Crave Frozen Yogurt

This place has a ton of options and its so clean! Those are the two biggest things! And I got a bottle of water with my purchase for FREE which is definitely a giant plus

As my boyfriend and I sat at our apartment craving something to satisfy our sweet tooth, we began Unilocaling frozen yogurt places open at 9:30 pm. We came across Crave and set forth. Before we even got inside we could see the fold-​up chairs behind the counter and the lack of maintenance and cleanliness throughout. Upon entering we immediately noticed that about 80% (not an exaggeration) of their machines were not working. There were about 6 flavor options: tart, cotton candy, mint, mint cotton candy, «cheesecake», and «chocolate cheesecake». random. It was so bad a family walked in and left as soon as they could. I ended up getting tart and my boyfriend got «chocolate cheesecake» flavor. I am not sure what I ate. The taste was AWFUL and chemically. My boyfriend describes his as «not cheesecake» with stale toppings. This place is nasty! To top it off it cost us almost $ 13!!! But hey, at least you get a free water!

Trying to like this place bc it’s close to home but just can’t. Yogurt doesn’t taste the best and half the machines are always broken. Extremely expensive too! At least you get s «free» water.

My closes Froyo place and I love Froyo. This location is hot or miss but usually very good. Lots of options for toppings.

Disgusting artificial crap. I was a little disappointed to see no ingredients listed, other than to tell me if there was gluten or sugar inside – which I don’t care about. I want to know what nasty preservatives and flavoring goes in my food. Unfortunately, I didn’t need a disclaimer – you can taste it. This is the worst self-​serve frozen yogurt I’ve ever had. The flavored stuff (like salted caramel and cheesecake) tasted disgustingly artificial. The French vanilla was yellow – like, the artificial nasty French Vanilla Yellow you see in cheap drugstore ice cream – and had no flavor.
Also, just the machines and the setup seemed cheap and low quality.
Lastly, the price. Ridiculous! We got two yogurts and filled them halfway and added a minimal amount of toppings= 11 bucks. What a ripoff.

Like containers toppings… no more spoons. Receipts are send direct to your phone (paperless) with the points earns… great idea on saving few trees.

In my opinion, this is the best yogurt anywhere near me. In fact, it’s not near me. I drive there from Old Town because I like it so much.

Don’t waste your time. Only half of their fro-​yo machines work and so the remaining machines are either out or not yet ready. If they can’t maintain their machines, what does that say about maintaining health and safety standards? I wouldn’t risk it if I were you

This Crave is awful. The setup, the lack of flavors, and just the whole flow of the froyo place is off. It sucks. I find that they try to put too much stuff in such a small location. Where they have the toppings isn’t reachable for children who are a certain height, and if it drops in the floor from where you get the topping; it makes a mess.
I wouldn’t return if you paid me.

I went tonight for the second time with my husband. We just moved here three weeks ago, and that was my first time to try Crave. It became my new favorite frozen yogurt shop. Tonight was different. We were told we could not sample for ourselves, and the guy working stood and watched us as we chose our flavors. He told us he had to get our samples for us. It was uncomfortable, it made me feel awkward and untrusted, and overall the fun of getting yogurt was taken from me. I am disappointed by this visit.

This Crave location is definitely gaining popularity! I like sticking to their original tart flavor and go out of town with the toppings; my favorites include the strawberry mochi, the flavor bursts (these little tapioca-​type of balls that contain liquid when you bite into them), nerds, and Captain Crunch. The toppings bar is usually fresh, and I really like the wall-​mounted dispensers in the back as well, as it really eliminates the possibility of a random topping you didn’t want from those who use the same scoop; it also keeps it quite organized! The location itself is very bright and neon-​like. Staff are always friendly, and you can also sign up for their little membership where you get perks like a free 8oz cup of yogurt on your birthday. If you live in the area, you also receive coupons in the mail for BYGO deal or a $ 1 off.

The costs really run up here, even if you think you are being conservative about portion size and the number and amount of toppings. They must make Yogurt partially out of lead, because they charge by the ounce. The yogurt and topping quality though was great and we managed to go back more than once during our trip to the area.

Smaller than the Stafford one, but I can finally get my sea salt caramel pretzel froyo! 0.49 per ounce, which is great. Less topping options and flavors than Stafford as well, but same friendly staff. Anyway, did I mention sea salt caramel pretzel?

With dozens of frozen yogurt shops in the area, one really has to stand out to get a good review… Crave did not get the memo.
I’m a big fan of getting a bit of Chocolate and a bit of Strawberry. I think they changed their Strawberry yogurt because now it is «No Sugar Added» which means it tastes the way those Little Tree air fresheners smell. Their Chocolate yogurt is called Triple Fudge Chocolate… aka «Tons of Sugar Added». The Mango yogurt was pretty tasty, especially with Mochi! I agree with Elizabeth C. when she mentions a few of their flavors melt very quickly (like the Strawberry!).
They do have the most toppings that I’ve seen out of all of the frozen yogurt places. When you walk in, your eyes will light up when you see the WALL of dispensers… all kinds of M&Ms, mochi flavors, and cookies and candy candy candy and more candy.
Props to the kids that work there because they are always nice and willing to help. They also let you sample any of the yogurts for folks who want to have it all!

Crave is similar to other self serve fro-​yo shop. I found many flavors of yogurt and sorbet to be extremely artificial tasting. One I did like was the strawberry with fresh strawberries. I’ll probably keep looking for a go to fro-​yo shop in the area.

I saw reviews on Unilocal for Crave and most people were happy with their yogurt, so I decided to give it a try. Crave is located in a strip mall; not ideal, but not the worst. It’s unassuming that’s for sure!
The layout is a bit strange since the froyo is straight in the back of the store, the toppings are on one side, and the cashier is on the other. I could see it getting crowded very easily and quickly with lots of little kids there during busy hours.
The froyo itself is good because for every 2 flavors, there’s a middle handle where you can twist the 2 flavors together. Crave is spot on with their flavor combinations like tirumisu and peanut butter cup. The texture is a little icier than I like, but it’s the second best in the area (my number 1 pick for texture is yogiberry in shirlington). The fruit flavors are all tart, which some people love, but I’m not a huge fan of. I like that they have a long list of flavors that they rotate.
There’s seating outside in the form of a few adirondack chairs, but the view isn’t spectacular (you’ll be looking at cars or McD’s).
If you are in the area and a froyo craving hits, then give Crave a shot.

I love this place! Obviously simple and clean isn’t too much to ask for.
The flavors are always rotating, which could be a bad thing but isn’t because I never fail to find a new flavor that instantly becomes my favorite. And yes, you even get free samples! This place will continue to be my warm weather staple!

Crave is pretty good. I just got back from my first trip there after a friend made a suggestion to try the black and white cookie froyo.
At this point, its not my fav in the area due to the consistency of the yogurt — its a little runny, kinda like ice milk or something and it melted REALLY fast. I did like the flavors though — salted caramel pretzel is super good! Nice selection of froyo and tons of toppings to choose from including gummies and sours!
The customer service was also top notch– very friendly staff!
A couple of tips:
Because you’re allowed to sample the froyo in your cup, be warned that even a sample is a pretty big draw due to the way it comes out of the machine. I was left with a cup full of samples and it didn’t leave much room for the one I really wanted.
The toppings on the wall come out pretty fast and you’re kind of committed to one once you pick what you want due to the turning mechanism. You can’t just get a few chocolate chips, you get a scoop kinda like when you turn one of those candy/​gumball machines.
I will probably be back to Crave when I am in the area but probably won’t go out of my way because the other place I like more is closer to my house but not a bad spot!

Went here again the other night for the second or third time, and it was good. Not amazing, not bad by any means, but good.
The problem I find with the place (unless I’m doing it backwards) is the flow. You walk in, and you find yourself in a U-​shaped debacle. If you go to the right, you get the toppings. And if you do these first, all your toppings are on the bottom. If you go to the left, you have to pass by the cash wrap, potentially through a line of people waiting to pay, to get to the yogurt. So, what to do?
I went left, of course — always one to break the norm (ha) — and tried a few of the yogurts. Perhaps you’re not supposed to do that. But I want to know what it tastes like before committing. The chocolate ended up being my choice. The Pomegranate was also great, but not what I was in the mood for. The peanut butter just didn’t do it for me.
I had some great toppings, and was disappointed to find no Reese’s peanut butter cups in the little turny-​thingys but I found them at the front counter with all of the other toppings that probably would be a horrible mess if they were in one of the vertical holders.
The price isn’t a $ 1 ice cream cone, but it’s about $ 5 for a reasonable amount of yogurt and toppings. This is a kid’s container, by the way. If you eat more than this, you should probably go for a run afterward.
And, we got $ 1 coupons for our next visit at the register. Nice marketing ploy. It probably will work on us…
