They shut the water off without informing the residents once or twice a month it’s absolutely ridiculous. The front desk is mediocre especially Mustapha who always has an attitude and treats all residents disrespectfully — have seen it numerous times. The a/c is set to be switched to cold every May 15; pretty ignorant considering the weather has been changing for the past decade. I personally can live with it but I can’t imagine senior citizens having to sleep with all this heat at night.

I am so surprised to read two of the reviews about water leaking and damage. I moved here in 2013 and the same problems exist all these years later. Unbelievable!

Updating my review now that I’ve lived here two years: First, I just have to correct the last reviewer. There certainly are elevators here. It’s a high-rise with 17 floors! Don’t move here unless you like water leaks. I have had four in the last year. The pipes are awful. The condo association is working on replacing the entire plumbing system but that will take years and will be disruptive and expensive for owners.(Not sure if this will be funded through a special assessment or what but it won’t be cheap.) The front desk staff is nice and friendly. There is a small gym with decent equipment and an outdoor pool where friendly neighbors socialize all summer.(Then they hibernate all winter.) There are two or three community events in spring and summer, for example, tag sales and cook outs. The building can be loud sometimes. With 314 units its seems like somebody is always renovating a unit nearby. Some of these projects are extremely noisy and seemingly endless. The renovators are allowed to make all kinds of noise and even use jackhammers(I’m not kidding!!) as long as it’s during reasonable hours. Personally I don’t think any hour is reasonable for jackhammering in a multi-dwelling building. The worst thing is the traffic in the area. It takes forever to get anywhere evenings and weekends, however during the work day the whole area clears out so it’s easier to get around. I guess that’s the case for the whole metro area, though. It’s a couple miles from Van Dorn metro station but good luck finding parking there on weekdays after 7:30 a.m. There is a bus that will take you to the Pentagon Metro but it takes half an hour to get there because of all the stops.(There is an express bus that leaves from the corner of Oasis Drive and Little River Turnpike that takes only 11 minutes, but by the time you walk there you might as well have taken the one that comes right in front of The Fountains.) Visitors parking sucks. Each unit gets two tags for guest parking but the spots fill up fast and the tow trucks love to snag cars without tags. Residents can buy(around $ 10,000) or rent(about $ 100/month) assigned garage parking spaces, so if you live here you’ll always have a place to park but your visitors will be out of luck. Parking on surrounding streets also fills up fast. I have had guests leave because they could not find a parking place anywhere in the vicinity.(The Fountains is right near a shopping plaza with lots of parking but the tow trucks will get you there too.) The units are individually owned. Many of the owners rent their condos and prices vary widely. You can probably get a small one-bedroom here for around $ 1,250-$ 1,400. Two-bedroom units go for between $ 1,650 and 1,850. There are also some three-bedroom units here but I don’t know how much they rent for. There are mandatory move-in fees charged by the condo association. Bottom line: I wish I hadn’t moved here but it isn’t bad enough to make me want to endure the hassle and expense of moving.

My friends own a small 1 bedroom condo here and it is great. No elevators though — so you have to walk up to the 3rd floor and lug groceries, furniture, etc. They are also pet friendly. The best part is the BIG pool and lovely community center where we had a big party. There is a room with a ping pong table & pool table, as well as a dining room with a large kitchen. NICE! We enjoyed visiting here.
