Our team is led by our primary esthetician and owner, Tammy. Tammy has over 15 years of waxing and beauty salon experience. Tammy believes in making all her clients, men and women alike, feel confident and comfortable about themselves. She also believes that you can have a great service at a reasonable price. From this passion, Hollywood Waxing Studio was born.

Just had my third visit and have seen Tammy twice and Annie once. Both are extremely professional and at ease, which helps make everything so much more bearable. I was surprised to hear that HWS has 10% male customers, but as one of few salons that will serve men, it makes sense. I was relatively new to waxing, but I am now a convert. Gents who are interested in being completely smooth, even from «stem to stern», should definitely give it a try. I cannot say that it is completely painless, but the staff certainly know how to take the edge off. Worth a visit.

Tammy was great! She was very professional and did my waxing very efficiently. Her studio was very clean and comfortable. I was in very little pain for the Brazilian wax, one of the best waxing experiences I have ever had. Will definitely be going back for more waxes.

I tried Hollywood Waxing Studio for the first time today (after reading the Unilocal reviews and finding a livingsocial deal for first time clients) and I already booked my next appointment! Tammy is truly amazing (just like the reviews said!) I’m always a bit nervous when it comes to waxing but she really put me at ease! From her warm and inviting personality to the clean atmosphere and soothing music. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought! Definitely recommend HWS! In addition, I like the ease of booking online!

I must say that Mara is AMAZING! If it’s possible to make getting a Brazilian enjoyable, she did just that! This is only the third one I’ve ever had in my life because my first two experiences were just horrible but I can promise I’ll be going to her from here on out.

Having had so many horrifying experiences in the past, I was extremely nervous about trying out a new place. I am a highly pain intolerant individual so believe me when I say, this place is nothing short of phenomenal. My first experience at Hollywood Waxing Studio was early this year with Tammy. Tammy is so sweet and very comforting throughout the process and is super quick. Wave that anxiety and those agonizingly long waxing sessions goodbye. I will not be going anywhere else.

Wow, this place is really «as good as they come,» when it comes to waxing… can I say they have waxing down to a science? They do! And they are pocket friendly as well.
First, the salon is located in a small studio office building off of Franconia Rd, right next to an Eye Doctor office. They are on the 2nd floor. As you enter, you notice the small details: beautiful interior, water offered, magazine assortment, and an I-​Pod playing music. Very relaxing for pre-​wax nerves. :O
I had Tammy for my wax. She was excellent, efficient and fun to talk to… made my waxing experience pleasant… for real. My eyebrows and wax turned out great. She used a different strip of wax paper for each wax, and small quick tugs.
Helpful to know: Bring cash for tips, book appointments on-​line and arrive early, inform staff of any allergies/​products that may make your skin more sensitive. If you want a full leg wax/​brazilian/​bikini, etc. — make sure your hair is longer than ¼ in. (takes 3 weeks to grow out, they say), which is a pain to grow out… esp in summer… but definitely worth it.
Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.

Tammy is the first and only person I’ve had do a Brazilian Wax on me. I’ve been going here now about 6 months and am very satisfied. The first time I came to visit, Id booked a full 1st time Brazilian and an eyebrow wax. I was late, and learned very quickly that Tammy is exceptionally on time with her clients. She scolded me a little for that, so, unfortunately, I was not able to do the eyebrow wax as she had an appointment right after me.
However, I feel so comfortable when I visit Tammy. Shes quick, fun, and nice. She’s now introduced me to Mara, and another new woman she’s recently trained. They are trained to be as gentle as she is. Both Mara and the new girl stayed back with me to make sure they got every piece of hair that was on me. I feel clean and fresh when I leave. The ambience of the waiting room, bathroom, and treatment room is warm and welcoming with chocolates, baby wipes, and always smells good. I love how I can book appointments online and don’t have to call for an appointment.
The only reason for a 4 is that sometimes I have an allergic reaction to the wax… but that isn’t Tammy’s fault. She was very concerned when I told her that and shes used other options since. She is very sanitary. No double dipping! Also, if I still see hair on me, she will patiently come remove it once I’ve pointed it out. Mara and the other new girl were especially great at that. The only other reason for a 4 is because I have nothing to compare it to. But I’ve heard that other places are more painful and less comfortable in general.
I will keep going. Definitely great for someone who is new to waxes!

This place is amazing! After seeing how many positive reviews they have on Unilocal I knew I had to try them out. Most of the reviews were for Tammy. I couldn’t book with her so I chose Mara. I was sort of bummed out but guess what?
When I got there I got both of them!
Tammy and Mara are extremely friendly and they work well together. There was no awkward tension between them which made me feel at ease.
I was really nervous but their friendliness and professionalism made me forget about everything.
I will definitely recommend this place to all my lady friends and will be returning myself.

I’ve had my share of bad brazilian waxes, but Tammy and her team are by far the BEST experience I’ve had in NOVA. Tammy and her trainee were very welcoming from the moment I walked in the door and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire wax.
I definitely recommend Hollywood Waxing Studio for a brazilian wax, but they are pricier than what I’m used to. But again, you get what you pay for. Completely worth it!
