The food was very good plus it was hot n fresh. I would recommend a friend to go to this space anytime. The only thing I didn’t like was I asked the guy for three sauce to be put in my bag and he didn’t put any at all. Other then that very good store

Popeyes has been around since the early 70s and serves up New Orleans-style chicken. Besides the fried chicken, they also have tenders, sandwiches, wraps, tenders, sides, desserts, family meals, and kid options. I go between the Spicy wings(so crispy and crunchy; I douse it with the Louisiana hot sauce), the Butterfly Shrimp box(also has that great crispy batter; either the cocktail sauce or the Blackened Ranch are good dipping choices), or, very occasionally, the Chicken Po’Boy(a soft French baguette with shredded lettuce, pickles, and mayo; it contains tons of crispy chicken tenders, so I usually keep one in there and take the others out; it’s kind of like having 2 mini meals in one!). For the sides, I usually stick to the Cajun Fries, the Mashed Potatoes, and/or the Red Beans & Rice, also all great with the hot sauce. I’ve tried their Cinnamon Apple Pie recently, but I wasn’t really that impressed, even when it was fried-to-order. The key is to get the chicken that were freshly-fried, or luckily order when they are just out of the fryer — it makes a huge difference, compared to the ones that have been under the heat lamps for an hour or two. This location is a hit-or-miss, as the staff is usually stand-offish and they don’t really do a good job in cleaning up the beverage area. +Spicy wings +Butterfly Shrimp box +Mashed Potatoes +Cajun Fries +Red Beans & Rice +Louisiana hot sauce +kind of grimey +not-too-friendly staff T___T +plenty of parking

I eat here on average once a year. Every time I do, I get diarrhea the next day. If your order isn’t messed up somehow, it will either be room temperature, soggy, or any possible combination of the three, along with numerous other issues you can expect at a poorly run fast food place. The drive thru is slow and awkward. I could write an Amazon best selling book on how much this place stinks but Unilocal won’t sponsor me so I’ll just end my review.

This Popeyes is literally 5 minutes from both my residence and workplace, so it is very convenient. The drive-thru is efficient for the most part. I enjoy their Monday/Tuesday special, which is the two piece chicken dinner(includes drink) for only $ 5. I always get the mild chicken with an order of fries. Always crave the hot, buttery biscuits! Just make sure you check your order before leaving the drive-thru, since one time they accidentally gave me spicy chicken instead of mild(I can’t handle spicy haha), and my mouth was on fire!

This Popeye’s is easily seen driving west on Duke Street, towards the Landmark Shopping Center. The food and the service is great. Seating in the restaurant is adequate since most of the customers coming in to buy their food opt for take-out. Most of the parking, for customers deciding to come inside the establishment, is in the back of the restaurant. Be mindful of the flow of traffic using the drive-thru.

I’ve eaten here many times, as it is close to my work. Typically I ask for an extra ladle of gravy for a little chicken dipping. It’s never been an issue in the past. Today however, the manager insisted that I pay $ 2.19 for that little extra gravy. … he said it’s the price of an extra side dish. After clearly explaining that all I wanted was a little extra gravy and offered to even pay $.50 for it, I was just as clearly told it would be $ 2.19 anyway. Not a great way to treat a regular customer.

Wish I read the reviews before we went, but it’s fast food, who reviews fast food restaurants! Ordered two meals and both sides were messed up. Forgot one and swapped Cole slaw for rice. CHECKYOURORDERBEFOREYOULEAVE. not sure the chicken was spicy as requested. It’s just not worth it to go back to get it corrected. Awful, will never go back… kfc here we come!

I wish we could give negative stars because honestly this Popeyes doesn’t even deserve the one star we’re required to give to write a review. Like all the other reviews this place has THEWORST customer service! You ALWAYS have to check your order when you get it because they always forget something on your order. They NEVER give you condiments so make sure to ask for them; even the most obvious. No napkins or utensils so make sure to ask for those as well. Inspect your food thoroughly as you may find loose pieces of hair or other disgusting things in your food. And yes, they sometimes make you pull your car up and wait an extensive period to get you your order. I truly believe the only reason they are in business is because they are the only Popeyes in the Alexandria Landmark area.

I was sooooo annoyed at the management of this place. It has a randomly weird drive-thru and the guy who manages it is the absolute worse. They got my order wrong… and then had the nerve to give me cold food. After trekking all the way back to rectify the issue they told me they would bring my order out to my car. After damn near 15 minutes I had to park and go inside to find out what the hell was going on… they took soooo long that I thought maybe they had gone to Louisiana to get the chicken right. So now im pissed… the manager simply gives me my food and offers no apology, no acknowlegment, no rectification whatsoever?! I will never go back to this place… way too many other popeyes out there I can patronize.

The chicken is fresh and hot to the most part. The manager’s special deals are very good here. They always insist on seeing the coupons which is a bummer sometimes since I have to look up in the phone. They are quite liberal with the dipping sauces. This is a good place for a quick, cheap meal.

This Popeyes is the WORST! Each time I’ve gone to the drive thru, my order has been WRONG! How hard is it to put 2 breasts and 2 legs in a freakin’ box?! Additionally, the staff at this location has NO sense of urgency. I’ve been asked to pull over because they failed to tell me an item on the menu needed to be cooked. You know, some people might be in a hurry, hence the convenience of going to the drive thru. The manager today did not even care about the amount of time I had to wait for food. It was so long, I could’ve read War and Peace by the time the food was ready. By the way, the manager who was working was pretty awful. He didn’t even apologize for the wait time.

I went to the drive thru because I just didn’t feel like cooking. 3 piece combo comes with 2 sides, biscuit and drink. I like breast meat so thought, ok, get 4 piece combo — like the 3 piece, right? NO!!! Each«combo» is based on the whim of the staff, apparently. Needless to say, ordering went like. Me: «I’ll have the 4 piece combo with cole slaw and beans, and tea» Box: «Which side do you want?» Me: «I told you, cole slaw and beans» Box: «the 4 piece comes with 1 side, how about fries?» Me: «what? The 3 piece combo comes with 2 sides!?!» Box: «So you want a 3 piece combo?» Me: «No, ok, just give me 4 pieces of chicken.» Box: «So, you want to buy 4 individual pieces of chicken?» At this point, I told the guy to forget about everything. I should have remembered that similar experience 6 months earlier. The bait and switch, mislabeled menu tactics of this place drove me away — I drove off without anything. I got checking at Harris Teeter for far less! Don’t bother with this place. Too much deception.

I’m not really into fast food but I was hungry and craving biscuits. I made all selections of the drive thru menu based on the presence or absence of biscuits. They have a combo meal that doesn’t include a drink and does include biscuits, I order it, they ask me what drink I want. Why do they do this? I ask myself. Turns out there is a sale today that is even cheaper than the combo I ordered. Before proceeding I must make sure… Does it include biscuits? Yes. So I order it. I’m driving away quickly with a bag full of chicken, a Dr. Pepper, and most importantly, hot buttery biscuits. It works, fast. No line. This true story happened at like 830 pm one recent weekday night.

I’m not proud to admit this, but this drive thru is conveniently located near my work and some days I just have to have their nasty, batter-covered fries and a biscuit. That being said, I use the drive thru so I do not have to see the people who make my food. Ignorance can be bliss. Also, if someone is ordering thru the drive thru and there is going to be a significant delay with their order, let the customer know so they can make an alternate choice. If we get to the point where I have already paid you, and you then elect to tell me that there will be a delay and then you ask me to pull over into the no-man’s land of «We forgot your ass-ville», I WILL smile at you, remain at the front of the line, and then turn off my ignition until I receive the food that I have purchased. Let’s not play games, people.

Any time, any place. When I was pregnant, I would have cravings for Popeye’s once a week. This year we’ve eaten there once, but this chicken and it’s spices and the red beans and rice beat out KFCANYTIME. I haven’t been to KFC in 8 years!

One thing I love about living ‘in the south’(as I like to say), is the availability of biscuits. $ 1.99 for a chicken biscuit, and I’m perfectly happy. They are a little slow on service(they get really confused if there are a few people ordering, and how to satisfy those orders in the order they came in), but it is one of my favorite snacks. And a lover of condiments, believe me, it’s a huge thing for me to say that this sandwich doesn’t need ANYTHING. Not mayo, not mustard, not even cheese. The biscuits are fluffy and delicious, brushed with butter. The chicken tender they put in the middle has an awesome crunchy crust full of flavor.
