Strayer University – Alexandria Campus

For a «for profit» school, and a long list of students, I’m surprised there’s not more reviews! As a young adult that wanted to continue my education, I worked hard, paid as I went and graduated with BBA here in 2010. This was my primary campus. My last year or so was spent on-​line. Over the years, the financial aid office’s inability to stay organized was a sour spot, causing a few headaches along the way. I had great professors, but as a whole many of them were «dated» in terms of contemporary experience in terms of business practices and what’s «really out there.» Some of the professors here in my time were simply not up to par professionally, and I felt somewhat «had.» For these rates, and this type of education, I would look into Stratford University, and up and coming campus that’s in the same complex, or another similar university. PLEASE NOTE: It wasn’t until the year I graduated that I realized that Strayer is «regionally acreddited,» not nationally. In terms of your degree or credits transferring to another University, this can be an issue depending on that institution’s policy for transference from a University like this. Certain Gov’t agencies as well as employers do not recognize, or will not accept degrees from this University as valid. Somewhat rare in my experience, but over the last 5 years in the job market, it does happen. Personally, as I watched tuition rates as well as bloated text book costs (they instituted a «custom book» system that made it impossible to re-​sell or purchase books on-​line, stuck me with costs big time) from 2002 – 2010, I’d say to look into a major University. Georgetown, GM, GW, and a lot of other great University’s. Proud of my time here, and the work I put in, but in good faith for advancement, I would not recommend Strayer.

Great staff, crappy parking. Great hours easy startup but the website is useless
