Kristin is a people person, plain and simple. Originally from Tennessee, she thrives on meeting new people and catching up with old friends. Nothing, though, makes her happier than to ensure her clients are 100% satisfied, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While this commitment has led Kristin to work many a late night, she delights in her work and is fast to find the bright side of any challenge she encounters. If she does take a night off, you’ll often find her strapping on her dancing shoes to enjoy an evening of Carolina Shag or West Coast Swing!

Kristin has lived in Northern Virginia for 25 years and, besides its dance scene, relishes all of the wonderful museums, restaurants, and beautiful nature that the area has to offer. As a Realtor since 1999, she’s enjoyed exploring the hidden gems of each individual neighborhood as the area has grown. She is an expert in Northern Virginia real estate, especially in Old Town and along the 395 corridor.

My wife and I are both retired, and we live in New York. We have been considering a move to an area like Alexandria VA, but we knew nothing at all about it. One phone call to Kristin was all it took to really get rolling. We spent 2 days in Alexandria, and Kristin and her daughter/​associate Elizabeth spent hours showing us the city, and taking us to see listings that fit our needs exactly. Kristin and her colleague Elizabeth are awesome. We are quite demanding and picky buyers but they are always very diligent and try their best to fulfill our touring requests even if it was a snowy cold winter night. Kristin has a lot of experience and knows the marker and process very well. My fiancé and I went to grad school in finance and are very impressed by Kristin’s perspective on a house’s investment value and all the maths behind it.

This group is absolutely fantastic! Elizabeth helped me find the most perfect place for me and I’m forever grateful! It was my first home buying experience and I couldn’t haven’t asked for better people to hold my hand throughout; Elizabeth as my realtor, and Ann their office manager who is beyond on top of her game. Always willing to answer any questions, any time of the day, kept me in the loop at all points, and were wonderful to deal with! First time home buyer? 300 miles away from family? Unfamiliar with the area? Call Kristin Stone! My wife and I called Kristin after renting for about 8 months in Washington D.C. We knew we wanted to buy, but that is about where our list of certainties ended. We wanted a house with a fenced in yard in the suburbs, or maybe we would prefer our own part of the city– a condo right next to a metro station. For weeks we had been going back and forth on every decision we would have to make. When we sat down with Kristin for the first time we hadn’t become any more sure of ourselves, but Kristin was able to listen to everything we said and make sense of it all somehow. She also made a point to get to know us as people to help guide us through which spaces would work best for us. As we searched for homes she helped us to imagine life in each place and took queues from our reactions. I would suggest Kristin to anyone buying a home, but specifically to those who are feeling unsure about buying in an unfamiliar area without trusted family and friends to guide them throughout the process. She is very knowledgeable about all aspects of her business, but above all she cares.

Kristin was recommended to me by a fellow military member and to say that she and her daughter Elizabeth go above and beyond for their clients would be an understatement. I was unfamiliar with the DC area, but after a short conversation with Kristin she found the perfect area for me — one that I had not even heard of before and thus would not have found on my own. Because I was planning on buying in the near future, she negotiated a nine month (instead of one year) lease and a lower rent so that I could save money for my later purchase. I loved the neighborhood so much that I decided to buy there. The first place Kristin showed me was perfect. There was another bidder and Kristin never pushed me to go over my pre-​set budget. She was very honest about how high I should be willing to go and I got the place with only a minor increase. I only had a month left on my rental lease and Kristin was an absolute champ about keeping everyone moving forward so that I could move before my lease ran out. We closed within three weeks. Not only did Kristin and Elizabeth find the perfect home for me, they helped me meet people and even find a local theater company. I really can’t say enough good things about these two!

My husband and I worked with Kristin and Elizabeth to buy our first home! We settled on the Alexandria area, and Kristin and Elizabeth showed us our new home on our second trip out. We knew very little about the process and Kristin literally guided us through out the whole thing — from who to use as a lender, to how far away from the metro stops each home was. She’s honest about the homes, pointing out how weird some layouts are or possible issues that you may not notice. Our front runner home changed as soon as we heard her opinion (she pointed out quite astutely that it’s weird to have a fridge in a dining room space).
Kristin was the most helpful the day or two before closing when we realized that none of the repairs promised by the seller had been completed. Kristin and Elizabeth took care of it all. We didn’t need to talk to sellers or realtors ourselves; they zealously represented our best interests and got us closed as planned with repairs paid for by the seller. I have already recommended Kristin to multiple people and I will continue to do so as my friends and coworkers buy their first homes! She and Elizabeth will also be invited over for some wine as soon as we get this new place filled with furniture!
Dealing with skeevy realtors and lenders is a pain in the butt. Kristin is a breath of fresh air in this industry.

I was looking for a real estate agent to rent out a townhouse. I spoke to a few other agents but none of them seem to be as knowledgeable of the Alexandria area as Kristin and they did not seem to be as interested in dealing with a rental property. I was impressed that Kristin immediately knew the name of the townhouse community after I mentioned the cross street for the townhouse. She also gave me very helpful information of what to expect from the rental process and gave me some useful advice on what to put on the rental application. During the process of searching for a tenant, Kristin was quick in giving me information about potential tenants and diligently communicating with me through text/​e-​mails late into the night and even on weekends. She was able to help find a tenant for my townhouse within a month even in the middle of winter. I would definitely use her again.

Kristin Stone got the listing for selling our home and in just under 24 hours we had 3 contracts, the first of which, we accepted. Due to an international relocation, we had to sell and settle in about 30 days. Pretty much a mission impossible situation, but Kristin pulled it off. She knows her market area and knows how to price a home to sell. She’s organized and methodical in her approach. Kristin really does make you feel like you are her only client. Communicating with her? Open lines. Real estate waters can be treacherous. Kristin’s navigation skills are unparalleled. We were limited on days in which we could house hunt (we were moving from out of town) and Kristin was kind enough to spend all three days that we were in town to show us homes. She then very effectively communicated with us as we traveled across the country and tried to complete all of the paperwork required so that we could close on the house upon our return to the DC area. I have known Kristin and everyone else on the Home Happy Group for years. She is someone I consider like a mother/​confidant. I met Kristin in 2006 when I had a property that needed to be rented. I called her office and she was so pleasant and so sincere. I had called several Real Estate Agents that day as well as Management Companies but something about Kristin made me feel safe. This was my first home buying experience and being new to the real estate market and buying a home, it was a great experience. From day one, Kristin made it feel like a very easy process and helped me learn the whole way through. One thing that was always taken into consideration was what I wanted in the purchase and what I could afford. She would show me properties any day of the week at any time that it could be arranged and this really helped me since my military schedule is not very predictable. We looked at numerous houses and she always would give me and my girlfriend very professional advice and helped us find sometime that fit our budget and our wants. It is a tough market out there and having a very dedicated, professional and hard working realtor made my first home buying experience very good.
