Juniper Eco Salon

I have lived in the area for 2 ½ years now and I have been to at least 6 different salons trying to find someone to highlight my hair. The last place I went to used such harsh chemicals and my hair was so badly damaged that I couldn’t even comb through it.
I recently found Kathy at Juniper Eco Salon and I was so excited to find a place that used natural organic products with no harsh chemicals. Kathy and her assistant, Matilda, were so warm and inviting, I felt like I was getting my hair done at someone’s home. They offered drinks and because I was there a little longer, Kathy even shared her granola with me, which was so sweet.
The best part was that none of the color products smelled badly because they don’t have all of the harsh chemicals that normal hair color has. You no longer have to breathe in those harsh fumes and your head does not feel like it had chemicals sitting on it.
Because my hair was so damaged, Kathy suggested that I do a deep conditioning treatment which helped immensely! My hair is 100% better and I have received so many compliments about the cut and color. The color truly turned out amazing, exactly what I wanted.
The prices are very comparable to all of the other salons in the area as well.

Kathy is awesome, I was beyond thrilled with my perfect strawberry blonde color and she actually read my mind when she suggested waiting for another visit to do any significant trimming. She clearly understands what works when it comes to both color and length, and is a really open, fair, knowledgeable, and relaxing stylist. Her assistant Matilda is so sweet too! I’m so happy to have found a salon that cares about the environment and charges competitive prices for excellent service =)

Juniper Eco Salon rocks! Kathy uses organic products– I have psoriasis in my scalp so skipping the harsh chemicals is better for my hair & skin. Kathy’s a seasoned pro — I knew of her years before I started going to her b/​c she’s got a great reputation. She’s a talented hairdresser and has a comfortable salon. And she’ll do what it takes to help accommodate your schedule. I highly recommend Kathy Bell and Juniper Eco Salon.

I have super sensitive skin and was looking for a stylist that could help me when it came to coloring my hair. I am so glad that I found Kathy Bell! She uses great, eco-​friendly products and has worked with me so that my skin doesn’t break out nor does it get red or itchy. The way she schedules her clients is a dream. No long waiting periods and a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The products she has recommended for my home use have been wonderful. Her assistant, Matilda, gives the best shampoo and scalp massage too.

Kathy Bell has been my hair stylist for many, many years. Originally I went to her because of her reputation for working with fine hair. She also restored my highlights that had been over-​processed by a previous stylist that resulted in breakage. Not only is Kathy experienced as a hair designer, she is a wonderful person and a pleasure to be with while having my hair done. She appreciates her clients, will go the extra mile to take care of you, and charges a fair price. I highly recommend Kathy to anyone looking for a stylist, or if you are looking to buy organic hair products.

I live in DC and have been going to Kathy for 6 years — she’s without a doubt the best! Not only does she do an excellent job on my highlights, cut, and style every time, but it’s wonderful to be able to walk in sit in the chair and leave the rest to Kathy. I really appreciate that she uses organic and eco friendly products which leave my hair healthy and the straightening product is amazing! The salon is also very relaxing especially after a long week at work and with a scalp massage to boot. What’s not to love!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Juniper Eco Hair Salon! Love their view of using organic and eco friendly hair products especially the scalp massage with the essential oils before the hair cut. Kathy has a great eye for style and color. Alexandria is a little bit of a drive for me but well worth it!
