Poochie Playhouse

I almost always wash my pup myself — he’s only 30 lb so he fits in my sink pretty easily. But I saw this place on Groupon and it’s 5 minutes from my house, so I bit. I will definitely be back. They were so professional and courteous, and he still smells wonderful, nearly two weeks later. I ended up taking my husband to the doctor, which took longer than expected, so I called to ask if I could pay them for ½ day of doggie daycare, and they said not to even worry about it.

Have been very patient with this place even though they seem to have a new groomer every month or so. Today my dogs had among the worst haircuts of their life from groomer #4. Tried to get a hold of the manager and was told he’s not available and to try back tomorrow…

We just went to drop off our 2 dogs for tonight through Sunday AM. However when we went in the woman had no idea we were coming even though we made a reservation just 3 weeks ago. I told her our 2 dogs names and she kept repeating the same 2 different names over and over, finally she went to pull our file only to discover that our 1 dogs rabies vaccine expires today.
When we did our interview 3 weeks ago we set up the date for today and had our paperwork faxed over while we were there. No one said anything about it expiring today would be a problem.
The woman at the front did not apologize, did not even seem the least bit compassionate that our plans have completely changed now. (We did call the vet they are totally booked)
I was hoping to find a place where our dogs would be safe and have fun but if that’s how the humans are treated I can’t imagine the dogs are treated any better.
***Update the owner did call me, I assume after reading this, and invited us back for the weekend. He left me a VM and was very kind. However, we ultimately decided this was not the right place for us.

We just picked up our golden retriever from getting groomed when I noticed blood on the carpet of my house. Turns out one of the quick in his nails had been cut too short. I quickly grabbed a towel to stop the bleeding while my husband ran to the nearest pet store to get meds to stop the bleeding. So disappointed. We loved the way he was groomed and were planning on taking our bulldog for a groom too, but never again!

I love bringing my pups here! The staff are very sweet and the groomer does an excellent job! I am always pleased when I come pick up the pups and see their adorable faces :)

Every Sunday I take my dog Tyson in to Poochie Playhouse to have his nails trimmed and to get a bath. Staff and Owner are awesome and Tyson always walks out happy and looking great!

I took my little one to get groomed, she scalped him so badly that there are actually bare spots around his nose.
And he looks like he is wearing a mask on his poor little face, just chop chop.
Wow I thought my grooming skills are bad .
They may be good at boarding which I have never done but the grooming skills definitely needs extra training.

My dog LOVES this place! He goes every Saturday for play and I have boarded him once. Each time he comes home exhausted and sleeps ALL DAY! The staff is amazing! Highly recommend.

Excellent boarding and day care!!! The staff LOVES dogs, and it shows. My dog recognizes the shopping center and beelines straight to Poochie. When it is time to leave, he plops himself on the floor and refuses to go home. We love Poochie!

Poochie Playhouse is outstanding. They are so attentive to the needs of each dog, always friendly, and very helpful. I did alot of research and I would never place my dog in the care of just anyone. My dog was so nervous during his first night of being boarded, but the staff took good care of him. Poochie Playhouse has been under new ownership for at least the past 6 months, so I’d disregard any bad reviews prior to that time. I highly recommend this place. It’s great for daycare and overnight boarding. I can’t say enough good things about it.

I have been taking my dogs to Poochie Playhouse ever since they opened. I have a Shitzu and a German Shepherd which takes two different approaches to grooming. These folks are top notch. They love my dogs and are excellent groomers. I highly recommend Juan, the owner, Poochie Playhouse to the community, Dan C.

My cocker spaniel always looks beautiful after she’s been groomed at Poochie Playhouse. They are not the easiest dogs to groom because of matting, but the groomer is patient and professional and the result is always top notch.

Our dogs LOVE Poochie! We’ve been taking them there for about 5 years. The owner and the rest of the staff really care about the dogs. When I drop them off, I don’t have to worry about them. My dogs don’t need grooming, but they get baths every time they stay, and they always smell good when I pick them up. I’ve never noticed a bad smell at Poochie Playhouse.

My boys LOVE this place. I used to take them to daycare here Monday through Friday, but then I moved to DC and it’s too far. But we ALWAYS board here. It’s completely cage free. My dogs know the strip mall it’s in and go ballistic trying to get out when we’re near. When I pick them up, once after spending twenty days there, Diego one of my dogs always runs out, and then sees me, and attempts to run back to the play rooms. They mope for days after coming home. We love the staff; most of them are young with aspirations to go to vet school and things of that nature. They are friendly, reasonably priced, and clean.
