History

Established in 1974.

Kyriacos Kolas or better known as «Charlie» came to the USA back in 1969 from Cyprus. He started working as a painter in his family’s painting business. After doing this for a few years, he decided to start his own small business in 1974 serving the Alexandria, VA and DC areas. His brother, Andreas «Andy» Kolas decided to join in 1995, followed by his daughter, Athina, and son, Stephen, in 1999. His younger daughter, Paula, joined the team in 2002. Daughter-​in-​law, Galina, was the last to join in 2005, thus making this a family owned and successfully operating business it is today.

Manager

Stephen came on board with Kolas Contracting, Inc. in 2002. Coming into the family business had its challenges initially, taking the advice and years of experience from his father, Charlie, while trying to introduce new ideas and to fine tune an already well running operation. Today he is head of sales and business development and is project manager for a large volume of jobs.
