Mr Wash Car Wash

This is not only the worst car was I’ve ever received by the most unprofessional staff possible. They make no effort to actually clean the vehicle properly and make excuses to defend their lack of effort. When I complained they begrudgingly agreed to vacuum my car a second time. The manager said they can’t clean the seats any better with their vacuums. When I pointed out all the crumbs still on the seat he went over them again and what do you know the crumbs were gone. I pointed out the wheels on the car were still filthy and we paid $ 30 for the wash. They sent the car through the wash a second time but refused to clean the wheels properly even though I paid for it. Then, they refused to dry off the outside of the car because they said since they agreed to send it through the wash again they weren’t going to dry it off. The managers are complete jerks, the workers are incompetent and the prices are crazy. They should be shut down.

This place changed management and it made a huge difference. The customer service is outstanding. I gave it a four because my car isn’t always the cleanest but I think it’s because they’re so busy. I have a monthly pass, so I wash my car very weekend and that makes a huge difference.

5 stars for the employees who vacuum and wipe down the interior. They work so hard.

$ 25??? seriously? They used to be $ 18 and then they went up and now $ 25.
If they gave their hard working employees a raise, then I am good with that. If it lines their pockets, then I am not pleased. Even restaurants don’t increase their cost that much.
I have a company car and they actually pay for our car washes; I think I’ll find a high school fund raiser from here on so that I know my money is going to a good cause.
Really…I still can’t believe it: $ 25.

If you live near the District (Ie Rosslyn/​Pentagon City/​Crystal City/​Potomac Yards), then you probably noticed that there are pretty much no options for car washes. Even worse, all the ones around are going to set you back $ 20 to $ 35 per wash.
Considering the options, I’ve decided that Mr. Wash is the best option. I think that Yates Car Wash does a little better job overall, but a wash there is around $ 25/​wash… I end up using my unlimited pass maybe 3 to 4 times… per week (I also live about 1 mile away, which means it really isn’t out of my way). This location has a $ 50/​month unlimited car wash/​vac service you can sign up for. They don’t do a perfect job, but I personally found it to be one of the quicker and better options in the area. I will say that they have gotten better compared to my first visit around 1 year ago. The windows aren’t streaky on the inside and they do a relatively good job. I usually just go back to my parking garage and spend 5 or so minutes finishing off the rims and putting on some tire shine.
Unless you are willing to drive out to the suburbs or pay for a detailing service, I think getting an unlimited pass here is your best bet for a «pretty clean» car, although it obviously won’t be «showroom ready»
*Note: If this was in any other area I lived in before where there is real competition, it would not be a 4 star rating (maybe 2 or 2.5 at best), but given the options in this area, I think it deserves a 4 star.

While I have found the workers to be friendly, this place does a terrible job cleaning my car. There is no attention to detail, they basically just rinse your car and do an average job drying it off. They do a pretty good job vacuuming the interior. I can’t believe I wasted $ 30 to rinse my car.

Worst crash wash ever. They rip off people’s money. They so bad in customer service. They don’t care for customers. Bad managment.
I paid 35 $ which is the maximum I thought they were gonna take care of the car. They didn’t even do the minimum. My cat looked almost the same as I brought it.

If I could give negative stars. I would give this place –100. BUYER BEWARE. I am not racist however there are horrible people there that are ex-​cons. Management has a criminal attitude and allow their convict criminal employees to harass and threaten paying customers. You are not safe at these locations. They need a constant police presence which should give you a clue. Additionally, they are very lazy and never want to perform the services you pay for. I don’t have time to wash my vehicle but after this horrible experience I’ll just wash my car myself. Also Flagship is an option if you want a reputable car wash. Avoid these people at all cost. Trust me you will be sorry and disappointed.

In 2014, the price for this place was 16.00 for a basic wash… one in which they didn’t do the best job in vacuuming the car and not emptying the litter bad without asking.
In 2015, the price for this place was 18.00 for a basic wash… one in which they didn’t do the best job in vacuuming the car and not emptying the litter bad without asking.
Now, in 2016, the price for a basic wash is a whopping 25.00. They are even worse about the vacuuming, still have to ask to have the litter bag emptied, and they have gotten bad about drying off the car well. It is simply not worth $ 25.00. But, they know that there are few options around here. So, they got you bent over a barrel.
I’m not going there anymore for the expense versus the quality received. I will time my car washes when I am out in Fairfax. I suggest you do the same.

Horrible carwash place. The staff were in a rush to get things done. Not really caring for how clean the car should be. They just vacuum my car in a rush still leaving alot of traces of hair and dust. Payed $ 35 for wax and clean included also but they left alot of dirt and dust sticking on the wheel rims and the door.

This place is a tad expensive but it was really easy and convenient. I was probably in and out in 10 minutes or less and there were other cars there too. The staff is extremely friendly; I really liked them. Car is looking good, too! I used a coupon for $ 2 off I found on their website for signing up for their emails.

This used to be an OK place to get your car washed, if it really needed it. Or if you didn’t have time to get over to the better (though not great) Mr. Wash on Glebe Road in Arlington. But now, Mr. Wash himself would need to show up at my door and pay me to use this branch again. First, the good — its location, and the guys who do the vacuuming do an acceptable job. That’s it for the good. Now the bad — the people who «clean» the interior and wipe down the exterior after the wash do a lousy job. They are either so lazy or so apathetic that they can’t even reach down for the glass cleaner that each of them has hanging from their belt loop. And they wipe down the exterior of your car first, and then use the same towels to clean the inside of your windows.
Now for the ugly — in six months’ time, this joint has jacked up the price of a «regular» wash from $ 14 to $ 25. The regular wash (vacuum, wash, windows — no waxes or treatments), used to be around $ 11. It eventually increased to $ 14 and stayed that way for a while. Then, late last year, it jumped to $ 18. When I returned yesterday, there were no prices posted anywhere. The vacuum guys essentially took my car from me and started pulling it around before one of the attendants, both of whom were just standing there, finally spoke to me. When he told me that the regular wash was now $ 25, I told him that was absurd. He just shrugged and said that the Mr. Wash in Arlington was still charging $ 18. Good to know dude in the yellow shirt! If only you posted your prices and told me that before your vacuum squad had already absconded with my car! The handful of other customers were also complaining about the latest price hike and the service, and every employee’s reaction was a bored shrug — I’m guessing they hear it a lot.

Be aware of the online coupon offer. You will not find out until you reach the checkout that they won’t accept the mobile version. When you click redeem coupon when you check out, it then tells you it’s not available and all of a sudden the 14.99 offer costs you 30.00. Last time I’ll get caught in this misleading deal.

I was charged $ 25.00 for a regular car wash with no upgrades. I’m not sure if they screwed me over or if that’s their regular price. And to make matters worse, they didn’t even do a good job on my car. I’ll be looking for a new place which is a bummer because I’ve been coming here for 15 years and it’s close to my house.

I have a monthly pass. There really are no car wash options around here. But, at least if I go twice a week, I get more than my money’s worth.
Please don’t expect a great job. I was so disappointed the first time. Now my car is clean because I go so often! LOL But, I’m single so it’s not like I’m going to trash my gorgeous car. No kids either. Just be prepared for a shock when your car is done.

The wash is fast, the drying part where 5 people come out to dry off your car was fast too. Tip in the locker box located in the front. They will try to sell you a monthly option for unlimited washes for 55 a month.
Someone got dirt/​grease on one of my seats. It looks like smudge from dirty bottle or maybe the vacuum hose. This always seems to happen at these places. When I went to mr. Kleen in Alexandria the dryer guy was on the phone and leaked window cleaner on the seats. I have a freaking brand new car and these guys are always the same, some care and some totally dont. I ran errands and didn’t notice until much later. I doubt they would have done anything.

Meh. They’re okay if all you need is a quick exterior wash. I paid for the $ 18.00 service and refused the vacuum service even though it is included with the price. I didn’t need it though, as I did my own vacuuming prior to taking it to this car wash. My vehicle went through the wash cycle and still came out dirty on the roof. I guess the roof isn’t covered unless you pay the $ 24.00 rate. I had little expectations coming here and left with that same impression.
The receptionist seemed as though she was talking to a friend on the phone when I went to the register to pay. She just kept talking and didn’t even bother looking up except to ask for my ticket. She did the same to another customer who was ahead of me. Not very polite.
I’d only return if my vehicle absolutely needed a wash (like today) and I’m in a rush.
Sucks there aren’t many options around here that’s «Do it Yourself.»

I’m wish I could give this place minus 3 stars. I too my wife’s car there to surprise her with deep cleaning, paid 25 dollars. Had to pay extra for them to apply tire shine.
I was immediately turned off by one of the staff members giving me his card for handy man services while on duty. The wash took almost 35 mins. Mind you, there were only 2 cars ahead of mine. The machine stopped twice for 4 – 6 mins each time; and I noticed the wheel cleaning nozzle was mis-​calibrated and sprayed the side panel in the front and totally missed the rear tire.
Then, they failed to dry the car off properly. Secondly, as they beckoned that the car was ready, I explained to the guy that I paid extra for the tire shine. The guy challenged me and asked for my receipt. Unfortunately, I threw my receipt in the trash since I’ve never been asked for it before with my own car. I was not about to go fish the crumpled receipt out of a trash bin full of… Yeah! Receipts!
After a 5 minute wait for him to get the tire shine expert over, I got in the car. The dash was half wiped and still dusty. The carpets were not adequately vacuumed and I could not find the keys to the car. Meanwhile my car was blocking countless other patrons whose cars were done and they were queued to leave.
Perturbed, I yelled over to the group of staffers who were spectating as others were drying off cars for the keys. As they all rifled their pockets, a random one of them coughed up my keys, apologetically.
I quickly got out of the way of the other drivers and circled back to the entrance to complain about the poor service. The manager, Mr. Roy was nonchalant and directed me to rejoin the long line and send the car through again, after the horrific first pass. I explained that I waited patiently as they flubbed their first attempt and have no time to go through that ordeal again. Never did he offer to refund my money nor provide a coupon for a complimentary wash. I’d never patronise this establishment again.

Okay, so let’s be honest there’s no real options in this area. Why read the reviews and get yourself worked up before you even arrive?
I have learned the hard way if you live in Arlington or Alexandria you’re SOL as far as good car washes.
However for a superb hand wash head to the Pentagon City Mall for a real interior clean. They’re name is EcoWash and I highly recommend them (You leave your car with them while you shop or sit and wait– yes you have to pay the garage fee but they’re done within 30 min)
But if you’re like most of us in the area simple and convenient wins, despite the anger we feel afterwards.
Don’t be fooled when you pull in, you’ll see plenty of very nice vehicles waiting for a wash and you’ll think «oh it must be okay», no sir.
You’ll wait a long time if there’s more than 6 cars in line. They have two lines but it all leads to two vacuum areas and one washer bay. Every customer must exit the car.
First their vacuuming/​wiping down, they’ll ask you to exit your car or more like open your door and motion to get a move on. They’ll ask which wash and send you on your way. Personally I prefer the washes where I sit in the car for the exterior wash and if and only if I chose an interior wash then I get out while the car goes into the interior cleaning bay. But here– like many people noted– this doesn’t even have a place to clean your interior. If they didn’t do it at the beginning believe me they’re not doing if at the end with your windows and tires.
if you care enough to get your car cleaned you will care enough to note the smudges left on door jams, cup holders not even touched, so don’t even think to look between the seats etc. it really is dismal. But to be fair this is the crappiest car wash. They have the vacuums that you would purchase to do your own car cleaning. It is in no way a professional setup. There’s no industrial sized equipment to really blow out your dash and make it look superb or to handle leather properly (forget about it if you have Alcantara /​suede interior like me they’ll ruin it).
The exterior is somehow lackluster too. Whatever they use or don’t use in their solutions really shows. Your car has been wet and then dried but is is really sparkling clean? No.
It’s hit or miss as to who you will get to do your tires and wheels. More often than not I don’t even look bc I know they didn’t get into my wheels to really clean them but whatever– by this point I’m asking myself why I even settled for this place again.
Just wait till you’re in the burbs with a decent car wash around (I recommend a flagship in Herndon) or go to Pentagon City mall.

Expensive but our car looks pretty good when it is done. A little surprised by reviews that say the inside was not cleaned. We have never had an issue with that.
We have tried other car washes in the area that cost less but end up back at this location because they do a good job.

So once again, Old Man Winter had blasted my beloved Roadbeast with salt, grime, and chemicals. My 1989 Crown Vic LX is simply a treasure, and really deserves quality care, so I was happy to find that someone had given me a coupon for a free car wash at Mr. Wash.
Eager to wash away a blanket of road salt from my car and see my its original paint again, I rolled my Detroit chariot down to Mr.Wash. As soon as I arrived, I was immediately frustrated, for they had blocked off the entrance, forcing me to drive around the block several times until they finally removed the barricades. Now, I was certain that they were open, because I could see other cars lining up to go through the wash, but for some reason they had decided to throw up roadblocks to business.
The best thing that I can say about Mr. Wash was that it was quick. I redeemed my coupon at the cashier’s desk and proceeded to pick up my baby in the drying area. Now, I have tried many a car wash in the area, and this was the first time that attendant’s towels were soaking wet… And of course, I could still see some residual salt stains on my car’s hood. so I took the driest shammy I could find and applied some much need elbow grease to the area myself. Wham! Salt stain gone, and the Roadbeast was ready to roll in style again.
Mr. Wash Car Wash would have ranked a few more stars in my book, but buffing my own car and the shoddy setup all around was really disappointing. For my money, there are several Car Washes in the metro area that do a better job. I would only return here again if I were in the area and needed a quick wash.
