Specialties
Interior designer’s workroom and sewing workshops for home sewing. We can make, or help you make: pillows, shades, bedding, drapery, valances, slipcovers, table coverings and accessories.
We measure, design (if needed), sew, and install our work.
We have access to a complete line of fabrics, drapery hardware, linings, pillow forms and sewing notions for home sewing and upholstery. If we don’t have it in stock we can order it for you.
Our products are hand made (not home made) works of art. We use top quality elements (including clutch drives for shades) to construct our products.
Our hems are hand sewn for the best look and performance. Our drapery panels are hand sewn so that we can bring the lining within a quarter of an inch from the edge of the drapery, assuring as much protection from the sun as possible. Our pleats are hand tacked, insuring a perfect look. Everything is weighted where it needs to be, and finished as it should be.

Meet the Business Owner
Amelia B.
Business Owner
I am a maker. I believe that spending the time to make sure what I make is well made is what has keep me in business all these years. I love making things, especially for the home. It is my job to give my clients exquisitely made things, and it isn’t how long it takes that matters to me, it is how beautiful the final product is.
I began sewing at 6 years of age and have an innate love of textiles, design, and architecture. Any one that works in this studio loves to work with their hands and loves to do beautiful work.
I learned interior design sewing in New Zealand, studying under an old world master, Hillary Skinner.
From 1982 to 1989 I operated a workroom for interior designers in Western North Carolina.
Beginning in 1989 I studied handbag construction under Joan Elbers of «Majid Designs» Our handbags were carried by «Joan & David,» «Harold’s,» and numerous arts and crafts galleries across the United States.
