What a perfect destination after viewing the Boat Parade of Lights at the waterfront in Old Town! I’m a fan of the Torpedo Factory in general; it’s such a great way to connect the community with local artists. I enjoyed the open house immensely because, although I have visited the Torpedo Factory numerous times, I have never seen as many studios open as there were during the open house. I got to visit many studios I had peered into before that were now finally open! Many of the studios had light snacks-cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies, chocolate– in their studios. They were serving wine from somewhere, unfortunately though, I never located where that was for sale. There was a beautiful choir providing nice background melodies. This was a great stop to warm up and enjoy some art before heading back into the blustery night.

It was well organized and a fun time. I especially liked making a Christmas card at the Unilocal booth.

I really loved this open house, for it was a great chance to purchase some wonderfully unique gifts for the holidays. Also, there is something really satisfying about supporting local artist. And speaking of artist, I have to thank Gretchen and Team Unilocal for giving me the chance to bring out my inner Picasso with the creation of my own Christmas cards. My bestie and I loved Team Unilocal’s selection of stamps, markers, and paper, and of course Gretchen’s advice went a long way to assuring that my cards will tickle the fancy of all on my Naughty and Nice list this year… That’s right, friends and family, if you’ve been naughty, you’ll get your own special Christmas Card this year.
