sure I got home… safely, that is… because it wouldn’t count if I arrived in a body bag.
My driver was Robert. A fantastic 50 – 60 something salt and pepper haired man in good spirits who picked me up in less than 15 minutes after calling, when dispatch told me it’d be at least 30. Our conversation was minimal but welcomed as I enjoyed listening to Robert talk about the weather and the traffic that night and he seemed to enjoy hearing about how nice the wedding was. Robert was a gentlemen and though *technically* a stranger, I felt safe in van cab #048 because of his demeanor. Also, when we arrived at my destination (my lonely car parked at the end of the Bride’s family’s cul-​de-​sac) Robert waited to make sure I got safely into my car and gave the thumbs up to him that I was okay. Travis Bickle would’ve been proud. #ClassActCabbie
And just for the record, the tunage on my ride was better than the tunage at most weddings. Elvis. Bowie. Iggy. Orbison. The only thing that could have made this cab ride better would’ve been if it had turned out to be the Cash Cab.

NEVER USE ALLSTAR! ONLY USE AMERICAN!
I called for a taxi before getting on a train at union station and told them to come pick me up at the Roselle train station at 11 24 pm. I get there and there’s an allstar cab there — but it takes other passengers from my train.
I call them again for another cab — they tell me it will be 30 minutes. That is unacceptable.
I look up another taxi company on my phone. I call American taxi. They say 15 minutes and they get there in 10. As I’m getting in to the American taxi — allstar taxi is pulling in and speeds over to us, gets out of his car, and is pounding on our car as we are pulling away — yelling.
I proceed to tell my cab driver how to get to my house. The allstar cab driver is following us. He follows us for about 10 – 15 minutes until we’re close to my house. My cab driver pulls in to a different court and as he’s doing a u-​turn, rolls down the window to talk to the other cab driver who is yelling at us. Tells him they messed up the order, we are calling the police on him for following me, and that we’re reporting his cab number (WHICH IS 0204 or 0240, i believe).
In short, ALLSTAR IS HORRIBLE. I was EXTRMELY SCARED AND ANGRY TONIGHT. It’s UNACCEPTABLE to leave the person who called you stranded at a train station alone at night like that and then take 30 mins to send me another cab in that situation… AND THEN FOR THEM TO BEHAVE LIKE THAT!!!
My only advice is NEVER EVER USE ALLSTAR. My american cab driver was a freaking BOSS FOR HANDLING IT THE WAY HE DID.

This is much cleaner than American Taxi. Especially, for the Mount Prospect area, I like the service very much.
Highly recommended.
