Algona Animal Hospital

I went to Algona Animal Hospital for the first time today. I absolutely loved it. They were so nice and friendly there, I can’t say enough about either of them. The place I had been taking my dog to in Kent was always so crowded and took forever, especially on a Saturday and because of their hours and my work schedule, Saturday was the only day I could go. At Algona, I was able to make an appointment and we were the only ones there. They have great hours and I’m able to take my dog there after work, if I need to. Absolutely can’t say enough about this place.

I had just gotten a new puppy and we came here to get a check up and his shots done. I had received a coupon in the mail for this place and thought I would use it. At the end of the visit I presented the coupon and the woman told me to use it next time. Thinking maybe it would save me more money on his shots, I brought it with me the next time. After that appointment I tried once more to use the coupon and she told me to use it next time. At that point I knew they weren’t going to except it. Why bother sending out coupons if you don’t honor them? Would not go here again and would not recommend.

My dog was hit by a car and I called them around 6:50pm. They told me to bring him in and treated him until well past their 7pm closing time. They were friendly and the vet took his time to explain every step and procedure. I’m not sure if they’re an emergency hospital, but they did an outstanding job. I will definitely take my dog for any future veterinary needs.

Prices are reasonable. Vet and his wife are very nice honest people. I would highly recomend.

I’d have to say I have never had a better experience at any veterinary clinic. Not only are these people kind they are very honest. They really do care about the animals that are brought in. Not long after this establishment opened I brought my dog in to have something checked out, and a couple days later they called just to check up on him, and to make sure he was doing better. They also told me I had over paid by some mistake and wanted to be sure I got the money returned to me. I would have never known. Honest and caring people run this clinic! I will never go anywhere else.

My cat had been acting strange in the morning before work & was being unusually vocal. Now I realize that he was trying to tell me something. While at work he was getting progressively worse. I called to see if I could get him in that evening & after describing his condition to Dr. Mangat’s wife, was told he needed to be seen right away. In short, I asked if l my sister could bring him in & I’d pay by phone. We live in Lakeland & within minutes he was being comforted & treated. They kept us informed on his treatment and condition. When me & my husband arrived after work we were amazed by the love & compassion they treated him with. After an overnight stay for observation they still called the following day to check in on him. Dr. Mangat is amazing. His bedside manner is genuine, a huge assurance for pet lovers who are overwhelmed with worry. I can’t say enough about Algona Animal Hospital. My cat and dog have just lucked out… They will be in the best of hands going forward!

I woke up to my puppy needing medical attention asap. I called to see if I could get in and be seen and it was within 2 hours of my call. The staff are very friendly and (I believe its his wife) put me at ease when I called them freaking out. I will be bring all my pets here from now on and have told all my neighbors since I live in Algona :) Great people!

I have a usual vet in federal way that I go to, but I woke up one Sunday morning recently to my dog not putting any weight on one of her front legs and our vet isn’t open on Sundays! We were supposed to go out of town that day so I was FREAKING out! Mostly I was afraid my baby had broken her leg! I called a couple other vets in federal way, they were either closed or couldn’t see us until much later in the day. When I called Algona I was ecstatic they could see us right away! I was greeted by (I believe) the owners wife, she got my information and showed me to a room. I then saw the vet tech who was very pleasant and nice, then the doctor came in as we all examined my dog thoroughly (my dog is very nervous and not good with strangers, especially touching her) but they were very understanding and let me help hold her so there wasn’t any issues! We couldn’t find anything externally that was hurting her, so they gave us some pain killers and anti-​inflammatory. My dog also has cushings which is very $$$ so I really appreciate when they only charged me for ½ the dr’s visit because it was fast (normally $ 65) they had the medication right there for us to take and after the visit and medication my total was only $ 85!!! We opted to not do x-​rays right then because she didn’t have issues with touching and twisting if her foot/​leg like you might expect. The dr suspected a sprain most likely. The next day my dogs toe was red a very swollen. I was glad we had the anti-​inflammatory AND the pain killers, the pain killers made her drowsy and really helped me keep her off her feet! (She was trying to tri-​pod around so quickly she’d trip and fall) after the 3^rd day my dog was looking better and putting a little weight on her foot. It was all smooth sailing from there out. I can’t say how thankful I am that Algona Vet was there to help us! They also called the next day and checked in with me to see how things were going! If it wasn’t for my living further away I would switch and make them my full time animal health care facility! If you’re in the area please go see them!

I have been seeing Dr. Mangat since 2005 when he worked at another practice. Even though his new practice is a bit further, I still take my pets to him.
During a time of financial hardship, he was kind enough to help with a surgery that my dog needed badly. This shows how caring he really is when it comes to the pets he treats and the customers that come in.
And when it came time to let go of a dog I had for 14 years and later a cat in kidney failure, the compassion him and his wife showed was of great comfort. You could tell by his actions he cared for the pet even to the end and that it effected him as well.
For this, I will continue to use his services and would recommend him highly.

I took my dogs to the Algona Animal Hospital and found the staff helpful and the facility clean. I found the cost reasonable and comparable to other vets and the facility a step above most. The vet tech was very kind to my dogs Sadie and Maggie. The front office staff was helpful and accurate with the service provided at the check in desk. The doctor (Dr. Mangat) was helpful and very knowledgeable with the problem my dog had. He gave me the full range of options all of which would deal with Sadie’s problem and I chose the option that fit our budget and lifestyle. I have found a new vet for our dogs and cat.
