Very friendly staff. Free shuttle to Metro and Old Town make the location very convenient. Located right off the highway so the view is not great and rooms in the front of the building get traffic noise. But the rooms are large, clean and we’ll kept. OUR Room Had a microwave and fridge.

5 star for how nice the staff is. And how clean the room is. –3 Stars for not being prepared for school tours and allowing the students to overwhelm the common areas, and for not preparing breakfast for them in a separate conference/​other room. Seriously. I love the middleschoolers on tour to the City. But be prepared.
Also — THIS IS NOT OLD TOWN. Although they can shuttle you almost anywhere you want… you cant walk anywhere. Its not convenient to Old Town, if you are familiar with the city. You WILL need a car if you have business to do. It’s closer to Ft Belvoir (and you need a car to get there anyway), so it puts you in between Belvoir and Old Town. Really nice staff. REALLY CLEAN.
Don’t forget to ask if there are school tours when you book. The kids are always great, but it can get crazy in the morning because they can take up so much space — it would be so much easier if the hotel set aside a conference room/​area for the students — for them and the business guests.

Me and the boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights, 1 day. We got a room with a King bed. There was a mini fridge and a microwave. We had a pleasant time. We didn’t take advantage of things like the fitness center or laundry. This is a place where you get a decent quality for a good price.
Pros: continental breakfast, attentive and friendly maid service, shuttle to the metro, and hospitable front desk staff
Cons: water doesn’t get hot– just warm, the blinds in the room don’t close, the location is in a tricky spot, and the hallway by our door smelled of heavy marijuana
Overall, I would stay here again. It was cheaper with a good location that we could drive to Pentagon Station or the Harbor easily. We did take the shuttle to the metro and it was quick and easy. Our TV didn’t work on the first day and they quickly replaced it. The extra money we saved with choosing this hotel was able to cover a small shopping trip.

I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed it. Wonderful staff. Thank you for the warm greetings and hospitality. Will lodge here again.

I’m satisfied with my experience at this hotel. The location was very close to Old Town. They had a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up there. The recommendations from the hotel were good. The hotel itself was newish. My room was fine, though an odd smell. Still, the smell wasn’t strong or terrible. They have complimentary breakfast. The staff are incredibly helpful. Parking is free. A solid choice to stay when in the area.

Worst Hampton Inn ever, and my ex used to work for the coorporation-​so we stayed in a good number of Hamptons. Not worth the extra $ 40 I paid over another one slightly further out. Hard bed, icky bathroom that felt like I was taking a shower in my college bathroom (small shower, jacked curtain that would not stay pulled to the edges, which resulted in PUDDLES all over the floor, short shower spout, to thus I had to wrestle around the shower bar and the soap dish to get near it while watching the water pool up. Peeling ceiling paint.). A mile from «Old Town» is a bit of a stretch. Don’t even think about walking! Silly me, not checking the map… Stained carpet, worn promotional materials. Staff was friendly though.

Stayed here with my family of 7 of which included a baby. We where put at the end of the building which is ok, but the wifi doesn’t catch. As a person who needs it, it’s very annoying. Requested laundry service didn’t get done. Room didn’t cleaned daily, trash was not emptied, bed was made but pillows where on the floor??? The one washer and dryer didn’t work. There was trash along the hallways that was not picked up for a while and we had a three night stay. There seems to things little this wrong every time I stay at a Hampton Inn. Going to comment on our nyc hampton inn stay…

I came to National Harbor for an industry training — this place according to Google Maps is 5 minutes away from my training address. BUT it takes 15 – 20 minutes to get a cab, and sometimes the cab never shows up. So keep that in mind; this is not the type of location or hotel where there will be cabs ready to go in the front.
The hotel itself was okay — it’s got free parking, things were worn and older-​feeling. The elevator is very slow, but the rooms are pretty nice. The beds are comfortable and have plenty of pillows. The bathroom is nice with some good Neutrogena products. The TV was slow but had a good variety of channels including HBO, NatGeo, Discovery, etc. The doors are a bit thin and rattly, which became very clear to me as I was staying mid-​week and so were a bunch of other middle schoolers going on an out of town field trip.
I didn’t take advantage of their breakfast, but it looks really good — they had sausages, and eggs, waffles, cereals, juices, coffees. The value isn’t fantastic which is why it only gets 3 stars considering the age of the hotel and its location, which is a little inconvenient. The staff are friendly though and seem to be excited about making peoples’ stays better.

I stayed here last weekend with my husband and two daughters. We were part of a larger group and were supposed to have a block of rooms together. I’m not sure whether it was the fault of the hotel or the booking agent, but our entire group was spread throughout the entire hotel — very disappointing.
For a decent sized hotel with seven floors, there were only three elevators, two of which were very, very small. Fortunately, at the time of check in, we were able to use one of the elevators to get to our floor. Check out on the other hand proved rather difficult. We checked in early Friday afternoon and by early Saturday the hotel only had one working elevator. Checking out Sunday meant taking all of our luggage down four flights of stairs. I attempted to look for a baggage cart and was told that «none would be available as they were very busy.» Turns out I didn’t need it any way because getting in the elevator was impossible and I obviously couldn’t send the cart down the stairs.
This hotel gets one star for their nice housekeeping staff (the front desk staff could learn a thing or two from them on how to be warm and welcoming), a star for the free breakfast and a star for not finding any bedbugs in our room. The hotel is clean but definitely needs updating and working elevators. Our bathroom had stains on the ceiling from what looked like a bad leak and the cable wasn’t working on our tv.
Overall I feel we paid too much for our stay BUT there are way worse hotels.

Local here. First off, this is 3 minutes south of Old Town in a commercial strip of hotels and car dealers, and is not considered Old Town. Kind of a «limbo» area of Alexandria. But a quick $ 12 cab ride to King Street, and a few minutes from Metro. If you’re not from this area, I wouldn’t recommend trying to walk to Metro from this location. Route 1 is dangerous for walking pedestrians, particularly from this location. Middle of the line crime area. For corporate restaurants or for some flavor, you’ll need to head further south near Beacon Mall, or north to Old Town. Apart from pizza chains, bad fast food, and failing Asian Bistro’s, there’s nothing in this location, or in walking distance. My stay was nice, clean rooms, pleasant staff. Little pricey though.

I can’t say enough about how I regret staying here. I’d give them a –5 if i could.
First of all– it is VERY tricky getting here from Rt 1 and I’m from the area. It is very close to old town, but the traffic on a Friday and sat night make it very difficult to get to the hotel.
Elevator is about 40 years old, slow, and unpredictable.
Before I booked I read they had bugs, but I thought you know what I’m sure it was nothing, a one time thing… nope. We spotted more than 20 bugs.
Walked in– 4 beetles scrawling all over the curtains. Black beetles on white curtain is very obvious! So my mom killed them all, and then I tried to forgot it happened. Until I found one crawling by my bed on the floor. Ick
So then we came back to our room Sat and there were 10 on the window area, mind you these windows do not open.
So we called front desk to change rooms, and they cut me off and said they were sending up maintenance.
Now the guy who came to spray was very nice, however whatever they sprayed in that room almost killed me. Did I mention the windows don’t open? So no ventilation, terrible headaches the rest of the night and I felt sick.
More bugs on Sunday and Monday morning when I left.
Now when I went to front desk to check out– I told them they should not be allowed to rent out the room until a professional came and de bugged it.
She told me they couldn’t do anything to fix my stay (aka discount) because I booked through
which point i lost my mind, whats the point of offering the service then? She said the GM would call me, except no one ever called me. Great customer service.
At the end of the day–
took care of me and fixed the issue. But don’t be confused there are still BUGS HERE.

I’ve come to learn that all Hampton Inn properties are not created equal… This one happens to be one of the better ones. It’s convenient to the airport, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff is always helpful. It’s close to Old Town which is a fun area to hang out.
You’ll be happy with this hotel…

I don’t normally review chain hotels, but I stayed here for 4 night for work and had a positive experience. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. They sell beer, wine and snacks in the lobby, which rules on lazy nights. You can also get food delivery to your room from local places. The free 24 shuttle is a dream. I have a broken leg and needed to get to downtown DC. Über seemed silly since there is a metro station down the street. Not only will they drop you off, they pick up up too, free! My room was very clean and taken care of. The wifi is free the first day, paid after wards. The breakfast (also free) was fine. Standard stuff, fruit, cereal, eggs, waffles. If you are staying in this area this hotel should do just fine.

At first glance, this a great hotel. Friendly staff, well lit, nicely set up rooms and «clean». These rooms may be tidy; but they have a SPIDER INFESTATION. I stayed in 2 rooms on 2 seperate weeks and both times I had spider issues. The second time, it was so bad that I had to switch rooms!
That aside, breakfast is decent, but don’t expect variety.

This is a hard one to rate. I’ve come to have a high expectation of the Hampton Inn brand, and this Hampton just didn’t seem to be on its game when I visited. We stayed as part of a wedding block, so we had a great rate on the room. We checked in on a Friday and put our things in our room, settled in for an hour or so, and then took the free shuttle the hotel offered to Old Town Alexandria for dinner and exploration. The shuttle was a great service. (It also takes you — for free — to the closest metro stop and the airport.) It picked us up and brought us back to the hotel.
However, upon getting to our room, our key wasn’t working. We told the front desk, they gave us a new one, and we tried again. Still didn’t work, so we went down a second time. The manager was very polite and very professional. She came up to our room and gave it a try herself. She had another machine that she wanted to try, and literally ran to go get it and bring it back. The machine didn’t work. She runs to get another one and comes back and is on the phone with someone to help. By this time it’s 11:30 p.m. and we’re just hanging out in the hallway.
Needless to say, the door never opened. All our things were in the room. And so we had to stay in another room for that night until someone could come in the morning to open it. Our night was comped, we were upgraded to a suite for the duration of the weekend. It was unfortunate, but the staff handled it beautifully. Always polite and accommodating. So this is why I struggle to give it a low rating. An unfortunate circumstance that shouldn’t have happened, but it was handled well.
Another set of friends who was staying there also had an issue. When they went to check in their name wasn’t coming up, but they had the confirmation number, and the room was somehow under someone else’s name and had been canceled. These friends were also upgraded and given a suite for the weekend.
I’m sure this is a great place to stay, perhaps it was just a rough weekend.

i stayed here at a convention and was very displeased with management. After I came home i noticed on my cc bill they charged me for 2 nights. I called the general manager and she said we cant doing anything about it. She was extremely rude, as a platinum member of Hilton Honors, i was totally confounded. I called Corp office and they told me hotel didn’t check me out and thus billed me for 2 nights. They corrected the problem but I never received a phone call from GM apologizing for their mistake and their inability to determine what happened.

We found a lovely gift under our pillow. A SPIDER! Of course we were flippin tables before one of us finally got the courage to grab a tissue and kill it. Gross.
On the other hand, there’s bound to be an occasional spider so that’s understandable. As long as they weren’t bed bugs! Aside from that, everything was clean. We got there late Friday night and left pretty early Saturday morning so we didn’t get a chance to check out the pool.
Continental breakfast is always a plus!

Stayed at this hotel during our visit to D.C. and it’s a perfect spot. Washington, D.C. is roughly a 20 minute drive with traffic, but it’s not bad. The area has plenty of stores around it. There’s a Walmart about 2 blocks down, and some good restaurants nearby.
The breakfast in the morning is simple, but satisfying. You can make your own waffle! They have scrambled eggs with ham and other stuff inside, potato bites, bagels, toast, muffins, and fruits. They also have coffee, milk, OJ, and apple juice.
It’s RIGHT off the highway and can be a bit confusing to get to depending on if you miss the entrance to turn left, but don’t be worried. There’s an «exit» to the left that heads toward Hunt Road, and from there, you can just bust a SHARP turn into the side street that leads you to the hotel. It took us a few times to get use to the roads.
The bed was EXTREMELY comfy! The tv is a relatively good size, and the space of the place is nice. The bathroom is spacious! We definitely enjoyed the stay here! If I ever come back to the area, this is the hotel I’m staying at! :D

This hotel is one of the better Hampton Inns. If you plan on visiting DC and the surrounding area, and you are looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable hotel, this is the right place to stay.
The hotel itself is about a 15 – 20 minute drive from downtown DC. The hotel offers a complimentary 24 hour shuttle to the nearest metro stop (which is about 5 minutes away) as well as a free shuttle to Reagan Airport. From the metro, you can navigate your way through DC pretty easily. Also, this hotel is situated on a main strip, where you can find a ton of different restaurants and shops. There is also a stop & shop, walmart, and target within a two minute drive.
This hotel offers many other perks, such as an outdoor pool, a business center with computers and printers, a fitness center, and a full breakfast every morning from 6am-​10am. If you don’t have time to sit down and eat, they offer breakfast bags togo. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and are larger than most other rooms I have seen at the Hampton.
The staff is polite and attentive, but some of the front desk staff could be a little more friendly.
As far as price, it is reasonable. Because a lot of business men and women stay here, the rates during the week are higher than those during the weekend, so keep this in mind.
Overall this hotel is a great place to stay.
